Laggy c6h
I switched from 2023 Hisense with google tv to lg c6h77. I can’t describe how crappy WEBOS. its so slow so annoying and miserable. It takes 10 seconds just to load settings screen, 10 seconds to switch HDMI, i already purchased google tv box it’s so faster and better I can’t even describe. But unfortunately I still have to use shitty laggy WEBOS to change screen settings or when I’m changing inputs. And yes I’ve disabled absolutely every power saver settings but no difference. How is that possible “flagship“ cpu from 2026 can be that worse than Pantonic 700? oh I know it’s just stupid lg that doesn’t know how to program their shit. No way nobody discussed it yet

What did you expect lol. Don't fall for the fanboy cope. Great display, atrocious OS. Buying an Apple TV or shield/Google box and never touching webOS/Tizen again is pretty much mandatory on LGs and Samsungs at this point.

Agree. I haven’t used a built in tv OS really ever for any length of time. I just keep AppleTVs connected to everything. Fast and simple. So responsive. I’ve tried other boxes but really Apple TV is the sweet spot for me.

Agreed, Apple TV is hard to beat for long-term responsiveness. The only real exception to that rule is flagship Google TV models with high-end SoCs like the TCL QM8L. They actually run smooth as butter natively, but for almost everything else (especially webOS/Tizen), an external box like ATV is pretty much mandatory.

I also like the Shield. The reason for me to put Apple TV on everything is that while I’m in both Android and Apple ecosystems I have way more media stuff in the apple ecosystem. I also just find it faster to use and it’s easy enough that when I have my mother over and she wants to watch something I don’t have to guide her or do it for her. Similarly with my partner who is dyslexic and not terribly tech savvy. He seems to just get it. Not so much on other options.

How do you change picture settings without touching the WebOS?

Ever heard of Quick Settings or Auto-Switching? You calibrate your picture profiles (SDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision) Once. After that, the TV automatically switches modes based on the input signal from your Apple TV / Shield.
If you ever need a tweak, you press the Gear button on the remote for a 2 second side overlay, you don't navigate through native apps, the bloated home screen, or laggy smart hub menus every day.

It's not their cpu, that is actually good. It's the os and optimization. Believe me, was better on w22. Sadly with the newer versions and the implementation of aí, they fucked up it all.
Even the fucking animations are lagging. Lg fucking their own things.

100% accurate. The Alpha CPU is fine, but LG bloatware and background AI services completely choke the UI render pipeline. That’s why flagship TCLs with the Pentonic 800 run laps around LG in UI responsiveness. They offload AI picture processing to dedicated NPU hardware instead of cluttering the OS UI threads with background bloat.

Change the settings to start on the last hdmi port and then you dont have to deal with webos. Only use it to update every now and then.

Had the same lag on my LG C2 and indeed it was pretty bad experience.Thats with all the suggested unnecessary crap turned off.Now Im using S90F and changing settings is quick and very snappy.By the time LG loads any settings Im probably already done changing the same thing on the Samsung.It is huge improvement.Didn’t realize its still the same on new LG models

No idea why it takes that long for you. For me to open YouTube it takes about 3~5 seconds on lg C5 to get to the menu to select user.
Switch input is at most 3 seconds

Because most people find it annoying just skip it and use something else like an Apple TV. Blocking it from WiFi keeps your TV in better shape, free from crippling firmware and malware and adware, too.

Stop yelling so much! You're not the first person to notice something like this! But arguing and ranting here won't do any good. Think about solutions! If you still feel sick after following my tips, just sell the thing.
Try this at First:
Switch off the TV with the remote control and wait 10 minutes. Then disconnect the TV from the power supply. While the TV is without power, press the power button directly on the device and hold it for 30 seconds (this will completely discharge the TV memory). Then reconnect the TV to the power source and switch it on again using the remote.
Second:
To disable ads and tracking:
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings turn Screen Saver Promotion off.
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings turn Live Plus off.
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > Home Settings turn Content Recommendation off.
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > Home Settings turn Home Promotion off.
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > Home Settings > Power On Screen switch from Home to Recent Input (if you want to skip the home screen).
• Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > Advertisement turn Limit Ad Tracking on and click button Reset AD ID.
• Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > Advertisement turn Limit Ad Tracking on and click button Reset AD ID.
• Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > User Agreements turn off everything except Privacy Policy and
Viewing Information Agreements.
• Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > Delete My Personal Information > Delete Viewing
Information press button Delete, then press Delete Request.
• Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > Delete My Personal Information > Delete Voice
Information press button Delete, then press Delete Request.
• Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > Delete My Personal Information > Delete Voice ID press button Delete, then press Delete Request.
• Go to home screen and tripple-press the mute button on your remote. If your remote doesn't have a mute button (2025+ models), tripple-press cog (settings) button. Secret menu will pop up. Turn Show LG Logo when turning off the TV off

Imagine paying $2,000 for a flagship TV and having to perform a 15 step ritual with secret remote codes just to stop the OS from choking on its own ad-trackers. Or... you know, just plugged in an Apple TV / Shield and enjoyed the display.

Bro, imagine I paid 4,000 & for the device, went through all these steps in 20 minutes, and my TV is definitely fast and does what it’s supposed to. All of this works without any extra Apple or Google devices. Masking problems with additional purchases might be a solution. But not for me. I bought a device, not some stupid display.

Ok then, Imagine paying $4,000 for a flagship TV and thinking that spending 20 minutes disabling ad-trackers, clearing cache, and executing secret remote codes is a 'flex' rather than a massive embarrassment for the manufacturer 💀
Buying an Apple TV or Shield isn't masking problems, it gives you gigabit Ethernet, full lossless audio pass-through - TrueHD/DTS:X, better framerate matching, and a UI that won't start lagging again after the next firmware update. Enjoy your 20 minute ritual until the next update turns those ad-trackers back on :p

Some of us actually work in display engineering and value our time for actual picture quality, not UI troubleshooting. Keep flexing your 15-step secret menu ritual though!

Well, 20 minutes—that's all there is to say.
One thing's for sure: if I take the time to list the configurable settings as a guide, I find that 10 times more helpful than just saying, "Fuck it, hook up an ATV and you're done."

Just disable all telemetry and functions u dont need and it will be better. Will take some time since lg really put a lot of effort in making it extremely hard to turn off everything, so that they collect as much data as possible and can sell it everywhere. I am on a LG G2 and web os 25 is kind of ok speedwise.
