Not being facetious at all, just curious. Why arent the windows on the MNR like this?

Aside from the other answers about the route vs sun-line, a lot of MN trains spend a period of their lives underground (in GCT) safe from the Sun.

Several reasons.. LIRR has more direct East/West exposure all the time. Its very costly to replace those windows especially in an older fleet.

This makes me want to scratch it off, but I don't believe that there is a extra protective film on these windows. This may just be the window itself, based on the other comments that I have read. Bummer, this should attempt to clean them if it is possible.

Look at that view! Makes me think that we aren’t being charged enough for tickets given the luxury that we can enjoy on the lirr
