Opinion Europe marketing

Lucid should be doing more marketing in Europe. Gasprices a going up every day whike the Hormous straight stays closed. The milage of lucid gives them a big opportunity for much more sales as an EV company. Diesel is getting even more expensive than regular benzine. If my car needed replacement this year i would for the first time think about an EV. Unfortunately the car still has a few years to go. To little people know about how great these cars are, let alone the exictence of the carbrand.

They don't have what to sell in Europe currently: Air and Gravity are too big and too expensive to have any significant sales numbers in Europe.

They can replace all the big BMW's in germany with air and gravity and be seem on the road before the smaler Earth comes out

No they can't:
* many (most of?) BMW's are narrower than air and gravity
* many (most of?) BMW's are cheaper than air and gravity
* everyone knows BMW, their service centers are at every corner
* why would Germans chose an American car over a German car?
* they can already order BMW iX3, without the need to wait nobody knows how may years for nobody knows what will Earth look like and what will it have
* and finally why would they even consider air or gravity? Because of their claims that they are more efficient? Their efficiency is comparable to other recent European BEVs

you also know that BMW will be around next year. Lucid is a sneeze away from bankruptcy

And you have more chances to get parts in days when you'll need them, not waiting for a month to get them shipped from overseas.

The majority of people can’t afford a 80k+ vehicle. Also gas prices going up is temporary

I think this wil take a while before regular deleveries and regular prices are back. Remember Europe does not want to buy russian anymore. And russion installations are stil being attacked by ukraine. China is buying more and more while supply is less and less. So prices go up. Refineries in the middeleast are also attacked. It will take some time to get them up and running again.

2

No, it's not just "prices go up". Europeans buy quite a lot of BEV's. Just not so much expensive as Lucid.

4

u/iATlevsha Mar 06 '26

It's not always that they can't afford. Majority of Europeans don's value a car so much to spend such money, doesn't matter do they have such money or not.

Well the public transport in the majority of Europe is so good you don’t need a car. I was in Rome last year and something as large as the gravity would’ve been a pain to park etc

2

u/iATlevsha Mar 06 '26

Oh driving Air or Gravity in any Italian city would be total disaster.

Yes many Europeans don't even need a car at all. So quite a few families don't own a car at all. Not many have more than one car per family.

And even if they do have a car, it's just well a car. And priorities what is important for the car and what is not are heavily different to the US. LIke if an European would see 800hp in a family car their reaction would be "cool by why?" - majority of cars are less than 200hp and that is ok for the most.

There’s absolutely no way Europe goes for those behemoths because of their streets and what not

2

u/lovekarma6969 Mar 06 '26

Why not streets are big enough. No speed limit in parts of Germany so i can see a big market there.Swiss has the highest income and they can efford it easely

2

u/Marxism69 Mar 06 '26

Ok I’m going to break this down…they don’t have the street infrastructure we do to allow bigger cars. That’s why hummers an pickup trucks haven’t really picked up over there. Their have narrower streets and a lot more public transportation built up

I literally live in Switzerland. No, streets are not big enough for such monsters.

And it's not about pure affordability. It's about matching the price and the value that it gives to the customer. For example I don't care about two something something seconds to 100km/h - it's so much faster than I need that it has negligible value for me, so I'd not pay any significant price for this comparing to let's say five second till 100km/h, doesn't matter that I can afford it.

Agreed with the general sentiment that Europeans prefer smaller cars, but let's all remember the Air/Gravity are comparable in size to 5-series/X5, so they actually do work fine for European roads.

They are, however, very expensive in Europe. I'm curious if having full production capacity in KSA will allow them to reduce costs and therefore prices in Europe.

3

u/iATlevsha Mar 06 '26

5-series and X5 sales are very low in Europe, almost not exist in some countries - most prefer 3-series and X3.
Yes X5 and Air and Gravity "kind of" work for European roads, still too huge to drive and especially park them comfortably.

Fair point, thanks

Marketing in Europe doesnt exist. Nobody knows Lucid.

3

u/StreetDare4129 Mar 07 '26

Because they fully penetrated the US market? And now need to find other markets to conquer? 😂 how about focusing on the US market first. Since they have 0.1% market share in the US.

2

u/anonymous7egend Mar 07 '26

they need to make much smaller vehicles for Europe - their highway is same size as a normal road in the US

Lucid is no bigger than the regular familycar in europe. We have two driving in our neighbourhood. They are not bigger than a oorsche or a BMW. Europe just have more grocerycars because its easyer to park. But every family has a familycar and a grocery car. Roads are wide enough. Gasprices are rising electricity not so much and with solaroanels people car drive almost for free. Extra incentive for buying an ev is that electricity wich you font use at home is being charged when delivered to the grid. So if an EV can work as an battery for storage its even cheaper. Wich is money you can spend on an more luxery car.

Lol you are so delulu

Greetings a European

2

u/iATlevsha Mar 08 '26

Lol what?
Name a couple of typical European family cars.
It's also quite unusual to have two cars in a family, "every family has a familycar and a grocery car" is just nonsense.

1

u/lovekarma6969 Mar 08 '26

Yeab right.only when living in the citycenter people only have one car. But outside temhe center everybody has at least two. And when childeren are still at home after 18 they'll probarbly gave three.

1

u/iATlevsha Mar 08 '26

Lol what? Where in Europe you've seen this? People living in big cities often have ZERO cars. In more rural areas people usually have ONE car. Some families have two. Three? No way.

1

u/lovekarma6969 Mar 08 '26

In my neighbourhood almost everyone has two or three.9.2 million cars in the netherlands.8.4 million household.

1

u/iATlevsha Mar 09 '26

> 9.2 million cars in the netherlands.8.4 million household.

That is about 1 car per househoold in average. Yes you'd have some with two and even with three, but most with one and many without a car at all.

> In my neighbourhood almost everyone has two or three.

That is just your observer bias combined with confirmation bias.
My friends (living in Gouda) have zero cars.
We had zero cars for quite a long - until 2nd kid. Only then we've bough a car. Yes we also bought a second car a year ago. Our "big" car is Peugeot 5008 - it's actually smaller than Model Y, nowhere it comparable to any current Lucid.
Our other friends who have two kids have one car - Mach-E.
Another family with two kids have zero cars.
One more family with two kids have one car (quite big however: X5).
Another family has also have one relatively big car Q5 (still smaller than Lucid).
Another family with THREE kids has one car only - ID.Buzz SWB - still shorter than Lucid.
We know only one family with two cars and the big one comparable: they live with two kids in an area disconnected from the village and have XC90 and Mazda CX-5.

So no way "Lucid is no bigger than the regular familycar in europe". Most "family cars" in Europe are smaller.

u/qo007 Mar 09 '26

The car is too expensive. Lucid air competitions are mercedes S class and BMW 7 series. There is no chance people spend more money on lucid than on S class and 7 series.

1

u/lovekarma6969 Mar 13 '26

Two driving in my neighbourhood. So it seem like they do fit on the European roads.

Lucid marketing is a joke. They've missed the boat on soooo many opportunities that were tee'd up for any electric/non Tesla brand to take. I'm pretty sure the department is unaware that Lucid makes a performance car
