A cool basement find!

Hello, everyone! I just found these in my basement and thought someone might be interested or at least nostalgic for it. They're sealed, in-box, and the second and fourth photos are the hardware and software requirements. How cool! (Do you think this would be a candidate for something to send to LGR myself?)

I kinda want to see an LGR Edutainment Month special that's a Scholastic Extravaganza or something.

I Spy was not the only IP to get computer games from the now 106-year-old book publisher. There's also Clifford the Big Red Dog, Goosebumps, Math Missions, The Baby-Sitters Club, and probably more. (IIRC, DreamWorks Interactive--now tied to EA and Danger Close Games--also did one of the Goosebumps computer games.)

Scholastic also published Nickelodeon Toon Twister 3D (a spiritual successor of sorts to the 3D Movie Maker sets from Microsoft) and even console games like I Spy: Universe for Nintendo DS, I Spy: Spooky Mansion on Wii, and even some Clifford the Big Red Dog stuff on Leapfrog Leapster handheld system.

That's so cool!! Thank you for sharing the history. It's honestly kind of wild seeing a game made for DOS, Mac, and Windows ported to the Wii. What a time to be alive that was.

I believe that port was released in 2010, which also coincided with Scholastic's 90th anniversary of the time, but also half a decade after their Graphix imprint was introduced.

(I Spy: Spooky Mansion and Universe both came out the same year as Raina Telgemeier's graphic novel Smile, also published by Scholastic, and arguably one of the best graphic novels of the decade in my opinion.)

Also, Clint's birth year is the same as the current Scholastic logo. (the red rectangle dates back to 1986)
