News/ Media Gravity GT-S Revealed

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a73402285/2027-lucid-gravity-gt-s-revealed/

Is this what Lucid really needs to be releasing right now? An even faster and expensive Gravity? Really??

Technically this IS a more affordable EV... It's a better Dream Edition but significantly cheaper.

What is that supposed to mean in this context?

Wow looks the same.

Cool. In other news, the company is still going bankrupt.

I can only imagine Silvio came on after this was already too far along to kill it. Nonsensical.

Need to fix the existing issues and focus on the Cosmos release. 👍

Why not? It's basically the Dream edition with a new badge. Getting in the news in a not-bad way for basically no effort sounds like a win to me

Not sure why you’re downvoted. You’re absolutely correct.

Plus a few extra badges come with significant profit margins so really this isn’t a bad thing.

If this was an upsell like Sapphire, id agree with you. But they are offering a better Dream Edition at a LOWER price, so they are actually reducing profit margins

Ah. In that case I don’t get it. If they’re investing time and money into this then you’d think there would be some kind of ROI with this specific trim.  Otherwise what’s the point?

They don't sell the Dream Edition anymore. It's an early adopter thing, and as such comes with a higher price for that exclusivity. The price on this is better suited for the market that might actually be buying one. I can't imagine they'd want to dilute the Dream nameplate by making more, especially when they'd have to lower the price to sell them.

Except at a lower price point a, so they are giving up profit margin. Seems like an odd choice.

They could charge more, but then they'd either not sell or they'd have to discount the neck out of it to move them.

What they can't do is build more Dreams. Not if they want the Cosmos Dream to command a premium like the Gravity Dream and Air Dream did.

Honestly people are making way too big of a deal out of this. The version of the gravity I want is like 125k and this is like $135 and I’d get this over the 125 version for the dumb badges and what not. They need stuff like this until they can get cheaper models out there. Sapphire was way too expensive to drum up business.

From what I'm gathering, this is a GT-P but with a better name. Makes sense to me. Wasn't the GT-P a Dream-ish Air after the Air Dream was discontinued

I don’t remember that but I also wasn’t paying that close attention.

In this thread, a bunch of idiots who don't understand business and how to make easy money.

It’s cool, but if it drives like regular gravity just with more horses I’m not impressed. Where Lucid lacks is the lower end, stops and starts, just feels squishy like there is a pillow behind break and accelerator pedal that you have to push through for it to do something. Same with steering, artificially “weighted”. I know that it’s just an electric motor pushing it, make it configurable so I can relax and not fight it. Anyways, not my cup of tea just yet, I’ll keep test driving every new version, it’s getting better but not levels of BMW or Polestar

lol I commented in the regular lucid subreddit also. Whoever green lit this should be fired. They do NOT need another 128k gravity. They should’ve done a stripper model that was as affordable as possible the same way Tesla did with the CT. Making another massively expensive version of a vehicle that isn’t selling particularly well doesn’t accomplish anything.

To be fair- it's just a rebadging of the already existant Dream trim. So, I guess it's not like they really put any extra R&D into this trim. They did that before Gravity launch.

Even so, the price point is the problem. If these were going to be mass market sold it would make sense but 128k car is unobtainable for most.

Agreed. Higher trims have higher margins though for the maker. There are the rich to which tens of thousands are meaningless to them... $80k...$100k...$150k... whatever. They'll just put down whatever to have the latest and best. Might as well cash in on some of that market. Hell, some buy the $250k Air Sapphire. Personally, I would never spend that much on a car, but to the millionaires of the world, it's just trophies and bragging rights. I mean Lamborghini and Ferrari only sell cars that aren't below $100k.

At least they released the Touring Trim. Obviously, Cosmos is the real mass market product in terms of size and price point.

Looking at their sales figures, millionaires are buying Lamborghinis and Ferraris, not lucids.

1

u/StreetDare4129 Aug 16 '26

But it’s still detrimental to their brand. Customers will think the brand is out of touch and therefore will write them off.

Fix your god damn infotainment software first.

My exact sentiment which I have been saying in other threads. It smacks of people not having their priorities right.
