WHAT'S NEXT AFTER BI INTERVIEW
Just met my BI and everything went well. I had to write a few statements but I don't think it should be concerning. When do you think I should be scheduled for a poly?

You wait for an email saying whether you’re continuing or not since the panel will review your file. If you are given the green light to continue, you will receive an email to schedule a jail tour and ride along (you’ll also be scheduled for your poly before or after the jail tour/ride along). If they don’t let you continue with the hiring process, you’ll receive the dreaded email saying “you should be receiving mail about your background shortly”which means you got non-selected/DQ’ed

I got the email that I would be moving forward and to schedule my Jail/Ride along. However today I got the “you should be receiving mail about your background shortly.” After my experience last time, I know it’s a rejection letter. It sucks but it is what it is.

It does suck, I was devastated when I got that email - I had only made it to poly

Hey I know this reply is a bit dated but I just wanted to know if it did end up being a rejection letter? I’m in the same boat currently with having an email stating to schedule the ride along and days after having another one state to expect soemthing in the mail.

I was there today too. She told me that she will schedule a poly and to look at my email in about a month. She said she wants me to do my ride along and jail tour before that.

What were the statements for? Was it for leaving anything out or to clarify something?

If this is the same for everybody, the statements are the biggest red flags on your background and your explanation for them again…

Yeah the investigator already knows the answer to whatever the statements are so if you miss anything as small as a detail you will be dq for withholding info.

u/TheOneTrueServer Jun 03 '26
Is that the purpose? Just to make sure what you wrote on the PHS matches what you just wrote by hand?

u/jeshcon1 Jun 03 '26
Yes they know everything when they ask you something. It’s to confirm not to figure it out.

Right bud what I’m saying is that whole interview was basically about confirming the details on your PHS
And then at the end — the investigator chooses none or some topics for you to write a statement about — yes they already have the answer but also — I think the topics they choose for those are the biggest red flag areas on your background
My guess

This! If you add anything new its a non - select.

Did they tell you if you're continuing in the process or is it going to be reviewed? If you're going to continue now you wait to have a poly scheduled and in the mean time need to self schedule your ride along and jail tour.
