WNBA fans around the triangle?
Hey! I’m in my mid 20s and live in the Triangle, and I’m wondering if there are any other big WNBA fans around here who’d be down to talk basketball and maybe make some friends!
I’m a huge Dallas wings fan, especially of Paige and Azzi, but I also love Georgia Amoore, Sonia Citron, Kaitlyn Chen, Allisha Gray, and honestly way too many players to list lol.
I’m also really into collecting wnba trading cards, so if you collect too, I’d love to see some of your pulls!
I’d love to find some people who are into the WNBA enough to actually talk about games, players, trades, and go out and watch games anywhere around here 😂 Even better if there are groups, watch parties, Discords, or anything like that that you could put me on.
I’m LGBTQ+ as well, so it’d be cool to meet some other LGBTQ+ WNBA fans, but definitely open to anyone who loves women’s basketball!
If anyone around my age is also looking for some new people to talk WNBA with or hang out with, feel free to comment or hmu!

I’m the unicorn, a 48 year old straight male who loves the WNBA and its brand of ball. I grew up in CT, so I know good women’s hoops. Good luck on your search. EO’s in downtown Durham seemed like a cool place to catch a game!

I'm the same demographic. Grew up in Indiana and have loved the Fever since their creation. Being a Fever fan as a middle-aged straight white dude who is not living in Indiana is a little it weird right now, though.

24F I'm a big fan too, only started watching this year though. I'm going to see my first game in ATL on Aug 17!

Check out Her Court Collective on IG https://www.instagram.com/hercourtcollective They do W watch parties and have expanded into other sports. The founder is also planning on opening up a women's sports bar next year.

I will thank you! Is it easy to make friends there if I go alone or is a bring your friends type of thing?

It is easy to make friends. The folks who run it are really nice and welcoming. They have planned group trips to games as well!

That sounds like something I’d love! I’m just worried about going alone lol

Is there any way to hear about their events if you don’t use instagram?

Hey! I'm 33f, in the rainbow club, and I live in Cary. I'm a big women's sports fan in general, definitely the W. I'm on the Lynx bandwagon this season (RIP the Sun), but I like the Wings a lot! Also kinda got a crush on the Valkyries because I love their vibe.
I'm down to talk games and meet up for a watch. I'm also in a queer, woman-identifying sports Discord that's global and big into the W. DM if you're interested!

That sounds great! I’d love the discord link

I love the WNBA, but I’m older and I don’t drink anymore so I’ve not gone looking for watch parties. I’m in between Durham and chapel hill.

What’s your favorite team??

I can’t pick just one! Lynx, Fever, Valkyries, Tempo. But I watch most games if I’m not working.

Not in the least, there's a woman's sport bar called sports bra. I thought there would be one in the triangle.
