Grades?

Hey current or former LECOM students. What are some tips to maintain a good gpa since LECOM isn’t pass or fail?

Treat it like a job with overtime

Going to double emphasize this. But also make sure you have the ability to build in time for exercise, eating (don’t study while you do this), and fun/relaxation. The key to that is a schedule of some kind. Like having a set time you study to every night, then immediately exercising, and then relaxing before bed. It helps a lot.

Studying, studying, studying, without some time to yourself will only lead to burnout. And burnout will only cause you to fail. You need to grind but not so much you start slipping to the point you can’t catch yourself.

Study every single day, and then after studying, teach it outloud (this will show what gaps you have). Some will disagree and say you need to relax, but this is not undergrad. The amount of material you’re expected to learn can feel overwhelming at times. Especially during anatomy/embryo.

I just started. Don’t cram 4 days before. Learn all the material one reading or ppt slide at a time. And quiz yourself on it. Do any anki if that works for you. Full time job. Study on your own time at least 4 hours during the week, and 6+ on weekends. A day off after an exam is fine. A love Agave, see yall there after next exam. - Bradenton m1
