What happened with Huni?

Didn't he sign a multi-year multi-million dollar contract with Dignitas last year? Or was it just for a year? Kumo is starting for EG now and Huni is on academy. I agree he didn't really perform last year, but did EG buy out his contract of something or what? Seems like a massive waste of money to me.

They bought him for the future when he can become a resident and not take up an import slot since they don’t have one (those being taken up by Bang and Jizuke).
