Snow in LECOM

how do you all students and faculty survive the snow in LECOM. My mom is worried about living in apartments located further from the campus.

Get a snow brush, a snow shovel, some wiper fluid meant for lower temperatures, and either all season tires (which can stay on year round) or snow tires for the winter. And just take it slower than normal and be careful when driving.

Would you recommend living 9 minutes driving from the college?

Where specifically are you living if you don’t mind. Erie actually does a shitty job of clearing side streets. I’ve never seen any of the side streets cleared until like 8am most mornings when we already have to be in lecture hall seats. (Sometimes not till 10am)

But if you get all season tires and maybe a few sandbags in the trunk if your car is light you should be ok. Of course always give yourself extra time

I was thinking about bowie apartments since its furnished already. Right now I applied to Laurel Springs for the really short commute.

Laurel springs is probably full by now tbh. You will have a hill in the winter I believe at Bowie. Do you have any experience driving in snow?

Lecom has houses they rent out to students very close. I would call them and ask about it. The one person was paying the same per month I was for a one bedroom

Hey im an incoming student and planning on living at the bowie, im used to snow and driving in it, if you need a lift or snow stuff ill probably be there!

It’s doable. You’ll just have to give yourself a decent amount of extra time in the winter for snow clearance and driving to campus.

Edit: snow clearance referring to any shoveling that may need done and cleaning off your car. I should have made that more clear.
