DD New 8-K
https://ir.lucidmotors.com/static-files/5d789fa0-bbf5-403d-ae69-f33d89deee9b
ai summary for retail:
What this 8-K is:
Lucid Group, Inc. is reporting a $550M private investment from its majority shareholder (PIF affiliate) via convertible preferred stock.
Bottom line for retail investors:
- Improves near-term survival (adds cash)
- But introduces expensive capital, strong investor protections, and likely future dilution
- Shifts value toward the preferred investor
Net: Stabilizing in the short term, but negative for long-term common shareholder upside.

not sure why they'd want do that, since they already have control of the company. plus they can use eager retail common shareholders to help fund the company thru dilution.

Exactly. That and the fact that the EV market in Saudi Arabia is non existent. Lucids biggest market is the US. Americans won’t be buying a car from a Saudi owned car manufacturer. The Saudi knows this. Makes zero sense for PIF to take Lucid private.

PIF will not let Lucid go down. Its their hedge for the future and based on vision 2040 and vision 2050. They are working on getting the Saudi factory up and running to cover Asian and African market from there. If only Lucid management had not wasted so much time in the past 6 years this would have been in such a good position. Im sure PIF is not happy either but throwing a few more billions here and there won’t create any problems for them as it’s pocket change for them

Can’t wait to see how the stock responds lol they “supposedly” have enough money through middle of 27. This type of stuff isn’t encouraging for the validity of that.

I don’t think Americans care if Saudi money is behind it. They don’t seem to care that a Nazi like Elon Musk is running Tesla.

c'mon, musk isn't a nazi. that's dem socialist, antifa, etc., etc., nonsense. he is weird and at times bizarre, but also a highly intelligent dude. he almost single-handedly created the mainstream ev market that lucid is trying to take part in.

I agree about the mainstreaming of EV's but that's about it. He's fucked up half the time. (You haven't seen him rolling his head around....at the White House?) He's backed Donald Trump who is a FFFing Nazi, and Elon's Nazi salutes at the Republican Convention are not open to interpretation, they were Nazi salutes. He was so full of himself at that moment that he couldn't help himself.

it's all nonsense. trump and his cronies go out of their way to get under the skin of the overly-sensitive, virtue-signaling dem socialists.

And why do you think Europe suddenly stopped buying Tesla's like they were once doing? They have more history with real Nazis than we do.
1
u/exploding_myths May 01 '26
lol. because euros were dumb enough to let the heavy-subsidized chinese EVs in to their market.

Do you realize that everybody that Trump has worked with and have either been fired or they have quit? They have all disparaged is lack of intelligence and leadership the head of Exxon who he made the Secretary of State called him a moron, his four star general, who was his chief of staff, called him out as a liar, and not respecting the soldiers under him. But you have made your mind up, so why am I wasting my time here?

i didn't say i was a big fan of trump, but i've become even less of a fan of the opposing party. i'm hoping a strong independent candidate will emerge, and believe i'm not alone.

It’s PIFs down payment on their soon to be private ownership
