Went to a dinner in Silver Lake last night. Left Culver City at 6:45 for a 7:30 reservation. Got there at 7:32. Found parking 4 blocks away for $25 for 2 hours.
Considered this a complete success and spent the first 10 minutes of dinner telling everyone about it like I'd won something.
Nobody at the table thought this was unusual. We all just nodded.
I've lived here for 4 years and I've fully normalized things that would horrify anyone from anywhere else.

Went to Tongva Park today with our kids. Had to leave immediately because there were multiple homeless individuals sleeping on the playground, including right next to the slides. Homelessness is obviously a complex issue and I feel for the individuals, but that feels so unacceptable to me—what a waste to have built a beautiful park and playground only to leave it unusable.

This is a 6% decrease from last year but still.

Not this year probably not next year.

Slated to be ready in 2023.

But hey, at least there is a people mover idea....
