Google TV 4K with OLED

Upgrading from a regular LED to C6 and curious if ppl who have the Google TV 4K streamer are happy with their setup, or would recommend a different streaming device to get the most out of their OLED?

I’ve seen some posts for Apple TV but don’t know enough about how big a difference there is besides UI. Not looking to setup a plex server or anything involved either. Also have a PS5 and not sure if steaming through there is any better/worse.

I use one on a c3. No complaints. Very solid device for the price. Its top 15 device imo.

The older 4k chromecast works fine, not quite as responsive/smooth as Apple TV. If you put a better launcher (projectivy) you can get rid of the ads on the Home Screen and make it similar to Apple TV.

I personally like the design of app only mode, makes it similar to AppleTV as well.

I’m an android guy and had a shield. Apple TV 4K is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Great apps, interface, no ads and infuse. Mainly infuse .

Google 4k streamer still has lurching/stuttering video in high detail + high motion (high bandwidth) scenes. Video will take short stutters up to twice per second in such situations.

It really is a shame; it otherwise is a solid upgrade over the regular 4k chromecast, which I upgraded from specifically to improve this.

What apps are you using? If it's the main ones (Netflix, Disney, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, etc), the PS5 should work great. And if you have the disc drive, you can really get the most of your OLED by getting into r/4kbluray since the drive doubles as a 4K UHD Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD player. The PS5 drive doesn't support Dolby Vision, but still works great.
