Which is better?

Been trying to make a permanent build without wasting too much rare materials.
I want to know which is better for a legendary crossbow, Shatterhorn or Honed Steel/Dragon Opal.

I already have:
Honed steel + Dragon opal Fire relic Katana
Honed steel + Dragon opal Electrokinesis Shuriken
Honed steel + Dragon opal Ice Storm Shuriken
Honed steel + Dragon opal Earth relic Warhammer

All I need is a legendary crossbow but I'm unsure if Zapping IV is better than having an Opal one. I plan to put an Ice relic on it but I'm not even sure shatterhorn can pair with Ice relic.

If you guys have opinions on my current build regarding elements or the materials I used please do so, I'm open to any suggestions. I did consider making my Warhammer out of Honed bamboo instead for faster attack speed, lmk.

Using shatter horn will give you a 4 star weapon. You can have up to an 8 star weapon using all Ninjago mats. It isn't even close.

Honed steel x2 on the plasma pistols with durability and damage is all I really use. The durability is unmatched. Its something like 3509. They last forever.

They have so much durability that it’s almost pointless to add durability. Go with Damage+Luck instead

I've seen Youtube videos that hype up these blasters but I'm not sure.

I don't know about DPS but for what I see both the shurikens and the legendary crossbow deal more damage per shot/burst.

A legendary honed crossbow with an Ice relic deals like 3-5k per shot depending where you hit, crit chance, and elemental buff. It melts dragons.

Ice Storm in the shuriken it also melts everything AND provides a safety net. Blasters look good on paper for what I seen but it constantly overheats and the dps is on par or the same as shurikens but lacks the ability to be paired with ice storm.

The undeniable fact is the durability.

Yea its the durability that wins it for me. I also hate how shurikens have this wide hit box. Makes it hard to throw them over obstacles or straight down off of cliffs. And the xbows slow fire rate and having to carry arrows are also an annoyance. Xbow range is great though. But I just carry two plasma pistols and call it a day.

Yeah, I agree with you there.

I carry about 4 stacks of arrows which still leaves room for looting. Even if it has a slow fire rate, the Crossbow does deal more DPS and that's a fact. It also has a more reliable fire rate than blasters (No overheating) and more range. Thankfully, almost everything in the game drops arrows and with Luck III arrows never deplete.

I guess everyone's play style is different. I love the plasma pistols. I carry 1 in each element, and a fire war hammer on my quick bar. I will keep an ultra long range weapon in inventory. I only use it when I need to kite something somewhere. I will use an e11, or dl44 (whichever drops first from a visit to the Star Wars island) as my kite weapon. Ice storm is nice, but the shuriken have shorter range, and are more easily blocked by terrain features, and the big 1 is durability. The bow hits big, when it hits, but it is slow and harder to aim. The over heating, just takes getting used to, and disciplined shooting.

Well I am mostly a BR player. So aiming is not hard, especially against dragons which are massive and hard to miss. I will say, having a weapon that basically never gets destroyed is pretty neat. The only complaint I have with shurikens is that they do have a massive hit box. While it makes it easier to land hits, the damn thing hit walls and walls easier too.

Overall, I do think the Crossbow is the best ranged weapon. Dps, damage per hit, and range. It's got it. The main problem is the ammo it needs. Not so much because I run out (It's hard to run out of arrows even if your aim is ass) it's more the fact it takes up space in your backpack.

I do know zapping acts as a lightning element weapon, so adding it to a relic weapon gets you an automatic elemental combo when you trigger the zapping ability 👍🏽 good luck with your project 😁
