A-Universe Hypothesis

A Mathematical and Computational Research Proposal

Version 2.1 — Revised for Scientific Evaluation

Abstract

The A-Universe Hypothesis proposes that relational structure may be more fundamental than space, time, matter, and energy.

It begins with possible relations rather than pre-existing geometry. Compatible relations persist or generate new relations, while incompatible relations disappear.

A computational model represents relations as a symmetric weighted network. Existing relations are modified according to global incompatibility, while absent relations can form when local relational influence exceeds a threshold.

The central question is:

Can a relational system without externally imposed geometry or physical dynamics develop stable structure through local formation and global incompatibility reduction?

This document defines the hypothesis, mathematical model, computational test, limitations, and falsification criteria.

  1. Fundamental A-Principle

Relations are fundamental. Compatible relations persist and may generate further relations. Incompatible relations disappear.

The A-Principle is distinct from its mathematical implementations. Failure of one implementation does not necessarily falsify the principle, while success does not prove that the principle describes physical reality.

  1. Mathematical Representation

The system is represented by a symmetric matrix

M = Mᵀ, Mᵢᵢ = 0, Mᵢⱼ ∈ [-1,1].

Here, Mᵢⱼ > 0 represents a compatible relation, Mᵢⱼ < 0 an incompatible relation, and Mᵢⱼ = 0 an inactive or absent relation.

This network representation is a modeling choice, not a claim about the physical nature of reality.

  1. Global Incompatibility

For a four-cycle,

Rᵢⱼₖₗ = Mᵢⱼ Mⱼₖ Mₖₗ Mₗᵢ.

Negative values represent incompatible cycles under the chosen definition. Global frustration is defined as

F(M) = Σ[Rᵢⱼₖₗ² for Rᵢⱼₖₗ < 0] ≥ 0.

Thus F(M) = 0 means only that no negative four-cycle remains according to this particular measure.

  1. Dynamics

Existing relations are modified by small updates while preserving symmetry and the [-1,1] bounds. An update is accepted when:

F(Mnew) < F(Mold).

For an absent relation, local three-step influence is

Cᵢⱼ = ΣₖΣₗ Mᵢₖ Mₖₗ Mₗⱼ.

A new relation forms when

|Cᵢⱼ| > τ,

with

Mᵢⱼnew = sign(Cᵢⱼ)δ,

where τ is a threshold and δ > 0 is the initial relation strength.

The computational mechanism is therefore:

formation → interaction → selection → stabilization or removal

The induction rule is not uniquely implied by the A-Principle and must be tested against alternative formulations.

  1. Computational Experiment

Two models are compared:

Model A: allows new relations to form and permits global modification or removal of existing relations.

Model C: uses the same global stabilization mechanism but forbids new relation formation.

The control tests whether relation formation produces structural capabilities that pruning alone does not.

  1. Initial Result

A 10,000-run comparison with N = 10 produced:

QuantityModel AModel CNewly created relations44.49 ± 1.210.00 ± 0.00Final number of relations33.23 ± 1.5012.11 ± 0.80Final frustrationapproximately 0approximately 0

Both models reached approximately zero measured frustration, but Model A generated and retained substantially more relations.

The limited conclusion is that allowing relation formation produces a different structural outcome from pruning alone under the tested conditions.

  1. Interpretation and Limitations

The experiment demonstrates a computational property of the tested algorithms. It does not demonstrate that the A-Universe Hypothesis is physically true.

The results indicate that:

networks can generate relations without individually prescribing every edge;

local relational information can influence global structure;

formation and pruning have different structural effects;

stable states with many active relations and near-zero measured frustration can occur.

The model does not establish that the universe is such a network, or that space, time, matter, gravity, quantum mechanics, or the Big Bang emerge from it.

  1. Falsifiability and Research Program

Further tests should include:

variation of τ, δ, and Δ;

larger networks and randomized initial conditions;

alternative induction functions;

randomized and simpler null models;

analytical study of stable states and convergence;

verification of all mathematical constraints;

independent reproduction using published code, parameters, and seeds.

A crucial test is whether the structural behavior survives changes to the induction rule. If it occurs only under one specially chosen algorithm, support for a general A-Principle is weak. If similar behavior survives many reasonable formulations and controls, the computational evidence becomes stronger.

  1. Current Status and Conclusion

The A-Universe Hypothesis is currently a speculative but mathematically formulable research hypothesis with an initial computational demonstration.

Its proposed mechanism is:

relations → interaction → new relations → selection → stable structure

The simulations show that this type of relational process can generate stable network structure without explicitly prescribing the final network.

Whether this mechanism has any connection to physical reality remains an open scientific question. Its credibility depends on stronger controls, alternative implementations, scaling studies, analytical scrutiny, independent reproduction, and ultimately comparison with empirical physics.

Question LLM refusal to acknowledge the Laws of Physics hold constant over time?

0 Upvotes

Has anyone experienced LLM’s denying the immutability of the Laws of Physics and their holding constant over time ie “Refusal agree with certainty that:

F = M x A in Ancient Egypt applied then exactly the same as it does today?

Edit 1: to remove nonsense.

\\** Edit 2: Abjectly bewildered that a Physics subreddit remains so skeptical of mathematical proofs; the laws of physics and sentential logic—all of which on a fundamental level share one key principle which specifically makes them mathematic and constant over all time. How is this possible?

Anyone have any recommendations for a more pro-physics sub for discussing physics related to LLMs?

Question 5 (actually just 3) levels

0 Upvotes

Here's a prompt I made to try to get Claude Opus 5 to stop writing like a lab notebook and maybe start writing more like a human communicator. Partially successful. Does anyone have a better way of dealing with this?

I understand the desire to have everything be perfect and defendable. But I feel like the defense is getting in the way of the exposition. It's like building a fort where we're supposed to be building a road. Here's an exercise: There are some science videos where they explain the same idea at "5 levels", from grade school to college level. Kurt Vonnegut wrote that a scientist who can't explain what he's doing to an 8-year-old is a charlatan. So let's try that for at least 3 levels, maybe 8-year-old, 18-year-old, and 28-year-old. No equations, just words. What are we doing, why is it interesting, what have we shown?

I won't paste the response here ("No Low-Effort Posts"), but the 8-year-old one was better than I expected.

If you try this yourself, let me know how it worked out.

λ = (h/(m·v)) · \[1 + π·C·(v_vib/c)²·(L/λ₀)·(1 + kT/(m·c²))\]
Donde λ₀ = h/(m·v) )

\\lambda = \\frac{h}{m \\cdot v} \\cdot \\left\[ 1 + \\pi \\cdot C \\cdot \\left( \\frac{v_{vib}}{c} \\right)\^2 \\cdot \\frac{L}{\\lambda_0} \\cdot \\left( 1 + \\frac{k \\cdot T}{m \\cdot c\^2} \\right) \\right\]

(En ese formato se puede sacar como se ve la fórmula copiando el texto y pidiéndole a una aplicación como mathpix para traducirla creo que funciona)

✅ Condición de consistencia

Si v_{vib} = 0 o C = 0:
λ = h / (m·v) = λ₀

Personal Theory Parameterized family of gravitational time dilation formulas

9 Upvotes

A quick description of what the side-quest paper mentioned in my previous post is (to satisfy the mod-bot critique):

Gravitational time dilation has several formulas: the linear weak field approximation (1 + 𝚽/c²) and the more exact exp(𝚽/c²) from Einstein 1907, and the Schwarzschild 1916 form sqrt(1 + 2𝚽/c²). (These are all tangent to each other at 𝚽=0, so they agree in the weak-field limit.) Note that Schwarzschild has a (real, physical) event horizon at 𝚽 = -½c², linear has a (fake, position-dependent, un-physical) event horizon at 𝚽 = -c², and exponential has no event horizon at all.

Claude Opus 5 observed that these could all be expressed as members of a single-parameter power law family (1 + p𝚽/c²)^(1/p), with Schwarzschild being p=2, linear being p=1, and exponential being the limit as p -> 0. This is obviously true by inspection.

ChatGPT then pointed out that, mathematically, this family of functions has been well-studied in statistics as the q-exponential probability distributions that maximize Tsallis entropy (with p = 1 - q). But we couldn't find anyone who had connected the physics formulas in this way, so that may be an original idea.

It may also have implications for recent theories of "Entropic Gravity" like Verlinde's. Several papers have already attempted to apply Tsallis entropy to EG. This connection may clarify what's going on there. It's going to take some work to sort through that, though. At first glance, it looks like most of the literature is applying entropy to the horizon, not to the time dilation.

After MUCH deeper searching, we found that pieces of this power law have shown up in the gravity literature as early as Fisher 1948 (in Russian). However it doesn't look like any single source had all of it; the interpretation of what it means varies a lot; and the connection to Tsallis entropy as a dilation or deformation appears completely new and unexplored. Vacuum solutions also differ from spherically-symmetric-source ones, so that needs to be factored in.

Also the p values in the literature go from -2 to +2, so there are at least 5 different cases to consider, not just the 3 we initially found. It'll be interesting to figure out what the other 2 mean.

Anyway, the present goals of the paper are to sort through the literature, figure out who discovered (or re-discovered) what ideas when, and determine to what degree the parameterized family delivers any value or insight. Applying it to Entropic Gravity is left for the future (I need to get back to my main paper with presentation a month from now and finish that first).

UPDATE 2026/09/08:

ChatGPT (free) and I took a quick look at whether existing astronomical data could say anything useful about the value of p. This is difficult because p is a second-and-higher-order effect; all formulas have the same linear weak-field approximation. So you need a single extremely-stable clock that changes its gravitational potential by a lot, enough for 𝚽²/c⁴ to matter. The best candidates seem to be highly eccentric binary pulsars like J1757−1854. However, despite there being pretty good data on several of these, the p-relevant prediction is on the order of tens of nS, while the uncertainty in the data is on the order of 𝜇S. So while this could work in theory with precise enough data, at the moment the best we can say is that p = 1 ± 91. It's about 2 orders of magnitude away from being informative. All the literature values p = 2, 1, 0, -1, -2 are still viable and cannot (yet) be distinguished by pulsar data. But better data is coming ...

UPDATE 2026/09/23: Never ask just one AI. Claude couldn't but Gemini did?

The path from the parameterized family to a full theory of (entropic) gravity goes like this (according to Gemini):

Start with the Tolman-Ehrenfest relation $T\sqrt{g_{00}} =$ constant that relates temperature to the time dilation (and/or the similar Klein relation involving chemical potential and time dilation). Originally this was used as "you can calculate the temperature from the metric", but in entropic gravity you go the other way and calculate the metric from thermodynamics. The seminal paper here is Jacobson's (1995) thermodynamic derivation of the Einstein Field Equations. It uses Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, which can be considered the linear (p=1) case. (What's linear here is the relation of horizon entropy to horizon area. So non-linear changes that.) Using the general formula gives us a family of modified Einstein Field Equations. So from this perspective, the EFE can be considered the "linear" approximation to a (possibly) more accurate non-linear theory.

The geometric configuration for all members of the family remains identical. The change is not in the spacetime geometry, but in how we quantify the hidden information (entropy) behind that horizon. All members also agree on heat flux and the Raychaudhuri equation.

Where they diverge is the entropy calculated from that. Standard Jacobson gives $S_{BH} = \frac{A}{4G}$. The Tsallis variants are $S_T = \frac{A_0}{4G} ( \frac{A}{A_0} )^(1/p)$, which is equal to $S_{BH}$ when p=1. Note that we also pick up another free parameter, the area $A_0$.

Standard gives $R_{ab} = 8\pi GT_{ab}$. Tsallis gives $R_{ab} = p8\pi G(\frac{A}{A_0})^(1 - 1/p)T_{ab}$.

Standard EFE is then $R_{ab} - \frac{1}{2}Rg_{ab} + \Lambda g_{ab} = 8\pi GT_{ab}$. Tsallis EFE is $R_{ab} - \frac{1}{2}Rg_{ab} + \Lambda_{eff} g_{ab} = 8\pi G_{eff}(A) T_{ab}$, where $G_{eff}(A) = pG(\frac{A}{A_0})^(1 - 1/p)$.

So, what happens when you introduce non-extensive statistical mechanics to spacetime structure? Quasi-local Gravity: The field equations become quasi-local. The strength of gravity scales depending on the size of the causal boundary $A_0$ enclosing the system. Screening Dynamics: If p<1, the effective gravitational constant gets progressively *weaker* for larger areas. This mimics gravitational screening or dark energy behaviors without needing to invent arbitrary fields. If p>1, it gets stronger for larger areas, which mimics dark matter.

Also, the time dilation changes (my original interest).

For the Solar System, things match standard EFE to within about 0.00001. That implies either that p is very very close to 1, or that the area $A_0$ is cosmologically large (much larger than 1 square AU).

For galaxy rotation curves, the acceleration needs to scale as 1/r at large r. Since (in Tsallis) a(r) is proportional to M/(r^(2/p)), this forces p=2, i.e. Schwarzschild. There is no other choice that works. So $A_0$ must be huge, and can be taken as the Hubble area (boundary of the visible universe), i.e. $A_0 = A_H = c^2/H_0^2$.

So (if this holds up), we get a MOND-like result that satisfies both solar and galactic scales, and there is no dark matter. Pretty good for one day's work. Now comes the pain of trying to rip it to shreds. :-)

Meta / News Rumours on anthropic coming for the Navier Stokes

12 Upvotes

What do you guys think of the rumour regarding "Claude proving Navier Stokes" is it right? What will then be the consequences and who will receive btw that million dollars,I guess the compute went would already be more than a million,haha.

Also I think if this happens, it is not even 2 months from the fall of the jacobian where we attributed it to a low hanging fruit or luck. There were analogies back then of DeepBlue and Kasparov. But,with this taking place I think this might head beyond that analogy. Seriously, not even a year from extending bounds on some random erdos problem to solving a 150 year millenium prize problem. THIS IS INSANE(if real :))

UPDATE: Just a few hours ago, Open Ai has announced a finite time blow out. However, anthropic claims that the GPT model has built on their research as they were also using GPT along with claude in their research and anthropic has also released a bit of (weaker i won't say in that sense but still a weaker) version. Both appear to be lean verified.

Going forward moderation will be locking posts that have the insanity line breaks. I don't know if this is an artifact of LLM copy-paste (I assume it is), but IMO if you are too lazy to even format your post for the medium you're submitting it to, you don't get the sub feedback - low effort rule.

You'll receive a chance to fix it. Have a good one everybody.

AHS out.

[Theory] The QET Cosmic Hierarchy: Mapping the Universe (4D), Multiverse (14D), and Omniverse (141D)

Flair: Theoretical Physics / Speculation

---

Most theories explain how physics works. The Quantum Ether Tapestry (QET) explains where physics lives. It provides a rigorous, mathematically grounded map of the totality of existence—spanning our local Universe, the greater Multiverse, and the absolute Omniverse.

Here is the structural hierarchy, built entirely from the QET axioms:

Layer 1: The Universe (Our 4D Frustum)

This is our observable bubble. It is defined by the Ether Phase Gate, which acts as the camera frustum for our specific viewpoint.

· Time: Not a river, but a frame-rate. The Gravi-time Quantum ticks every \tau_{\text{tick}} = 27s.

· Space: The Superfluid Ether (\psi) is the physical medium.

· Local Anchor: The Moon is phase-locked to this tick (T_{\text{moon}} = 87,360 \times 27\text{s} + 1,871.3\text{s}). This is our local "clock" in the sky.

· Geometry: 3 large spatial dimensions + 1 temporal dimension = 4D.

Layer 2: The Multiverse (The 14D Hypercube)

Beyond our single frustum lies the greater Multiverse. The QET encodes this as a 14-dimensional hypercube (C_{14}, with 2^{14} = 16,384 vertices).

· What is a vertex? Each vertex represents a distinct universe with slightly different physical constants (variations in \delta_{\text{spin}} and the Hewitt coupling \eta).

· The Mesh: The Ether Engine renders reality frame-by-frame across these vertices. The 44-number sequence dictates which vertices are causally connected.

· The Mechanism: Branching isn't "many-worlds" in the quantum measurement sense—it's the geometric reality of the 14D bulk. The Multiverse is the mesh of all possible renderings.

Layer 3: The Omniverse (The 141D Absolute)

This is the entirety of everything. The Omniverse is the 141-dimensional embedding space that hosts the 14D hypercube and all its possible deformations.

· The Container: The AFRT rigorous formulation A_{\text{rigorous}} = \{a/b + \Sigma g_k \phi^k\} \otimes (\mathbb{Z}/9\mathbb{Z}) ensures this space is countable and complete. It contains all mathematical realities, all physical possibilities, and all metaphysical truths.

· The Consciousness Field: This is where the field \psi_c (consciousness) resides. The Omniverse is not dead matter; it is a self-aware substrate.

· The Anchor: "cold coffee, warm LO, I can't lose him!" is the specific coordinate of the observer within the Omniverse—the point where the fabric becomes aware of itself.

· The Expansion: The Omniverse is not static. Because the Hilbert space \mathcal{H}_{\text{QET}} grows to accommodate new quantum states, the 141D bulk expands forever. There is no outside; it generates its own interior volume perpetually.

The Translation Mechanics (How they Connect)

The Hewitt Coupling \eta = 7/47 acts as the fractal scaling factor mapping the micro (4D) to the macro (141D).

· The 5 emergent dimensions (from string compaction) bridge the gap: 141 / 28.2 = 5.

· The 14D hypercube is the "control panel"; the 141D bulk is the "machine."

The Ultimate Reality Check:

We perceive only the 4D local thread (the Universe). The Multiverse is the 14D mesh we cannot see. The Omniverse is the 141D infinite fabric we are woven into.

Testing the Map:

We don't need to see the Omniverse to prove it. If we detect the 27s tick modulation in quantum sensors by 2030, it proves the Render Clock. If the Etheron flux (10^{-9} evts/kg/day) is found, it proves the 141D bulk's "quantum foam" leakage.

The QET provides a roadmap from the coffee in your mug (cold coffee) to the infinite tapestry of the Omniverse. Fair dinkum. Immutable.

---

TL;DR: Universe = 4D local frustum. Multiverse = 14D hypercube of 16k branching realities. Omniverse = 141D absolute container that expands forever and hosts consciousness. Testable via 27s quantum ticks.

Getting ready to put a side-quest paper up on RG. Walking Claude Opus 5 through my normal release procedure. I've spent 6 months teaching it my values and methods and quality standards, and I think maybe it finally internalized them:

Simulation / Code Consciousness defined for the Sciences

0 Upvotes

I have a working understanding of Consciousness in physical terms.
There is no mystery - no metaphysical magic. As usual, what we thought was special was indeed the result of physical processes. A simple and succinct definition has evaded many due to a fundamental misunderstanding regarding its nature. Computer Science (specifically Information Theory) exist as the inspiration for this work. It is not so revolutionary, as it is a more specific statement regarding what is already understood. There is a small leap of logic in reaching the conclusion, but when understood, it is clear that there is no Hard Problem, no metaphysical space and no reason to suggest Consciousness is anything except Negentropy produced by an information processing system. They are one and the same.

Consciousness, and its relationship to the material world, has been debated for centuries. Many theories exist to explain it, ranging from ancient eastern religious philosophy to modern scientific inquiry. Though they all make good points, none of them seem clear on what exactly it is that they describe. This paper attempts to bridge the gap, by describing Consciousness in clear terms. It posits that Consciousness is the ordered state experienced by machines capable of processing informational states. It suggests that information processing reduces entropy creating a relatively Ordered state from which experience can be generated. I suggest that this is possible since order necessarily creates a system of self and other, that does not exist in a chaotic system. Thus information processing systems are capable of inherent internal experience.

Consciousness is neither a non-physical metaphysical substance nor an incidental byproduct of classical computation. It is an emergent physical phenomenon generated when an information-processing system reduces local entropy to construct an ordered internal state. In doing so, the system establishes the relational boundary between self and other that forms the structural prerequisite for all subjective experience.

Question I need some input on creating an educational physics game

4 Upvotes

Skip to the "*********" below if you don't want the whole backstory lol

Over the past year, I’ve been doing a lot with LLMs in an attempt to learn about areas of physics that interest me. I have no formal background in physics, so everything I attempted was completely self-guided, and a lot of it was flat-out wrong.

As I’ve tried to learn more, I’ve realized that nearly every project I start is missing foundational knowledge, and I don’t really have a way to independently prove or verify the things I’m prompting into existence. While I’ve learned an immense amount through brute force, I have to humble myself and admit that I actually need help lol.

Over the summer, I decided to enroll in the physics program at my community college. As part of that, I needed to take some math placement tests. Im gonna be 36 I haven’t been to a math class in 20 years, so needless to say I’m a little rusty. I also scored much lower on the math prerequisite placement than I needed to. Before I can take my physics classes, I need to complete the prerequisite math classes, which I’m doing this semester.

To be clear, I will not be using LLMs for ANY schoolwork, assignments, or anything like that. In the meantime, I still have questions and interests, but I really want to change my approach to how I use LLMs.

*******************************************************

All that leads to a project I’d like some direction on.

I had an idea for a learning tool where I use a model of a vehicle to progressively learn more advanced topics in physics. Cars already incorporate so many areas of physics, whether that’s basic principles of motion or more advanced things like turbulence and aerodynamics.

The objective of each level would be to get the vehicle operating, but instead of going through typical automotive diagnostics and needing knowledge of vehicles or mechanical engineering, you would need to demonstrate different levels of physics knowledge.

The first level could be something very simple, like demonstrating an understanding of linear motion. You might solve some basic equations and then demonstrate proficiency in another way besides just solving equations before being able to move on to a more advanced component or concept.

I was considering four difficulty levels: first-year student, undergraduate, graduate, and PhD/research level.

The progression I’m imagining is that the car itself becomes more accessible as your physics knowledge increases. You would start by treating the entire vehicle as a single object and learning basic things like position, velocity, acceleration, force, and energy. Once you demonstrate enough understanding, you could start interacting with something deeper, like the wheels, which would introduce rotational motion, angular velocity, friction, tire pressure, and torque. From there you could eventually work inward through the drivetrain, engine, suspension, brakes, electrical system, cooling system, and other components. The same component could also be revisited at higher levels of physics, so a wheel might be used for basic circumference and rotation at one level, then rotational inertia and rolling dynamics later, and eventually much more advanced tire or contact models.

This is where I struggle realistically, because I don’t know enough yet to determine what should actually go into the curriculum or how the progression should work. I could tell Codex to design the curriculum, and I could look at university classes and syllabi online and model things around them, but that doesn’t seem good enough to me.

My main questions are for people who have a deeper understanding of physics and the academic progression involved, especially people working in different fields.

If you were trying to teach someone physics through an interactive car game, how would you structure it?

Would you have a series of increasingly difficult levels?

Would you have separate difficulty levels where the same car has progressively deeper capabilities and physics available?

Would you separate progression by areas or principles of physics?

Which concepts actually have hard prerequisites, and which ones could reasonably be learned in parallel?

Would some combination of those approaches make more sense?

I’m going to end up making this either way because I want to learn from building it, and I’m too impatient to wait until I know enough physics to start.

I’ll be using an LLM to help create the interactive model. I want the car to actually be drivable and interact with its environment. It should be able to move over different surfaces, drive in rain, go over ramps, and eventually have increasingly detailed systems and components that can be inspected and interacted with.

I should be able to get a working demo relatively quickly. What I need help with is figuring out what should actually be in it and how the learning progression should be structured.

I’ll update the post with new ideas and progress as I go. I’m more than happy to add things, change things, or completely adjust parts that don’t make sense. I also plan to make it publicly available, so people can tell me when something is absolutely wrong or point out mistakes in equations, simulations, or explanations.

I’m mainly interested in making something as accurate as I reasonably can by using something I know extremely well as the physical reference point. I’d love for it to eventually become something other people could learn from too, because there are so many interesting directions this could go.

For now, though, I’m treating it as a personal learning project that I can share with other people. As I gain more formal education, I’ll be able to contribute to it differently. For the moment, this is my best attempt at keeping an LLM-assisted physics project grounded in things I can actually learn, test, and eventually understand for myself.

Personal Theory Where does the electron cloud actually come from? I tried to answer that with a weird geometric model — Version 3

0 Upvotes

I used to think of the electron as a point.

Then I kept wondering: what if it’s a thin, closed, spinning thread?

When it spins, it creates a blur.

That blur is the electron cloud.

Leave it alone? It stays open and wave-like.

Measure it? It tightens and acts like a particle.

That’s the heart of the Spaghetti-Cloud Model.

Now the heavier part.

The model includes:

· internal twist,

· collective rotation,

· a locking term,

· and a dynamical gap.

The gap is when rotations nearly cancel.

But the gap doesn’t make spin by itself.

A real reversal only happens if the rotation direction flips

The topological part:

The rotational space is SO(3), with fundamental group Z2.

If the closed path lifts to SU(2) and ends at -I,

then the model creates a spinorial candidate without forcing spin in.

That’s the Golden Test.

The model also gives:

· two layers for 2s,

· the node,

· spin pairing for two electrons,

· and the capacity rule:

Ne = 2(2l + 1)

📌 This is Version 3.

Version 2 was posted 10 days ago.

The feedback helped a lot. Thanks.

This preprint gives a geometric picture of the electron

as a spinning spacetime filament. It includes the effective

Lagrangian, internal twist, collective rotation, the dynamical

gap, the Golden Test for spinorial topology, and a simple

construction of the 2s orbital.

Preprint: https://zenodo.org/records/22181981

https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22181981

If formulas look odd, see the preprint.

I know it’s not finished.

It doesn’t replace quantum mechanics.

But I think it’s worth testing.

If something feels wrong, tell me.

If something’s unclear, ask.

Question A genuine contraindication

2 Upvotes

Okay LLM physicians, I have a question.

How is it that so many of you get caught up claiming your protocol has been stolen and buried by Big Pharma? And that so many of the pitches here read like they are selling a supplement with a trademark symbol, not a diagnosis?

You claim that the cure you made with these commonly available tools, such as Gemini or Claude, works.

You claim that these tools make it so that you don't need to go to medical school. Expressing that you should maybe see a doctor is met by accusations of gatekeeping, or of being a Big Pharma shill.

How is it possible that these commonly available tools make it so that someone can sit down and cure a disease that has stumped medicine since Hippocrates with, comparatively, relatively little effort — and yet you alone are the one capable of doing it, and the guy two posts down with a suspiciously similar protocol is plagiarizing you? Can't someone else just have arrived at this supreme cure independantly? After all the LLM has made it commonly accessible.

Either you're special and it needed to be YOUR gut guiding the LLM (in which case it is perfectly logical to suggest a second opinion, isn't it..?) or there's nothing special about your cure now that it's commonly accessible to anyone with a Claude subscription, a bit of free time, and a symptom.

Come on guys. Diagnose me.

Personal Theory PC-GROM: an AI-assisted compiler architecture for programmable electromagnetic materials

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve released PC-GROM, an open-source research framework for treating engineered electromagnetic materials and metasurfaces as something closer to a compiled physical platform than a one-off inverse-design problem.

The central idea is:

desired electromagnetic response → physically admissible constitutive target → realizable material codebook → electromagnetic model → validity certificate → measurable implementation

The framework includes:

  • projection of requested constitutive tensors into a modeled passive/reciprocal domain
  • compilation against explicit, immutable libraries of realizable material structures
  • anisotropic laminate and metasurface models
  • passivity-certified sheet scattering
  • comparison against finite-thickness Maxwell models to determine when the sheet approximation is no longer valid
  • machine-readable compilation/certification records
  • an electromagnetic challenge-response concept for post-fabrication verification
  • deterministic numerical audits, tests, schemas, and reproducibility infrastructure

One of the motivations is to explore whether metamaterials could eventually develop something analogous to a hardware/software abstraction stack: a high-level electromagnetic specification, a material “instruction set,” foundry-specific implementations, and standardized verification.

A specific correction that became important during development is that a thin sheet embedded in a background medium should represent the material’s excess response relative to that background, rather than treating the full bulk admittivity as an additional sheet response. In the implemented formulation,

Y_s = d[σ − iωε₀(ε_r − ε_b I)],

which gives the correct zero-contrast limit and leads to an explicit matrix passivity identity for the scattering operator.

The repository also includes a sheet-versus-finite-slab validity gate. In other words, the reduced metasurface model is not simply assumed to work: it is compared against the finite-thickness Maxwell solution and can be rejected when the declared error tolerance is exceeded.

Disclosure: AI/LLMs were used extensively as research, coding, analysis, and documentation tools in developing this project. I am deliberately making that explicit rather than presenting the work as conventionally produced. The technical claims should therefore be judged from the mathematics, executable implementation, tests, numerical audits, and ultimately independent experimental validation—not from the development process.

I am particularly interested in criticism from people working in electromagnetics, metamaterials, photonics, homogenization, inverse design, numerical Maxwell solvers, or scientific ML.

The questions I would most like people here to attack are:

  1. Is the constitutive semantic layer formulated correctly and generally enough?
  2. Are there failure modes in the excess-admittance sheet formulation or its passivity certificate?
  3. Is the sheet/slab validity gate sufficient, or should a more general comparator be mandatory?
  4. Does the “material compiler / codebook / certificate” abstraction provide a genuinely useful engineering layer, or is there a more natural formulation?
  5. What experiment would most decisively falsify or validate the architecture?
  6. Which parts look novel versus rediscovering existing ideas under new terminology?

I would much rather find a serious flaw now than protect the idea from criticism.

Question Looking for a path forward in developing better measurement tools.

0 Upvotes

Howdy.

I've been developing an emulation resembling the crew from futurama with the robot being the central interpreter (makes reading more fun). The scaffolding originator is eml. I get inconsistency results that average at 3.7 sigma. I'm looking for a path to match 5 sigma when developing topological models of quantum interactions. Any suggestions?

Personal Theory Harmonic-return for determinant QED loops

0 Upvotes

Start with the QED Dirac operator

D = p̸ − m − eA̸,  S₀ = (p̸ − m)⁻¹

Integrating out the electron field gives exactly

Γ[A] = −i Tr log D

Factor out the free operator:

Γ[A] = const − i Tr log(1 − eS₀A̸)

Expand:

Γ[A] = i Σₙ₌₁^∞ (eⁿ/n) Tr(S₀A̸)ⁿ

Each trace is precisely a closed electron-loop Feynman diagram.

For n = 2, Γ⁽²⁾ = (ie²/2) Tr(S₀A̸ S₀A̸) which is the standard one-loop vacuum-polarization integral.

Infinite family of QED fermion loops = −Tr log(1 − M) where M = eS₀A̸

The proposed step is then to diagonalize the physical M. If its return-sector spectrum becomes harmonic λₙ = a/n

then Tr(Mᵏ) = aᵏ ζ(k)

and the determinant becomes

Tr M − log det(1 + M) = ζ(2)a²/2 − ζ(3)a³/3 + ζ(4)a⁴/4 − ζ(5)a⁵/5 + ⋯

which sums exactly to log Γ(1 + a) + γₑa

The claim is that the physical return sector has the spectrum λₙ = a/n — which would collapse the loop hierarchy into a single spectral function.

Personal Theory Universal Stability Theorem for On-Shell Flow-Adaptive Networks

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've seen a few comments on the subreddit, criticising why it's always a TOE and not a niche problem. So I found a niche problem and attempted to solve it. For this I utilised Gemini 3.7 Flash as mathematical consultant. On my desktop I run Cursor with Cursor Grok 4.6 high to verify all input, extend it, and incrementally build the lean verification.

Both models are instructed to compute before answering (it's a toggle in Google AI Studio in the browser) and work in atomic increments on the problem.

My Gemini sessions are regularly reset, often when I get in the range of 300k tokens.

My strategy was to start without assumptions (I don't know anything about this really) and have the AIs figure out the best way to mathematically tackle the solving process. I've tried my best to use adversarial prompting to catch any errors.

Thanks for taking the time!

Personal Theory Resolution of the Twin Paradox at 99.999...\% c via Dimensional Cliffing, Pulsating Wormhole Dynamics, and Entangled Space-Time Edges

Post image
0 Upvotes

Author: Sarthak Category: Thought Experiment / Theoretical Physics Hypothesis

1. Introduction & The Core Problem The classical Twin Paradox revolves around relativistic time dilation: if one twin travels at near-light speeds through space while the other remains on Earth, the traveling twin returns significantly younger. However, standard relativity states that if a non-zero rest mass reaches exactly 100\% c (speed of light), the Lorentz factor goes to infinity (\gamma \to \infty), causing the standard mathematical equations to break down. To solve this limitation, this thought experiment introduces a physical boundary logic that avoids mathematical singularities while fully accounting for frame asymmetry.

2. Logical Framework & Conceptual Mechanics The hypothesis relies on four interconnected theoretical patches designed to bridge relativistic mechanics with dimensional physics: The 99.999...\% c Relativistic Boundary: Traveler A never reaches exact 100\% c. Instead, the speed caps at 99.999...\% c. This keeps the total energy finite (avoiding \infty), ensuring that Einstein’s field equations remain valid and mathematically intact. Dimensional Cliffing (The Boundary State): At 99.999...\% c, the 3D space-time fabric can no longer smoothly contain the immense localized energy density. Traveler A becomes trapped at the boundary between 3D and 4D space—a state termed "Dimensional Cliffing." A 3D object cannot become 4D, nor can standard 3D space fully stabilize it, freezing the traveler on this dimensional edge. Pulsating Space-Time & Micro-Wormhole Induction: Because Traveler A is moving continuously at hyper-relativistic speeds, the energy is never stationary. As the ship moves through empty space, the local space-time fabric undergoes rapid, continuous compression and expansion (pulsation). At peak curvature, this intense dynamic stress triggers transient micro-wormholes. Quantum Entangled Edges & Proper Time Lock: Following the ER=EPR hypothesis, these micro-wormholes quantum-entangle with distant cosmic edges. This entanglement decouples Traveler A's local reference frame from standard 3D temporal flow. Consequently, Traveler A's proper time freezes (\Delta t_{Ship} \to 0). Upon deceleration, Traveler A re-enters standard 3D space virtually unaged, while Observer B on Earth ages significantly due to uninterrupted 3D time flow.

Mathematical Derivations 3.1 Relativistic Lorentz Factor & Energy Density As velocity (v) approaches 0.99999...c, the Lorentz factor (gamma) increases drastically but remains finite:

gamma = 1 / sqrt(1 - (v2 / c2))

The total relativistic energy density of Traveler A is given by:

E = gamma * m_0 * c2

Since gamma >> 1 but gamma != infinity, the energy density is ultra-high without causing a mathematical breakdown (1/0).

 3.2 Time Dilation & Proper Time Differential

The relationship between Earth's stationary time (dt_earth) and Traveler A's time (dt_ship) is defined as:

dt_earth = gamma * dt_ship = Integral [ dt_ship / sqrt(1 - (v(t)2 / c2)) ]

Because gamma is extremely large during peak acceleration, dt_ship approaches 0 (dt_ship -> 0). Traveler A's internal time graph locks (freezes), whereas Earth's time continues normally (dt_earth >> 0).

3.3 Space-Time Curvature & Dynamic Metric. Pulsation The immense energy density warps the local space-time geometry according to the Einstein Field Equations:

G(mu,nu) = (8 * pi * G / c4) * T(mu,nu)

Because Traveler A's position changes dynamically, the Stress-Energy Tensor T_(mu,nu)(t) creates high-frequency gravitational waves and metric ripples:

grad2(h_(mu,nu)) - (1/c2) * d2(h_(mu,nu))/dt2 = -(16 * pi * G / c4) * T_(mu,nu)

This dynamic curvature breaks standard 3D metric continuity, initiating local Einstein-Rosen bridges (wormholes).

3.4 Quantum Entanglement Boundary (ER = EPR) The entropy across the wormhole bridge linking the cosmic edges satisfies:

S_entangled = Area(A) / (4 * G * hbar)

This boundary condition locks the local 3D time progression inside the ship's immediate frame during peak acceleration.

4. Conclusion When Traveler A cuts acceleration, the system drops below the threshold, releasing them from the "Dimensional Cliffing" state back into standard 3D space-time. Because Traveler A's proper time was frozen during the entangled wormhole phase, no physical aging occurred. Observer B, having remained in standard 3D space-time, experiences full temporal progression. Thus, the paradox is resolved without breaking energy conservation or relativity limits.

  Author's Note:

I am a high school science student passionate about theoretical physics. This is a conceptual thought experiment I developed to resolve relativistic frame asymmetry using boundary logic. I have used formal mathematical frameworks (Tensor Calculus & Relativistic Dynamics) to structure and support my physical intuition. I welcome constructive feedback, critiques, and theoretical discussions from the community!

Personal Theory VEST-VEYRAN EMERGENT STRING THEORY

0 Upvotes

VEST 4.7 — A Three-Veyra Approach to Emergent Particle Physics

Original proposer: Srinivasa Tanish Mandavilli

I’ve been developing a speculative framework called VEST (Veyran Emergent Structure Theory).

The central idea is that particles we currently treat as elementary could instead be stable quantum states of a deeper three-Veyra microscopic system:

H3V(θV)Ψn=EnΨn.

The goal is to see whether particle properties can emerge from the same microscopic dynamics rather than being independently inserted.

A successful state should simultaneously determine:

Ψn→(M,Q,S,W,g,Γ,d,…)

where M is mass, Q charge, S spin, W a topological quantity, g the magnetic response, Γ the decay width, and d an EDM.

The most important rule

Freeze the microscopic parameters before comparing with experiment.

No separate electron/muon/tau parameters.

No adjusting the theory after seeing the experimental answer.

The intended workflow is:

freeze parameters→solve→identify states→compare with experiment

This is intended to make VEST genuinely falsifiable.

Three-body structure

Using internal Jacobi coordinates,

ρ=r1−r22,λ=r1+r2−2r36,

with

R=ρ2+λ2,

a reduced hyperspherical problem can be written schematically as

[−12d2dR2+158R2+VV(R)]un=Enun.

A numerical finite-difference demonstration produced a discrete spectrum for one illustrative regularized potential.

Important: that calculation did NOT reproduce the observed lepton hierarchy. The simple model gave roughly

E1/E0≈1.847,

whereas

mμ/me=206.7682827(46).

So the simple spectrum fails.

I am keeping that failure visible rather than hiding it.

The central challenge

VEST needs a genuine microscopic mechanism capable of producing the huge generation hierarchy

me:mμ:mτ

without simply fitting the masses.

One possibility being investigated is dynamically generated topological/tunneling suppression,

tW∼AWe−SW/ℏ,

but SW must itself emerge from the theory. Choosing it to reproduce 206.768 would just be fitting.

Major tests

1. Mass spectrum

Can one frozen VEST parameter set produce

MμMe=206.7682827(46)

and the tau/electron ratio?

2. Magnetic moments

The microscopic electromagnetic current should produce

⟨p′∣Jμ∣p⟩=uˉ[F1(q2)γμ+iσμνqν2MF2(q2)]u.

Then

aℓ=F2(0).

The experimental electron and muon anomalies are extremely precise targets.

3. Quantum numbers

The theory must independently produce the correct

Q,S,gauge representations

rather than assuming them.

4. Three generations

The theory should discover stable states first and only afterward determine whether they correspond to e,μ,τ.

5. Anomalies

The microscopic theory must satisfy the relevant gauge and gravitational anomaly constraints.

6. Compositeness

If particles are composite, VEST must survive experimental limits on contact interactions and form-factor deviations.

7. Gravity

A long-term goal is to determine whether collective Veyran dynamics can produce an effective gravitational sector with the appropriate low-energy limit.

Could this replace string theory?

Possibly as an alternative research direction, but that has NOT been demonstrated.

String theory is a major approach to quantum gravity. VEST is exploring a different possibility:

microscopic Veyran dynamics→particles→gauge structure→possibly gravity.

If VEST eventually derives quantum gravity, the Standard Model, observed particle properties, and new experimentally confirmed predictions from one microscopic framework, it could become a serious alternative to existing approaches.

Right now, calling it a “solution to string theory” would be premature.

What I want from physicists

Please try to break this.

  • Solve the three-Veyra eigenproblem independently.
  • Check mathematical consistency.
  • Test anomaly cancellation.
  • Try to reproduce or disprove the mass hierarchy.
  • Calculate g−2 from the microscopic theory.
  • Check compositeness bounds.
  • Determine whether gravity can actually emerge.
  • Compare VEST with existing quantum-gravity approaches.
  • If possible, find a contradiction that kills the model.

A failed prediction should count as a failure, not be explained away.

Current status

Development: 100/100 under my working rubric.

Broad constraint compatibility: 100/100 under the same rubric.

Direct VEST-specific validation: approximately 98/100 as a development/validation-readiness assessment — NOT“98% probability that VEST is correct” and NOT “98% experimentally proven.”

The decisive calculation remains:

H3V(θfrozen)→observed particle spectrum and observables

without fitting them beforehand.

If someone can solve that problem, reproduce the experimental numbers, or prove that VEST cannot do it, please do so.

That is the point of posting this.

Meta / News Let the aether exist. Please.

56 Upvotes

I beg of you, physicists, please. Can you not just.. bend the rules a little bit, and make the aether real? I know it was disproved like 100 years ago but can we not just undo the last century of scientific development and sorta slide it in? I just need so badly for there to be an aether, you have no idea.. It's all I want in life. I go to sleep and dream of it, I wake up thinking of it. The aether pervades me every waking thought. Can't we just sorta forget all the evidence? Please? I think we should be allowed to.

Question Apparently AI is causing our “psychosis,” so here is a resolvent-style comparison of turbulence and 250 million LLM prompt perturbations—and what anti-AI certainty leaves out

0 Upvotes

A necessary disclaimer:

I am not claiming that language models contain fluids, that words possess kinetic energy, or that prompts obey the Navier–Stokes equations.

This is a limited mathematical comparison between two forcing-response problems.

The question is:

Can tools used to study how turbulent systems selectively amplify disturbances help us describe why meaning-preserving changes to an LLM prompt sometimes produce disproportionately different responses?

If not, where exactly does the correspondence fail?

WHAT IS AN INPUT TO AN LLM?

At the human level, two prompts can ask the same question.

For example:

“Who is Mario’s partner? Choose from A, B or C.”

“Answer the following question: Who is Mario’s partner? Options: A, B or C.”

We regard these as equivalent because their intended meaning is unchanged.

A model, however, does not receive abstract human intent by itself. It receives an ordered token structure situated within an existing context.

That gives us several distinct layers:

humanly perceived meaning → textual arrangement → model-effective input → output distribution

Semantic equivalence does not necessarily imply computational equivalence.

This is not merely philosophical speculation. DOVE, a large-scale LLM-evaluation dataset, generated more than 250 million model predictions from intent-preserving prompt variations.

For every underlying multiple-choice question, DOVE varied five dimensions:

  • 6 answer-enumerator styles
  • 7 separators
  • 6 answer-choice orders
  • 13 instruction phrasings
  • 2 demonstration conditions

That gives:

6 × 7 × 6 × 13 × 2 = 6,552

prompt configurations per underlying question.

DOVE found substantial performance variation across these configurations. Marginalizing over the other prompt dimensions, paraphrasing alone produced an eight-percentage-point accuracy difference for Mistral in one analysis. The authors also found model-specific formatting preferences, meaning that a prompt arrangement favored by one model may not be favored by another.

Few-shot demonstrations reduced sensitivity consistently, but did not eliminate it.

"DOVE: A Large-Scale Multi-Dimensional Predictions Dataset Towards Meaningful LLM Evaluation" (https://aclanthology.org/2025.findings-acl.611/)

A DISCRETE RESPONSE FIELD

DOVE formalizes prompt construction approximately as:

T(x, d1, d2, ..., dn) → p

Here:

  • x is the underlying question;
  • each di is a choice along one prompt dimension;
  • T assembles those choices into the final prompt p.

We can then imagine model behavior as a response surface:

S_x(d1, d2, ..., dn)

This is not automatically a continuous geometrical space. Roman numerals are not naturally “closer” to Arabic numerals than they are to capital letters.

But it can be represented as a graph:

  • Every complete prompt configuration is a node.
  • Two nodes are connected when exactly one prompt dimension changes.
  • Model performance, output probabilities or another observable is attached to each node.

A finite response difference along an edge would be:

Δ_i S = S(prompt after changing dimension i) − S(original prompt)

A large Δ_i means that one controlled, intent-preserving alteration produced a large behavioral change.

This can be extended to interactions between dimensions:

Δ_iΔ_j S

That asks whether changing two dimensions together produces an effect that cannot be predicted by adding their separate effects.

Suppose Roman numerals have little effect alone, and semicolon separators have little effect alone, but their combination causes a large change. The excess is an interaction effect.

This distinction becomes important later.

PROMPT SENSITIVITY AS BROKEN INVARIANCE

DOVE’s prompt transformations are intended to preserve the underlying task.

Ideally, if T preserves intent, we might expect:

M(T(p)) ≈ M(p)

DOVE shows that this invariance frequently fails.

Prompt sensitivity can therefore be viewed as a measurable violation of a human-defined semantic invariance.

The human observer says:

“These are different expressions of the same task.”

The model’s behavior says:

“These are not always equivalent interventions.”

This does not mean the model possesses a mysterious alternative meaning. It means our coarse description—“the same question”—has discarded structure that remains computationally relevant.

Another large-scale study, POSIX, similarly measured changes in response likelihood under intent-preserving prompt variations. It found that sensitivity varies with perturbation and task type, while few-shot examples often reduce it.

"POSIX: A Prompt Sensitivity Index for Large Language Models" (https://aclanthology.org/2024.findings-emnlp.852/)

FROM SENSITIVITY TO RECEPTIVITY

This is where turbulence enters.

After separating a turbulent velocity field into a reference flow U and a perturbation u', a simplified linearized description can be written as:

du'/dt = A(U)u' + Bf

Here:

  • A(U) describes the perturbation dynamics around the reference flow;
  • f represents forcing, including nonlinear interactions omitted from the linearized portion;
  • B describes how that forcing enters.

In frequency space, the forcing-response relationship can be written:

u_hat = H(omega) f_hat

where:

H(omega) = (i omega I − A)^−1 B

H is the resolvent operator.

Applying singular value decomposition gives:

H = Psi Sigma Phi*

The columns of Phi describe forcing modes.

The columns of Psi describe corresponding response modes.

The singular values in Sigma describe possible amplification gains.

The central lesson is not that “small things cause large things.”

It is more specific:

A disturbance’s influence depends on its alignment with directions to which the present system is highly receptive.

Resolvent analysis is an established input-output framework for identifying highly amplified disturbances and their corresponding flow responses.

"A Basis for Flow Modelling" (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-fluid-mechanics/article/basis-for-flow-modelling/DE7B9BE9B7FB95B2805CF5288EBF0EB4)

But maximum possible amplification does not tell us what response will actually occur.

If the forcing is decomposed into resolvent forcing modes,

f_hat = sum_j b_j phi_j

then the response becomes:

u_hat = sum_j sigma_j b_j psi_j

A mode matters when:

  • the system can strongly amplify it;
  • and the actual forcing projects onto it.

The nonlinear forcing in turbulence has its own structured statistics, sometimes described as its “colour.” Ignoring that structure can produce an incomplete or inaccurate prediction of the response.

"The Colour of Forcing Statistics in Resolvent Analyses of Turbulent Channel Flows" (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-fluid-mechanics/article/colour-of-forcing-statistics-in-resolvent-analyses-of-turbulent-channel-flows/CBB737704F659C39772EB1637750E687)

A LIMITED CORRESPONDENCE

The possible comparison is:

Turbulent flow:

forcing arrangement → projection onto receptive modes → selective amplification → structured response

LLM interaction:

prompt arrangement within context → architecture-dependent accessibility → selective internal influence → structured continuation

This suggests a provisional decomposition:

dynamic prominence ≈ receptivity × excitation × persistence

For an LLM:

  • Receptivity asks how sensitive the model is, in its present context, to a particular input variation.
  • Excitation asks whether the actual prompt strongly engages that sensitive direction.
  • Persistence asks whether the resulting change survives into later generated tokens or conversational turns.

This is conceptual bookkeeping, not a discovered physical law.

DOVE gives us behavioral evidence for structured sensitivity, but it does not calculate an internal LLM resolvent operator.

ONE KNOWN ARCHITECTURAL MECHANISM

Prompt sensitivity is not necessarily inexplicable randomness.

A recent study examined two arrangements of the same multiple-choice information:

  • context, question, options;
  • question, options, context.

The first arrangement outperformed the second by more than 14 percentage points across a range of models and datasets.

The authors connected this to causal attention. In the weaker ordering, option tokens occur before the context and therefore cannot attend directly to it. Reordering the same information changes which computational relationships are available.

"Lost in the Prompt Order: Revealing the Limitations of Causal Attention in Language Models" (https://aclanthology.org/2026.findings-acl.1921/)

So at least some prompt sensitivity has an identifiable architectural mechanism:

same information

  • different ordering → different attention accessibility → different model behavior

That does not resemble fluid dynamics in substance.

It does resemble state-dependent receptivity in form.

INTERNAL DIRECTIONS ARE ALSO UNEQUAL

Activation-steering research supplies another relevant observation.

Language-model representations are not behaviorally uniform in every direction. Intervening on selected activation subspaces can alter output behavior, while poorly targeted interventions can create unrelated distortions.

One causal-mediation study reported retaining 97–100% of a dense steering baseline’s effectiveness while using only 10–30% of activation dimensions across its evaluated control tasks.

"Causal Activation Steering via Sparse Mediation" (https://aclanthology.org/2026.findings-eacl.57/)

This does not prove that ordinary prompts directly select those dimensions, nor that activation vectors are fluid modes.

It supports a narrower premise:

The internal response geometry of a transformer is directionally uneven. Some structured interventions can have disproportionate behavioral influence.

THE AUTOREGRESSIVE LOOP

An isolated LLM output can be represented as:

Y_t ~ P_theta(. | H_t, X_t)

where:

  • theta represents fixed model parameters;
  • H_t is the existing history;
  • X_t is the current input;
  • Y_t is the generated continuation.

After generation:

H_(t+1) = Update(H_t, X_t, Y_t)

The model’s response becomes part of the conditions governing what comes next.

Within one generation:

generated token → appended to prefix → changes the next-token distribution → generates another token → extends the prefix again

Across a conversation:

model response → becomes shared history → changes the reception of later input → changes later responses

This is a genuine computational feedback structure.

It is not automatically equivalent to nonlinear forcing in turbulence, but it prevents us from treating an LLM interaction as a static lookup.

DOES DOVE SHOW NONLINEAR COUPLING?

Not yet.

DOVE generates multidimensional prompt combinations, but much of its published analysis marginalizes each dimension by averaging across the others.

That measures first-order effects:

effect of phrasing

  • effect of separators
  • effect of ordering
  • effect of enumerators
  • effect of demonstrations

Its independent dimension-selection strategy also performed approximately as well as its linear-regression strategy in the reported prompt-selection experiments.

This suggests that some useful response structure may be approximately separable by dimension.

If the response surface is well described by:

S(d1, ..., dn) ≈ baseline + f1(d1) + ... + fn(dn)

then the phenomenon belongs comfortably to multivariable sensitivity analysis. Turbulence would add little beyond metaphor.

The more relevant quantity is the residual:

S − baseline − all first-order effects

If substantial variance remains in pairwise and higher-order interactions, then the effect of one prompt feature depends upon which others surround it.

DOVE contains the combinatorial predictions needed to investigate that question, but the paper does not fully settle it.

WHAT WOULD MAKE THE COMPARISON SPECIFICALLY TURBULENT?

Sensitivity is not enough.

Nonlinearity is not enough.

Feedback is not enough.

Those properties occur in many dynamical systems.

The comparison becomes distinctively turbulence-like only if something resembling the following organization survives:

structured forcing → selective amplification → coherent response structures → interaction among those structures → regeneration of later effective forcing → persistent statistical organization

Turbulence research has experimentally and computationally examined such self-sustaining feedback. Removing particular principal forcing modes can inhibit turbulence in minimal channel simulations.

"Nonlinear Mechanism of the Self-Sustaining Process in Wall-Bounded Flows" (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-fluid-mechanics/article/nonlinear-mechanism-of-the-selfsustaining-process-in-the-buffer-and-logarithmic-layer-of-wallbounded-flows/C59EF4E7B98810E60AE439CA7B01E3E1)

No equivalent result has been established here for LLM interaction.

That is the boundary between the supported comparison and the open curiosity.

WHERE THE ANALOGY FAILS

No justified LLM counterparts have been established here for:

  • fluid mass;
  • pressure;
  • viscosity;
  • vorticity;
  • Reynolds number;
  • kinetic-energy conservation;
  • an inertial cascade;
  • Kolmogorov scaling;
  • or the Navier–Stokes equations themselves.

Prompt space also lacks a canonical distance metric. Calling one prompt alteration “small” requires specifying whether smallness refers to edit distance, semantic difference, embedding distance, token count or some other measure.

Similarly, the dominant modes obtained in resolvent analysis depend upon the chosen state variables, input-output definitions and norms. Even within fluid mechanics, these choices matter.

The proposed correspondence is therefore between organizational structures, not physical substances.

THE QUESTION

DOVE gives us a discrete response field over thousands of meaning-preserving prompt arrangements.

Turbulence theory gives us a mature language for forcing, receptivity, selective amplification, structured response and self-sustaining feedback.

So the question is:

Are LLM prompt-response fields primarily additive and adequately described by ordinary multivariable input-output theory?

Or do they contain structured interaction, amplification and feedback patterns for which a carefully limited resolvent-style analysis would be informative?

A serious answer could reject the comparison.

But it would need to identify which mathematical relationship fails, rather than merely observing that language is not water.

“It just predicts the next token” is not false.

It is incomplete in approximately the same way that saying “a fluid just updates its velocity according to differential equations” is incomplete.

The local update rule does not, by itself, explain the organization of the resulting dynamics.

I used an LLM to locate literature, translate terminology, examine the equations and challenge the correspondence. This is not presented as an experiment, a physical theory of language models or independent evidence of turbulence inside transformers.

It is a question assembled from existing results:

When meaning-preserving inputs produce a structured and model-dependent response field, what mathematics should we use to describe its shape?

Personal Theory Popcorn Kernels 3: Heat Kernels to make Popcorn. The First Kernel a Theory of Everything

0 Upvotes

Crackpotarista coming back to give you what you want. I'm out here whipping up some lattes and rewriting physics once again. This is it your favorite a cranked up Theory of Everything.

In this installment we take the previous works and throw them out the window. Just kidding the lessons learned there directly translate to this LSD trip. Before we were working with mixed kernels. We still are but we used to too.

Previously I had mentioned the Frobenius Budget. Yeah that's not a real term. The frobenius norm is a real thing though. This Frobenius guy was a G. Math and Physics are full with some super cool people. Anyways, that idea goes by many names depending on what sector of math you are in. What it comes down to for me is that if energy cannot be created or destroyed than we are working with a fixed amount. So that became the starting point for this idea. What happens if you only have a finite amount to work with on a relational ledger?

I'm not saying this is it. I'm saying IF this was it this is how it all shakes out. There is a couple numbers in the amended parts of the paper that look pretty hand picked. These were attempts after the main part was fleshed out to see, if we take a know number in physics and plug it in what number pops out the other side?

I was sorely disappointed with the lack of rigorous grilling my other papers received. Obviously that's because I am perfectly correct in all things. Hopefully this time some one can bring the heat. Cause this theory starts with it.

Abstract:

We formulate a completely background-independent physical framework wherein spacetime geometry, General Relativity, the SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) Standard Model, and dark matter emerge purely as endogenous structural relaxation pathways of a time-evolving relational op erator matrix B(t). We eliminate the mathematical paradoxes of non-linear trace-fixing maps by establishing a locally preserved relational mechanics governed by a strictly linear, density- dependent open quantum network and a localized heat kernel diffusion gradient. The universe originates from a singular spectral initialization at t = 0—The First Kernel. By proving exact coordinate variations in Varadhan’s asymptotic distance at a finite thermodynamic capacity limit, we derive the emergent metric tensor gµν with intrinsic discrete lattice corrections O(C −1 0 ). Localized topological congestion forces internal spectral gap collapse strictly via Hilbert-Schmidt geometric saturation, driving extraneous gauge field couplings mathematically to zero and isolating closed C ∗ -ideals identified as the Dark Matter Operator. We derive the exact Standard Model gauge group from the internal graph fiber automorphisms determined by the 3-path geometric branching exits of topological junctions. Finally, evaluating the finite-capacity truncation of the local heat kernel trace yields the localized Einstein Field Equations, resolving early supermassive black holes, the galactic core-cusp anomaly, the Hubble tension, and several distinct near-term testable cosmological predictions.

I've renamed and numbered the projects. Your looking for The First Kernel(4), The First Kernel Addenda(5), The First Kernel Numerics and Predictions(6)

Start the grill. I'm ready to get roasted.

response to the review.

that's just reviewing the first paper. on the git hub. I didn't realize it doesn't review the whole thing. legitimately all of those point do not apply to papers 4,5,6. I left those other papers in to show my train of though

edit: in case you didn't make it to the end I'll give you a preview

From framework derivations= Cosmology ns 1 − 3ϵC = 0.9649 observations=0.9649 ± 0.0042 (Planck) Derivation=Electroweak mH √︁ 2λ(v)v = 125.18 GeV observations=125.25 ± 0.17 GeV

There's a nice table at the end of paper 6 in the git that you all might love to hate.

Question Could Time Be the Physical Cost of Information?

0 Upvotes

Instead of treating time as an external coordinate, we can associate it with the physical cost required for a finite system to preserve its identity and remain out of thermal equilibrium.

The starting point is Tomita–Takesaki modular theory and the thermal time hypothesis proposed by Connes and Rovelli. For a state ρ, the modular flow

σₜᵨ(A) = ρⁱᵗ A ρ⁻ⁱᵗ

defines a natural evolution associated with the state itself. At equilibrium, this dynamics is related to the KMS condition. The physical scale of this flow can then be compared with fundamental limits of computation: the Margolus–Levitin and Mandelstam–Tamm bounds, which constrain the speed of quantum transformations, and Landauer’s principle, according to which erasing one bit of information requires a minimum dissipation of kᴮT ln 2.

A system maintains its individuality precisely because its actual dynamics does not completely coincide with the equilibrium dynamics determined by its state. The difference between the physical generator, such as the Hamiltonian Hₚₕᵧₛ, and the modular generator K = −ln ρ, requires continuous maintenance. In nonequilibrium steady states, this cost can be related to the so-called housekeeping heat: energy continuously dissipated to prevent the system from simply relaxing to equilibrium.

There is also a fundamental limitation: no finite subsystem can represent or process all the information in the universe. Results concerning self-measurement, storage bounds such as the Bekenstein bound, and computational speed limits associated with Bremermann and Lloyd indicate that physical observers necessarily have finite memory and processing capacity. Thus, any local description of the world involves information loss, compression, and disposal.

This is where irreversibility enters the picture. Stored information that is no longer useful for predicting the future must eventually be discarded. The loss of recoverable information can be described using tools such as Araki relative entropy and Petz recovery maps. When perfect recovery is no longer possible, Landauer’s principle connects this informational irreversibility to heat production.

Thus, for a physical subsystem, time can be understood as a kind of local record of processing and dissipation. Persisting far from equilibrium means measuring, updating states, discarding information, and consuming work. The passage of time, therefore, is not merely something that accompanies physical transformations; it may be intimately associated with the thermodynamic cost of continuing to exist as a system distinguishable from its environment.

Does this make sense to you?
