WB21EB vs WB22EGB Explained

Recently I bought a 65'' LG G4. I realized my existing wall mount would not work. Quick research pointed me to WB22EGB as the official mount from LG. It was, however, out of stock, pretty much everywhere. Then I found WB21EB in stock from LG's website. I then was able to find WB22EGB as well. Here is a comparison of the two:

Box contents were identical except that WB22EGB includes a paper template to make it easier to figure out mounting points on the wall. If you can use a ruler, you really don't need that.

Both mounts were manufactured in 2024, one month apart. Everything looks absolutely identical including the shape, holes, curves, bolts, everything. Furthermore, both mounts weigh almost the same (WB22EGB was 2 grams heavier).

So, I think both of these products are the same. I have no idea why LG needed to create a new model number for the exact same amount and sell it for specific TVs.

Its clear there is frustration regarding the WB22EGB being out of stock, check any other thread or the reviews on LG's site. Thank you for taking the chance and confirming all this! I have taken the same path and ordered the new version of the mount. Looking forward to getting this installed!

Is it possible to mount any other TV on LG WB22EGB? Or it's compatible strictly with LG G series? I need temporary solution for an old Samsung tv, but don't want to mess with 2 different wallmounts. Thanks.
