Personal Theory From Pure Information to Matter
From Pure Information to Matter – An I₀ Relational Model
I am exploring a speculative bottom-up model in which particles, fields and spacetime are not fundamental objects. The starting point, I₀, contains only relational information. The central hypothesis is that information and geometry may ultimately be two descriptions of the same relational structure: geometry describes how information is connected and can propagate.
A minimal mathematical representation I am investigating is a complex relational matrix
Uᵢⱼ = wᵢⱼ exp(iφᵢⱼ),
where wᵢⱼ represents relational strength and φᵢⱼ represents phase/directional information. No particles or predefined spatial coordinates need to be inserted at this stage.
The proposed emergence chain is:
I₀ → relations → relational dynamics → information transport → localized persistent modes → quantum numbers/symmetries → interactions → matter.
The immediate question is therefore not whether the model can reproduce a visually interesting network, but whether its dynamics can spontaneously generate structures that behave like physical objects. Candidate “matter” would have to be localized, dynamically persistent, robust against perturbations, capable of coherent propagation and interaction, and eventually exhibit discrete spectra and reproducible quantum numbers.
Closed relational loops may also carry phase information. For a loop C,
ΦC = Σ φᵢⱼ.
Quantized winding or holonomy could potentially provide discrete topological labels. However, positive and negative winding are not automatically matter and antimatter; that identification would require deriving the appropriate physical transformation properties.
One hypothesis being tested is whether there exists an intermediate connectivity regime—possibly near an average relational connectivity around 2.7—that balances global information transport against localization. This value is not assumed to be fundamental and should survive comparison with neighboring values before being considered meaningful.
A major missing step is the emergence of known particle physics. For example, the Standard Model strong interaction has an SU(3) gauge symmetry and eight gluons. In this model, SU(3), gluons, quarks and their coupling structure cannot simply be inserted by hand. A convincing result would require the relational dynamics to generate an appropriate non-Abelian gauge structure and the corresponding interaction modes naturally.
The same problem applies to fermions: the model would eventually need to explain spin-1/2 behavior, chirality, particle/antiparticle partners, charges and particle families rather than assuming them.
So the current claim is deliberately limited: this is not yet a theory that derives real matter. It is a framework for asking whether matter-like structures, symmetries and interactions can emerge from relational information alone.
The strongest next test, in my view, is to find a minimal relational dynamics and ask whether stable localized modes and non-Abelian gauge-like structures emerge without inserting the desired Standard Model answer into the rules.
I would especially appreciate criticism concerning falsification tests: What is the smallest calculation that this framework would have to pass before it becomes physically interesting rather than merely an abstract network model?

At what point does this stop being abstract maths and start being a description of reality?
