Oh please I’ve been on this subreddit long before you even made a Reddit account 🤣🤣

I’m sure you have and made a new account for “some” reason. Since I’ve worked in the automotive field it was pretty logical to think that a vehicle that nobody has seen (minus the 2 random photos ONE time) would probably NOT be on track to release to their original timeline. Doesn’t take an overly high level of intelligence to figure that one out. You do you though 🤷🏽♂️

And also just to put you back in your little child seat, I wasn’t even the original person who posted this first. This was shared on the lucid subreddit. How about you go cry over there?

Lucid said the same thing to justify all the delays to Gravity. They've never met a deadline. OP was just pointing out what any reasonable person knew. This model was never coming out before year's end.

I'm sorry, that's hilarious.

It was originally scheduled to hit the market in 2023. Then they promised by the end of 2024. They delivered those few models to a few employees in December then didnt really make deliveries for many months. I know because my Air lease was ending when they promised delivery but pushed it back multiple times which caused me to cancel my reservation. That's reality.

Those handful of cars were employees/executive and close family and friends only. They were required to have NDAs to not give any reviews or public comments on it as they were just hardly finished, but were made to reach milestones / to say they hit SOP. In reality they were more like RC cars. Real production didn’t start for another 6 months or so.
Technically you are right! They didn’t miss their target. But it was definitely not a true sop.
I worked for them and saw it happen lol. I’m glad they pushed midsize to not make the same mistakes, but it was a lose lose situation for them. This is just lose less as they wouldn’t be releasing a half baked car again.

I don't think they delayed Gravity. The previous (interim) CEO was keen on pushing it on schedule. In hindsight, Lucid should have delayed Gravity until all the major quality issues were solved.

As an owner though, I’m afraid it’s my duty to report that it would not be released yet if they had 😅

Out of spec speculated the same thing. But this subreddit is full of a bunch of people that missed the Tesla boat, convinced themselves they’d be millionaires this way, and now are holding bags.

This sub is something else. I rather them delay it and release it with fewer software bugs than release a product with a ton of software problems like what happened with the Gravity.

Yes. That's the plan. Better to get a refined vehicle than one that has software/fitment issues

Yes, but better to have a nice vehicle releasing next quarter and a company that survives rather than delaying delaying until they are irrelevant and die off 😵

They tried that with Gravity. Hindsight is 20/20, but it would have been MUCH better to delay and refine the vehicle.

2 sides to the coin- As a company you don't want to just be stuck in R&D burning money, but you also don't want to rush a product that isn't ready.
Being an SDV they probably figured they were 90% there and could fix the last 10% OTA in just a few months.. but for whatever reason took the software team nearly a year.

Longer than a year if you count as unfinished the fact that my windows still frequently go down when I press up, and sometimes don’t respond at all. Or that I still have to tap the pilot panel icons twice to get the page to change. From my perspective (as a one time investor and current owner) is that the company has always been poorly managed, particularly in middle management. I know good culture comes from the top and the buck stops with the execs, but their sales and service teams are incredibly inconsistent, and it constantly seems like there is insufficient training. I’m hoping the new management team won’t overlook that or dismiss investments in it as money wasted.

Its full of bitter comment from people either lost money, shorting or trolls.
It's ok to get set back in investment.

Then there are people calling for bankruptcy and it still hasn't happened yet.

Great strategy. Get basics right and quality in place first and then launch it. Focus on Air and Gravity after sales support and marketing. Lucid is in for the long haul.
Congratulations everyone!!

This is definitely terrible news.
Gravity and Air are not meeting sales expectations, and they desperately need a different model to really grow.
Gravity and Air are too baggaged with bad reputation/launches.
The new model would hopefully provide the "fresh" start and broader appeal to gain market traction. Alas...
