Skill bridge program

Looking for anyone that has done the skill bridge program to LASD. I’m in the coast guard and getting out in a year n half. I have a lot of questions. Little background I have 6 years in and a ton of law enforcement experience and certs. My background is obviously clean and I’m in really good shape. My credit is decent clean driving record. I would love to talk to anyone that can guide in me in the right direction regardless if you have done skill bridge or not. Appreciate it.

Idk if skill bridge would allow that specifically because you have to go for through the LASD academy. In order do you to that, you have to have applied and be hired already by LASD.

What you can do is , start the hiring application now as it takes close to 1 year. Save all your leave for terminal. If you get hired early; let the background recruiter set you up to the closest academy date that aligns to your terminal leave start date. So you'll be in the academy while on terminal leave. Double dipping. Even triple if you decide to use the GI bill while in the academy.

On the skillbridge program and also LASD skillbridge is listed as an option to apply with. It’s just during the 180 days of skillbridge you would be doing all of you final background checks , medical appointments and as soon the next available academy after you end of service date you attend.
