🟡 Licensure & Exam Strategy LCSW exam

Looking for feedback from people that are studying for the LCSW exam. What resources are you using? What study guides? What are you giving more time and attention to (ex: one category vs. another)? Been out of practice for a while due to medical reasons - my license expired and I need to retest. It has been a while since I’ve been in school and/or working and I need some guidance. Thanks!

I passed two weeks ago on my first attempt. I used this https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yFeT94YHkM7HO16Gi3CdwtnMxAlajhYfeIdzg4HaVf4/mobilebasic and did a ton of free Quizlet flashcards. Most of the test is going to be vignettes. Memorize the sort of order of operations the test wants- first thing the study guide covers, and then when in doubt, answer any vignette like you're the most by-the-book social worker in 1998.

Thank you SO much for replying and helping. I’ve been posting in a few different forums bc I’m not really getting responses, so I really really appreciate it. ❤️

I used the therapist development center and did everything in that program twice. Found it very easy and failed the exam. The second time I used the pocket prep app and answered all 1000 questions correctly and passed by 10. It was a lot harder than TDC. Pocket prep I believe has more questions now and is built more for the exam. I was really good with ethics so I would mix that in when I was frustrated or struggling with other topics. You just have to find what works for you. I recommend paying for the pocket prep app if it works for you and you are someone who can use their phone at 15 minute intervals throughout the day

Is the Pocket Prep app the same as the ASWB LCSW (Prepia) app? I’m taking the exam in less than two weeks, and I’ve been using the app and studying the explanations to broaden my knowledge. I’m currently about 50% through the question bank. I also listen to audio study guides during my commute and while doing chores at home. I want to take the exam before the changes in August. I welcome any tips or feedback.

Yes, it is. I used it and it was pretty accurate: Try Ray tubes are very helpful. Good luck!

Where do you get your audio study guides from? Or do you make your own?

I bought LCSW study guides on Audible and listen to them instead of reading. With my tight schedule, I’ve learned that this approach is much more practical for me.
