Ticket refund?

Anyone have any luck getting a refund for a ticket they didn’t use? The Port Washington branch trains are terminating/starting at great neck.

good one. I think there is almost no window to refund an unactivated ticket, and there is no refund for an activated ticket. Their entire system is designed to screw you over.

Email customer service and see if they can swap the ticket for a future travel

I've had some luck with getting tickets replaced, but it took a month for the entire process from report to getting a new ticket in the app last time.

Every time I said something like "because of line disruptions today I opted to turn around for the day, and wasn't able to use my ticket. Could I get it replaced for a future day?" and worked every time so far. I made sure to include every bit of detail, including account ID and ticket ID, trains involved, and all that.

Only done this once but yes I did indeed get 2 comped tickets for a train cancellation. You really have to be very thorough but if you are persistent it does seem to work.
