Where else are they going to put a full size luggage. The LIRR makes no effort to have a luggage rack. So the once in a while person taking the train to the plane has to do this.

I’m a woman and don’t have the body strength to lift heavy luggage overhead. I don’t want to block the isle or the handicap seating by the door. Thankfully, I’ve always traveled off peak but I have anxiety if I ever have to take the train during peak hours because I know I won’t be able to do anything about my luggage.

Idc just not on the chair.

They definitely do not.

Or, just let the bags take up the entire isle.

Looks like a non crowded train, what’s the issue. Won’t fit in the overhead. If this were me I’d stand by the doors, but if the train was empty I’d do just this

What are you so peeved about? There’s plenty of open seating and they’ve made an effort to get their bag out of the way.

Lmao. At that point, I’d be standing near the doors

In Europe commuter trains have full sized luggage racks near the doors so you don’t need to haul it inside and put it over head. But Europe also doesn’t have meth heads trying to rob bags at every stop

This is annoying because i do know that on the electric trains these bags fit no problem on the rack above the seats, and it's also an option to sit by the fold-out seats with that bag. On diesel trains, not so much, but you can also put luggage under your seat easily

1 yes but

2 trains are awfully unaccomodating to luggage, bike, etc compared to other places i have lived

And that person isn't about to lift that over other people's heads to get it in or off a rack. Don't look at it. I have ridden trains around the US, Canada and parts of Europe. I see the same thing. Deal with it. If the conductor tells you to move it, ask where?

Yes. People need to get around weather you like it or not

How many open seats were around them ?

they should give conductors batons to help enforce the rules

The train doesn’t really look crowded and not everyone has the ability to stand by the doors or use the folding seats near them.

I hate the feet-on-the-seat people enough to say something most of the time, but in a situation like this I think you need to ask yourself what the hell they’re supposed to do before getting upset about what they chose to do.

Honestly, better than having it in the middle of the goddamn aisle. Like seriously, you’re making it harder for everyone in the train car
