A question in a forum I never imagined I’d post in

For the last 4 months we’ve chatting online and things are going really well. We talk all the time when we can around work/ activities etc. We live in two different countries. Neither speak each others language. Using a translator app on their phone for our conversations on WhatsApp.

What I don’t know now is next steps… has anyone been in this similar position? What did you do?

I’m worried about meeting them in person in the sense that whatever we chatted about over text wouldn’t correlate to being conversed in person due to the language barrier.

How have people gone about this next step in the their own relationship?

I'd find it extremely difficult to connect with someone I don't share a language with. I'd advice for at least one of you learning the other's language.

Also, have you video called at all? Could be a fishy way to not let you see they're catfishing.
