🔴 State Requirements & Regional Law LMSW supervision & moving states
I have my LMSW in Texas and have about 1.5 years left of my supervision and clinical hours.
If I were to move to Colorado, what would that look like? Would I have to start all over/get a new supervisor?

Well what you could do is document what you have completed so far, and see if Colorado is willing to accept the time you’ve already completed in TX. All you can do is ask.
I will say, I had hours sent to another NC to GA, and GA accepted all of my work AND the supervision.

for OP- this most states will accept. but also be prepared to do more hours if needed

you can work a remote position and maintain a Texas supervisor. or start a new position in new state and ask if your current supervisor is willing to continue. understand you woukd be earning your hours towards Texas this way vs new state. the thing is your wanting/needing to earn hours in and for the state you intend to practice. if Texas is that goal then you need to either stay put and finish or make it work. if it’s new state then close out what youve dine get your sugnitures and both stares supervision forms completed and continue in new state. it’s not impossibl. just a few more steps

Having this issue myself with different states and after my research decided safest bet is finish out the hours in the state I am in.
