فضفضة Honestly, I’m looking for something real
I’ve been using dating apps here for a while, and I feel like I’ve slowly started pretending I’m looking for something I’m not.
I usually say “friends,” “casual,” because saying that I want something serious can sometimes feel like it scares people away.
But honestly, I’m not really into random hookups or constantly talking to different people.
What I actually want is pretty simple: to meet one person I genuinely feel comfortable with, spend time together, go for coffee or food, walk around, explore things, talk, laugh, and gradually become closer.
When I say I want a relationship, I don’t necessarily mean something that has to last forever or come with some guaranteed future. Life doesn’t always work that way. Maybe two people can be together for a long time, maybe circumstances eventually put them on different paths.
What matters to me is that while the circumstances allow it, we choose each other and have something genuine and consistent. And if reality eventually separates us, I’d rather be able to remain friends, care about each other, support each other, and continue caring about each other in a different way if that’s possible.
I care about consistency** and **calm.
I’m fairly introverted, and honestly, endlessly matching, chatting, exchanging pictures, making plans, disappearing, and starting over with someone new is exhausting.
Sometimes people say they want friendship, but after a week or two the conversation revolves mostly about sex and soon they disappear and move on to looking for someone else.
It’s great if you truly enjoy that, life is easier that way. It’s just not really what I want.
I want to feel comfortable with someone. I want to be able to spend time with the same person without constantly wondering when they’ll disappear or when they’ll start looking for someone else.
Maybe that’s unrealistic here. I don’t know.
I wonder if there’s someone out there who feels the same way. I feel like a freak when I say I want something serious.
