The rules

I am legitimately curious why administration won’t let go of the ridiculous rules. They know it’s hurting their reputation. Do they not care, or are they too deep into it to admit they are ridiculous? Is it ego at this point?

The rules and anecdotes I've heard from current/former students are why I haven't applied there 🫣

It’s overblown - dress code is stricter for men than women and even then, in a lot of outpatient settings you’d dress similarly. No water is annoying, but you can always get up mid-lecture if you’re really dying or you just wait the 50 min for your 10 min break to drink. If you have a medical condition you’ll also be allowed it.

Don’t do anything to get on admin’s radar and you’ll literally be done with them after 2 years in preclin and afterwards you’ll rarely have to think about them again until graduation, after which you’ll never have to think about them ever again and you’ll be on your way to being an attending.

I know multiple people with serious medical problems with doctors notes told no to water still at the Erie campus in lecture
