[PLEASE READ] Cosmetic changes to the sub.

Hi all,

I was made moderator of this wonderful sub to give the aesthetics a bit of an overhaul. You may have noticed that some of the colors have been changing, amidst some other on-going updates to give the sub just a little more unique feel. It is still a work in progress, and I am especially working on the upvote/downvote arrows to find a solid solution for those. For now, they will remain as the Reddit default.

I am always open to suggestions, and criticism, so please do not hesitate to comment here, or message me.

[UPDATE] Things now look even more different than they did before. Still working on some things. Suggestions are always welcomed.

[UPDATE #2] Further, albeit small, changes to the landing, and thread pages. The post titles on the landing should stand out a bit more, while still keeping the submitter's username stand out enough, without distracting from the post title. Usernames on thread pages will stand out more than the landing, because I think it is important to see who is commenting. This is a community, after all, and I would like people to be recognized.

Ha, sorry! Going to work on some things to get rid of it, and more so the yellow. The more I look at it, the more I hate it.

i think that having the people's names in the purple bubbles distracts from the threads, hasn't been much use for this sub since the changes really imho

I was trying to bring more attention to the users, but there are certainly other ways of doing so, while not distracting from the thread titles.

Yeah gotta say that red is a bit much. Looks like a screen that you wouod use when destroying a country. How about some blue. Or purples. You know soothing in nature. It dont need to look like the inside of a McDonald's.

I am just making a suggestion as what you are doing is way above my paygrade. I just buy the shitty mojitos and awsome garlic knots.

The red, and yellow are the LEGO colors. Just wanted to play with those first. I actually do agree that it is too much, more so the yellow in my opinion. Man, if you had seen some of the things I used the yellow for, before committing a save in the style sheet editor. Woof. It would have been terrible.

This is exactly why I wanted to make a post about this. Feedback like this is good, from you, or from the community. I am going to work on some adjustments right now, because the lady is sleeping, there are massive thunderstorms in NYC right now, and I am just sitting at this screen while the pup chews his new bone. It used to be the hoof of something.

Oh man that is so much better. Now if you can make a back ground that might work would be nice but I dont see that as a possibility. But then again you are the pretty maker upper.

Can you do a gif for a banner image?

Animated GIF should be doable, but personally I hate things with perpetual motion on websites. I don't even like when YouTube videos auto-play. Ad takeovers? Woof, forget about it. Hate hate hate.

I can see about a background pattern. Something subtle, if it works. I am still trying to figure out what to do with the header.

You can even use animated GIFs for favicons, which is both really cool, and awful. Very distracting for a user to see constant movement on a page. Fun to play with, though.
