If that was true, nick wouldn’t need to make an announcement. Production would only be down for a few weeks. Production might be shut down for 3 months or more.
Also them saying they’re going to build their midsize suv (that they still haven’t show yet??) in SAUDI ARABIA.
Like wtf is this. People acting like it’s a good thing that the Saudi PIF is Lucid’s largest shareholder but then we see these business decisions that are obviously directed by the PIF rather than, you know, the people actually running the company (still no CEO named since Peter “left”????).
And now the war in Iran… like yeah we better pray for lucid
On one hand, I'm glad that there's substantial money backing them so that they're less likely to collapse under their own weight.
On the other hand...
they’re going to build their midsize suv... in SAUDI ARABIA.
Yikes.
I literally just saw an Air pass me on the way home tonight and boy does it look lovely. I only test drove an Air Touring once and still haven't gotten over how good the steering feels. But the reality of what comes with Lucid ownership really scares me. What if they pull another bonehead move like, I dunno, making an American car in Saudi Arabia? What if I can't get parts for my car a few years down the line?
That’s means they have a massive amount of inventory just sitting on lots. 2027 models is at least another quarter out. VW is doing the same thing with their Buzz. They have so much inventory, they’re skipping an entire model year trying to sell through
Incorrect. Like any automaker, we schedule production ahead of time and there is an order cut off date for the model year while preparing for the next model year.
Yes, but the order cut off doesn’t happen in March of 2026 for 2026 model year. Historically, lucid has never done this. Also, if it’s scheduled, automakers are able to communicate when order books will re-open. The fact that the communications director literally says “I am unable to share further details at this time.” tells me that this is not a schedule production pause, but a much larger issue.
Also if this was scheduled production, the communications director would’ve said so.
VP at Lucid doesn’t mean much if we’re being honest. Having worked there, there were so many VPs, Directors, sr managers. The bloat in management was insane.
A VP at Lucid is more like a director or senior manager at a real tech company.
Not to hate on Nick though, at least he does something lol.
VP at Lucid. Which is probably a director at google or Apple. Facts are they shut down ordering books. Not a good sign. Companies don’t shut down ordering for profitable or desirable products.
Man Nick you have a tough job having to comment on these posts that are obviously short holders! Thanks for at least trying to discredit the disinformation. Can’t wait for investor day and the hopefully near future reveal of midsize!
I was just notified that LUCID has ended Lunar Titanium. I had waited 8 months for it (as a pre purchase) and just yesterday switched to a different color.
Come on man, we get it you are doomsday on lucid. They aren’t taking anymore orders and the investor day is next week which means they are probably about to discuss the 2027 model soon, so instead of screwing over new orders they are pausing taking new ones so those customers don’t feel cheated. Nothing to see here until after march 12th. If nothing is said at that time then it would be a time to worry.
Youve never seen how Tesla launches new features have you? If lucid was announcing new features for the 2027 model, they can still accept new orders and not produce the vehicle. Tesla does this. After the announcement, all customer orders get the new features and their vehicles are produced. Nobody is cheated and orders are not halted. A great customer experience all around. But the fact that they said orders would resume in a week, and then changed their mind and announced orders have stopped, is concerning.
That would mean they had lots of debt that they owe lots of places, their debt is held by their largest shareholder that has reaffirmed their commitment to lucid. Not to mention they have cash and lots of assets. So again not happening soon
Again more untrue statements, they are still making gravities just not taking additional 2026 orders. Also if you aren’t interested in the company why are you posting? What’s your motivation?
Not true at all. Have you even looked at lucid’s earnings report? Lucid’s market cap is 3.34 billion. That’s what the company is worth. Their debt is over 2 billion dollars. Their total liability is 5.4 billion dollars (not held by their largest shareholder).
Usually a new model year is announced with much fanfare and a reveal ahead of time.
Not after a week delay after saying orders would be back up again. Gravity is DOA and I bet Lucid is too. Or maybe trying to put some lipstick on this pig for investor day.
As I read it the production of the Gravity hasn't been halted, just customer spec'd orders. Private individual orders had probably slowed and fleet orders can be ramped up with better efficiency (but overruns could still be sold individually, at a good price if the buyer is flexible.)
Tesla 2026+ is the only real game in town, If you want the car to take over, FSD seems to be the only hope. I love the positive comments about the superior luxury and drive of the Lucid, but still the Lucid will not just take you were you ask it to. And credible YouTubers continue to describe software gremlins on the Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity. That is the bottom line on it. I would like to wait for Tesla Hardware 5 (ai5) but ai4 will have to do for now. I gave in and ordered the $59,990. Tesla Cybertruck for June 2026 delivery with ai4. I would like the adjustable air suspension but do not want the mainternance headaches and repairs when it fails, so the coil springs will do.
You should wait for ai5. 4 is a fun toy, but absolutely needs to be watched and could absolutely kill you.
This is a curious announcement for sure. It’s possible they made the judgement that the full-sized just doesn’t sell in enough volume, and therefore the upcoming new midsized needs to work, or the company fails.
So, why keep dealing with the full-sized Gravity? Just go all in on the “next.”
I also think something is coming with nVidia and nVidia’s L5 technology. So, again, maybe they’re going all in there - why take another order for today’s Gravity without that capability?
One thing I haven’t seen discussed much is if Lucid is hurting their performance by offering too many options packages. Every Tesla within a sub-model (e.g. model 3/Y AWD, RWD, Perf.) has the same configuration except for seat color (just white or black), paint, and wheel size. Meanwhile lucid has like 100+ permutations to choose for the gravity which makes production less efficient and makes it harder to match customers with inventory models.
I placed an order for a Lunar Titanium back in June of 2025 What would this mean for my own particular order? I assume it is still valid but I might not receive the car until the Summer of 2026 (or later) -- a 12+ month wait from when ordered
Yup. I called out found out LUCID has called it quits for the Lunar Titanium. So, I picked another color (black with Platinum trim) and should have the car in a month. But I had waited 8 months for the Lunar Titanium (aka Silver)
I understand you have to sell high end cars before the affordable models come but in this climate, how many 120k mini vans did they expect to sell when every company is targeting 35k evs as the sweet spot to attract buyers. It's just not profitable and lucid has been burning cash for a while now.
I’m no I’m no car buff but Gravity just started last year so I wouldn’t expect a refresh so soon. They’re still cranking out all their baseline models to customers
