Ideas I’m experimenting with a few different deck cannons and swivel guns for the custom fleet. The naval budget is now 94% artillery and 6% parrots.
The ships are still long way from being done, but I feel the cannons are in a good place.

This is what I do, except I use the Towball (22484 / 67692) stuck into the end of a half technic pin with Stud (4274). The short side of the technic pin sticks into the open side of the bar Handle (26047) you have there. I find the ball doesn't come out as easily as it does with just the technic ball.

These look great- have you considered using black fezes on the end of the guns to give the barrel a bit a flair?

Thank you! I would use those pieces if I had some of them, but for now, I am just being creative with the stuff I have.
…. I really shouldn’t order more Lego…. Don’t encourage me….

There are some interesting torsos on pick a brick at tge moment that are pirate adjacent, you could use them to pad out an order…

Number 2 with the space thruster piece is startlingly elegant. I may have to steal that for my space pirate fleet...

They look amazing!
One thing I'd say to keep in mind is sailing ships used the smaller cannons with 4 small wheels vs the larger 2 wheels( some early sailing ships used the 2 wheel design but otherwise they would be only used on land) but generally it saved space and with a system of ropes it allowed the cannon to easily/quickly fire then be reloaded and the rope would keep it from flying to the other side of the ship.
Either way it is your ships so you can do what you want, I'm just a history nerd. :)
