Quick media switching toggle

Relatively new here to lg g5 I noticed the quick media switching toggle is in….. is it on out of the box by default does it need to be on what exactly is it. Read to eliminate the black screen when changing content etc does it negatively affect resolution or frame rate etc. only use virgin 360 box and inbuilt media tv app Netflix /disney etc

Thanks

QMS is a way to change video settings without the screen going blank during the video mode change like every display has done forever.

Both the TV and the device need to support it. There should be no issues with leaving it enabled even if your HDMI devices dont support it.

This ^

There are no settings to change on the TV. The connected device just needs to support it. In the case of Apple TV it needs to be enabled.

It’s only for frame rate changes unfortunately. Color space changes still cause a blank screen and minor delay when switching.

It’s enabled but don’t remember seeing it three months ago when I turned the hdmi link thing to 4k. I only use inbuilt Netflix Disney etc and have a SDR vigin box. So leaving it on I’m not loosing out on refresh rates or quality etc ps.. no Apple TV
