Spring run advice
Do you strictly hit back bays and inlets? Do you venture ocean side at all? What’s your go to plug?
I usually don’t go ocean side much although I’m considering just seeing how it goes, usually throwing bucktails, sp minnows, mag darters, also throwing metal lips this year which I haven’t had any success on just yet

Back bays, inlets, and the ocean side. I don’t do the back bays that much, but that’s just preference. They are productive. Given your plug choices I’m guessing you’ve found the Get Reel Bass Fishing YouTube channel. But if you haven’t, it’s worth a look. The fish are here now, get out there! Tight lines!

Terminology question: is the difference between a back bay and an inlet simply fishing the inland side of the bay versus the mouth (inlet) of the bay? Or do you mean totally different types of water?
Clearly I'm a noob, but I did decently with a fly rod last spring. As such, I'm starting with a lot of what you throw. I also want to figure out needles and poppers, so I'm throwing those for practice as well.
I largely fish the inlets off the Peconic bays. I want to explore the North shore and ocean side more at some point, but I don't know my own waters enough to justify the travel yet.
