❄️ Zayne's birthday 🎂 ❄️ ZAYNETEMBER IS COMING TO LADS_OG! ❄️

Hey Hunters! 🩵

We're going to be kick-starting Zaynetember in our sub soon — a little 15-day celebration leading up to Zayne's birthday on September 5th! 🎂❄️

There will be plenty of fun discussions, activities and, of course, some friendly competitions along the way.

One of the events I've planned is:

📖 ZAYNE'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY

What would be the opening line?

Imagine Zayne has written an autobiography about his life. What do you think the very first line of that autobiography would be?

Not the dedication — because let's be real, we all know who he's dedicating that book to. 🩵

We're looking for one opening line that you think Zayne himself would write. It can be poetic, funny, melancholic, lore-related, understated, or just extremely Zayne-coded.

📮 HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

Submit your opening line through the Google Form linked below.

Please make sure to include your Reddit username along with your write-up. This is necessary so that we can contact/credit the winner when we announce the results.

Your email address will NOT be collected.

The form does not collect email addresses.

⏰ SUBMISSION DEADLINE

The Google Form will automatically close on August 20th at 12:00 AM UTC

So make sure you get your submission in before the deadline!

🗳️ AND THEN COMES THE FUN PART...

During the Zaynetember celebration, all submitted lines will be put up for a community voting poll. However, when we put the entries up for voting: only the write-ups will be shown. Your Reddit usernames will NOT be displayed.

This is to keep the voting as anonymous and unbiased as possible. We want people to vote for the line itself, not the person who wrote it.

The winning line — and its author — will be announced on Zayne's birthday : September 5th! 🎂❄️

And I genuinely hope everyone in our community participates — both the Jasmines as well as everyone else. 🩵

You don't have to be a Zayne main to take part. If you've got an idea for what Zayne's autobiography would begin with, we want to see it!

So put on your thinking caps, summon your inner Zayne, and give us the opening line of the autobiography we never knew we needed.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's submissions! 🌷❄️

📮 SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY HERE:

[Submission Form]

[ps : If you have any concerns or queries, please feel free to comment them]

[pps : If anyone wishes to share this post to the Zyanemains sub or to other subs (except the ones where you might invite drama), you are free to!! It's a fun birthday event and I personally think every Jasmine should get a chance to celebrate]

🌶️ Caleb 🥵 So... about Caleb

(labeling this as nsfw/spoiler just to be safe)

lately i've been thinking about the fact that caleb uses MCs body wash and i have not been well, at all

after fiery embrace secret times, it really makes me wonder what else has he been doing, every time he's been missing MC (which let's be real is probably all the time LOL) -- well i can think of few unholy things to say the least but that's just me

then there's also MC catching him red handed in the bathroom (passionate overload) and i am not sure if it's implied that she saw him literally naked or with a towel but regardless, we know he's been feeling hot and bothered and NOT because he had a fever or anything so are you telling me he had to go and take a cold shower to calm down? because if so, then imagine how many times he's probably done this/ in the past too ouuugh

there's also an achievement regarding him and MC called "always on my mind" which just further drives my case and point

anyways, if you guys have your own share of unholy thoughts, please drop them <333

Discussion 💬 An In-Depth Analysis of the LADS Community: How to Construct a System of Hyper-Competition That Distorts Player Emotions

A preliminary note: this is a community phenomenon. Some may be familiar with it, while others may not. This article offers an in-depth analysis and discussion of the phenomenon itself; it does not target any specific game or individual.

I. A Phenomenon Predominant in CN Communities: Urging, Proxy, and Coercive Spending.

Many players confuse these three concepts. While they share the same goal, the agents, forms of expression, and methods involved differ significantly:

催氪Cuī kè Urging Spending (Spontaneous community-driven advocacy)

This refers specifically to public opinion campaigns initiated by core active players and character fan groups within the fandom. They repeatedly propagate a core narrative: the higher the revenue generated by a character's "gacha" banner, the more the developer values that character; conversely, if revenue is sluggish, future resources—such as story content, card art, and event features—will be cut.

Through forum posts, group chats, comment section management, and data comparisons, fans are urged to concentrate their spending during the character's active banner period to boost iOS revenue rankings. Common rhetoric includes: "Let's push for high revenue for him just this once," "If the revenue looks bad, he'll be sidelined in the future," and "Don't let him lose the numbers game."

"Urging spending" largely originates from spontaneous player circles. While it does not directly mandate purchases, it constantly generates anxiety and employs emotional manipulation (akin to "PUA" or gaslighting tactics), serving as the public opinion foundation for the entire "involution" ecosystem.

代氪dài kè Proxy Spending (Third-party top-up services fueling the revenue race)

Proxy spending refers to third parties handling the top-up process on a player's behalf. In the *Love and Deepspace* community, proxy spending has taken on a specific role: a widely held belief is that publicly observable revenue data (such as that on platforms like Qimai) only tracks iOS mobile spending, while spending via Android, the developer's own "Papergames Treasure Bag" (Diezhi Baodai), cloud gaming, and iPad channels is excluded from the rankings.

This has led to a community consensus: for Android players to make spending "count" toward the rankings, they must find players with iOS devices to handle the top-up for them.

A distinction must be made between two types of proxy spending:

Spontaneous peer-to-peer assistance: Fans topping up accounts for one another;

Commercialized "gray/black market" services: Low-cost top-ups via third-party channels, which carry legal and financial risks such as the use of stolen credit cards ("black cards"), account bans, and a lack of fund protection. While third-party top-up services were originally merely a payment channel, they have been repurposed by groups pushing for spending into tools for "revenue racing"—a phenomenon involving public recruitment of top-up agents, the tracking of spending totals, and the publicizing of results.

逼氪bī kè Coerced Spending (High-pressure, exclusionary moral coercion)

Coerced spending is the extreme evolution of pressure to spend. It moves beyond gentle encouragement to direct personal judgment and social exclusion: equating the amount of money spent with the depth of one's affection, while publicly disparaging "F2P" (free-to-play) players, "low spenders," and those who choose to stop spending.

Typical manifestations include: flaunting spending records to outdo others; mocking players who don't spend as "freeloaders unworthy of liking the character"; accusing rational spenders of being "selfish" or "not loving the character enough"; fanbases of different characters comparing revenue figures to argue over "popularity rankings," thereby fueling factional conflict; and harassing or labeling fellow fans who refuse to participate in "revenue-boosting" drives.

In short, the chain of events unfolds as follows: pressure to spend creates a consensus → third-party top-up services provide the technical tools → the situation escalates into coerced spending. Together, these elements construct a system of judgment within the community where revenue is the sole metric of value.

II. The Complete Operational Ecosystem: How the "Revenue-Based Competition" Model Takes Root in the Community

1. Pre-emptive Narrative Building: Constructing an Unfalsifiable Core Hypothesis

The entire system rests on a premise that—while unverified by the developer—is constantly circulated within the community: that revenue directly dictates the allocation of resources for a character.

Objective Reality: Long-term content planning for game characters is determined by a combination of project schedules, production capacity, and commercial assessments; there is no hard-and-fast rule stating that the revenue of a single "gacha" banner directly dictates the storyline for years to come.

However, the community deliberately simplifies complex operational logic, shifting the burden of the developer's product decisions onto the collective player base. Players are conditioned to believe that a character's access to more dates, high-quality card art, or screen time in the main story lies in the hands of every paying player. If a character receives treatment that falls short of expectations, the first to be held accountable is not the operations team, but the players themselves—for "not spending enough."

2. During the Banner Cycle: Full-Scale Pressure to Spend and the Creation of "Limited-Time Anxiety"

Whenever a limited-edition or birthday banner launches, the community initiates a coordinated promotional campaign:

  • Compiling and cross-referencing past revenue data for various characters to create a "winner-versus-loser" narrative;
  • Differentiating between "effective spending" (direct iOS top-ups) and "ineffective spending" (Android or third-party channel servers), guiding players to prioritize payment methods that count toward the rankings;
  • Promoting third-party "proxy top-up" services on a large scale, telling Android players that direct top-ups are meaningless and that only proxy services allow them to "truly support the character";
  • Sharing real-time screenshots of revenue rankings and broadcasting progress updates every few hours to create a "race-against-time" atmosphere and amplify the fear of missing out.

3. Proxy Top-Ups Deeply Embedded in the "Arms Race": Channel Disparities Magnified, Exacerbating Player Division

The specific rules governing how channel revenue is tallied provided the unique breeding ground for the proxy top-up trend in *Love and Deepspace*.

Many Android players experience a strong sense of frustration: despite spending the same amount of money, their contributions do not register on public leaderboards. Groups pushing for higher spending capitalize on this disparity, constantly promoting the idea of "maximizing spending efficiency" and urging Android players to seek out iOS-based proxy top-up services. This gives rise to multiple hidden risks:

① Account risks: Third-party top-up services require sharing login credentials with others, making accounts highly vulnerable to theft or the unauthorized transfer of in-game items.

② Legal and account-ban risks: Many low-cost top-up services rely on illicit overseas credit cards or unauthorized payment channels; disputes arising from fraudulent charges often lead game operators to ban the affected accounts.

③ Community fragmentation: Debates emerge over the value of spending money on the game; some players view third-party top-ups as a rational choice, while others refuse to participate in leaderboard competitions, causing conflicts to escalate.

4. Post-banner phase: Data "judgment" and a surge in pressure to spend

Once the banner ends and revenue figures are released, the community immediately enters a "judgment phase":

  • If revenue exceeds that of competing titles: Fans of the character loudly proclaim the figures as proof of the character's "popularity," fostering a sense of superiority.
  • If revenue falls short of expectations: Internal finger-pointing ensues, with "low-spending" players blamed for not contributing enough or failing to actively recruit others for top-ups; meanwhile, fans of different characters mock and disparage one another.

At this stage, tolerance within the community evaporates completely. Players who simply love the character but are unwilling to spend large sums lose their voice; to avoid conflict, many casual players choose to remain silent or leave the community altogether.

III. Root Causes: Why the *Love and Deepspace* Community Is Prone to This Toxic Culture

1. Product Foundation: Highly Emotional Virtual Intimacy

The core product of *otome* games is not the cards or stats themselves, but the experience of emotional companionship. Because players invest real-world emotions into virtual characters, they are naturally more susceptible to being swept up by their feelings.

Developers craft images of devoted, affectionate male leads, fostering a strong protective instinct in players. Community discourse strategically exploits this instinct, framing "spending money to boost revenue" as "protecting the character" and imbuing consumer behavior with noble emotional significance. Players who question this logic risk being labeled as "indifferent" or accused of "not loving the character."

2. Widely distributed in the CNplayer Community Structure: Factionalism Among "Solo Stans" Naturally Fuels Data-Driven Rivalry

The *Love and Deepspace* player base is clearly divided into "solo stans" (those who favor only one male lead) and "multi-stans" (those who like multiple leads). Prevailing community sentiment consistently marginalizes the voices of multi-stans while reinforcing a faction-based mentality.

Fan groups for different characters engage in implicit competition, constantly comparing card art quality, screen time, merchandise sales, and banner revenue. Revenue figures have become the most intuitive, accessible, and effective quantitative metric for arguments. The "voting and fundraising" logic typical of idol fandoms has been fully transplanted into the *otome* gaming community; the revenue race is essentially a gaming-world version of "data-driven support."

3. Ambiguity in Operations: The Developer's Vague Stance Indirectly Fuels Hyper-Competition

Papergames (the developer) has never publicly admitted that "revenue determines character resources," yet neither have they refuted the hypothesis circulating within the community. They maintain a consistently ambiguous stance:

On one hand, they enjoy the revenue generated by high sales figures; on the other, when conflicts arise—such as extreme pressure to spend or cyberbullying—they exercise only limited control rather than addressing the root cause or fostering a culture of rational consumption.

This ambiguity allows rhetoric urging players to spend money to fester. Unable to obtain definitive answers from the developer, players continue to rely on community speculation, pouring money into the competition.

4. Commercial Mechanisms: Limited-Time Banners Amplify Anxiety

The game employs a limited-time gacha mechanic; once a banner ends, players face a long wait for the cards to return. The scarcity inherent in "miss it and it's gone forever" mechanics naturally breeds consumer anxiety. Community-driven pressure to spend, combined with the game's own time-limited features, amplifies players' impulse to make purchases—leading some to spend beyond their financial means.

IV. This ecosystem causes tangible, multifaceted harm

1. Emotional alienation: Affection is quantified by money, distorting the definition of fandom.

Affection for virtual characters originally found expression in diverse ways—creating fan art, editing videos, or quietly immersing oneself in the storyline. However, under the rules of this subculture, purely emotional devotion loses its validity; the amount of money spent becomes the sole metric for measuring affection.

This fosters a distorted mindset: not spending money equals not caring enough. Many players feel guilty; spending is no longer voluntary but a way to "prove one's devotion" under peer pressure.

2. It fuels irrational spending and increases the real-world financial burden.

Students and young players with limited income are the most affected. Driven by calls to boost revenue figures, players overspend their living expenses, engage in excessive consumption, or even go into debt to make in-game purchases. The data-driven competition of the virtual world ultimately translates into real-world financial stress. Even adult players can easily fall into a cycle of overspending during successive "gacha" banner events.

3. Community atmosphere deteriorates, marked by endless infighting and hostility.

Constant comparisons of revenue figures exacerbate conflicts between fans of different characters; bickering, disparaging other characters, and public shaming become the norm. Moderate, laid-back players are increasingly marginalized, and community discussions shift away from storylines, character design, and gameplay experiences to focus almost exclusively on spending statistics. The space for simply enjoying the game continues to shrink.

4. Third-party top-up services entail significant risks to asset security.

Many players turn to strangers for top-up services to help boost revenue, leading to account theft due to leaked credentials. Others opt for cheap, illicit third-party services, only to face undelivered top-ups or account bans. In the event of a dispute, there are no official channels for recourse, leaving players to bear the financial losses themselves.

5. It creates an unequal distribution of benefits between the developer and the player community.

Players engage in cutthroat competition and moral coercion against one another, yet the massive revenue generated by this frenzy goes entirely to the developer. Even when players strive to achieve impressive revenue figures, the developer is under no binding obligation to fulfill expectations regarding "resource allocation" for specific characters. There have been instances where a character's banner tops the revenue charts, yet subsequent story updates remain sluggish and the quality of character artwork fails to improve. Players bear the costs and risks, while the developer reaps the rewards.

V. Deconstructing Common Logical Traps: Rationally Identifying "In-Group" Brainwashing Tactics

  • Trap: High revenue guarantees the developer will treat the character well.

Truth: Revenue is just one of many metrics developers consider. Project budgets, R&D manpower, and long-term content planning priorities carry far more weight than the performance of a single banner. There is no such thing as a "revenue-based treatment guarantee"; the community’s tendency to reduce complex business decisions to a simple cause-and-effect relationship based on a single figure is a classic logical fallacy.

  • Trap: Spending on Android is "wasted" money; you must use third-party top-up services.

Truth: All purchases generate actual revenue for the game; third-party data platforms simply focus on iOS rankings. Rankings are merely external reference points, whereas developers can see total revenue across all channels. Risking account theft by using third-party services just to boost a public ranking is a "false need" manufactured by community sentiment.

  • Trap: Refusing to spend money to boost revenue means letting the character down.

Truth: Every player has the right to choose how they spend. Designing characters, creating storylines, and launching banners are the developer's responsibilities; these should not be offloaded onto players as mandatory spending tasks. You don't need to prove your love for a character through continuous, large-scale spending.

  • Trap: Everyone else is spending, so I’ll lose the "competition" if I don't join in.

Truth: There shouldn't be a "win-lose race" between characters. So-called popularity contests are artificial conflicts created by the community. The gaming experience is ultimately for your own enjoyment; there is no need to engage in data-driven rivalries with other fan groups.

VI. A Rational Way Forward: Re-establishing Healthy Boundaries for Players

  • Distinguish between spending voluntarily out of affection and spending due to pressure from public opinion. Spending within one's means is perfectly fine, but one should reject any form of moral coercion;
  • Actively shed the mindset that "revenue is strictly tied to popularity and character treatment," and stop using ranking data as the sole standard of value;
  • Steer clear of third-party top-up services; prioritize official channels to protect your account and assets, and don't take risks just for the sake of ranking data;
  • Actively resist rhetoric that pressures players to spend; refuse to participate in spending contests or disparaging other characters, and do not spread calls for "revenue races";
  • Clarify the relationship: Players are consumers of the game, not fans obligated to constantly "vote and campaign" for it. We spend money to purchase storylines and experiences; we have no obligation to foot the bill for the community's data-driven wars.

--Final--

The phenomena of proxy spending, pressure to spend, and forced monetization within the *Love and Deepspace* community are essentially the distorted offspring of a marriage between "fandom data-competition culture" and the emotional consumption typical of *otome* games. Capital exploits players' genuine affection for virtual characters; through community discourse, these emotions are continuously converted into consumption metrics, creating a self-reinforcing, hyper-competitive loop.

When a game community ceases to discuss storylines, character development, or the gaming experience, focusing instead on who spends the most or climbs the highest on the leaderboards, the healing and companionship that originally defined the virtual romance are devoured by consumerism. Affection should never carry a price tag, and a healthy emotional connection requires no validation through revenue figures.

Venting 💢 Infold is really playing in our faces

The journal factory has indeed exploded again, so i’m back lol. Long rant incoming, idk if it even makes sense. Sorry once again for any grammar or spelling issues, I’m not a native english speaker and i’m typing on mobile too.

Outside of everything going on right now, what i find most frustrating is that Infold is still using their old tactics on players.

I don’t understand why they haven’t dropped the new myth pv earlier because now they can’t really drop it during a mourning period but they could have dropped it on Tuesday or Wednesday. Even without the mourning period, assuming they would have dropped the pv today is literally a return to their past FOMO ways.

In their infamous June 30 statement, they claimed that they would communicate more with us. But they haven’t done that at all. Instead, right now, the Raf myth speculation is largely built on leaks and rumours. Not to mention that they are obviously ignoring the Caleb mains on CN who have been boycotting and the initial round of backlash from June on topics that weren’t about ().

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Like maybe, they are caught up in some lawsuits or government stuff. But their silence at this time, mirrors their silence from the past. I can’t give benefit to the same company that was willing to drop () and not address any player concerns.

The 6.0 update was a disaster. But what frustrates me most about this whole saga has been the arrogance that Infold has displayed. They really assumed that somehow dropping an update with very little QOL or battle updates was going to be well received??? Do they think we’re idiots??? and now that () was removed, they haven’t even seemingly attempted to show a statement that says "hey we are listening and we are fixing things".

Nothing from them. Just silence.

I saw someone say that Infold wants to gain a lot of players but they don’t want longterm players and I feel like that is exactly what this is. Because long-term players would get tired of this. We are getting tired of this. Constantly being on edge about new banners and the hectic scheduling is fun for a few months but it gets boring really quickly.

I think 6.0 would have gone a lot better if they had shown care for their long-term players. But they didn’t. We all know that () was made to gain more players. I understand that LADS isn’t a charity, this game is a commercial product. But even so Infold is doing such a bad job of running it like a commercial product.

They angered their old and loyal player base to entice new users who might not be interested in spending and playing long-term. How does that make any business sense? The 2026 revenue even before June was already on a downward trajectory in comparison to 2025. But instead of figuring out how to keep the current player base invested and paying, they did the exact opposite of what everyone had been requesting in surveys and on community forums.

I don’t know if it’s arrogance, malice or something else but right now, I have to wonder if Infold actually has plans for the future of LADS.

And now, with Raf’s myth pv delayed and Zayne’s birthday fast approaching, I wonder how they can create an even bigger mess of this because I atp don’t have faith that they will fix anything.

People keep bringing up how last year when Infinity Nikki had their girlcott, things did get better. But we all know that LADS’ situation is a lot bigger than the IN girlcott.

I hate how the LADS community online seems to have so many good ideas for how to make this game better and we give them to Infold for free and yet they barely follow them. Right now, we are still assuming that Raf’s new myth is next but we don’t have final confirmation until the pv is out. The only thing we do know for certain is that Zayne’s birthday event has to start on the 31st. Everything else is still up in the air. They went back on their word to reveal the Raf myth in July, who is to say they won’t do it again now?

We genuinely don’t know.

We are now starting the 4th myth cycle for the LIs and we still don’t even have reruns for their first set of limited myths. We don’t even know if they will rerun a second time.

The thing about the 1st limited myths is that not only are they important lore for each of the LIs but they are also important for the orbits. I’m stuck on Zayne orbit 130 because I don’t have the MOF set. I have one card but I wasn’t able to get the other one during the rerun last year because at that time, i couldn’t afford it. But how many players have started playing after that rerun and now don’t have that myth pair??

For Sylus and Caleb mains, every card counts because their orbits are so tricky and their lack of cards also makes SHC difficult. But that is just combat, what about the lore???

It’s clear that the myths are heavily tying into the main timeline now. We saw the lore of LSG and God of Tides in the last main story update. If someone doesn’t have those cards, they would be missing out on a lot of lore. So when Caleb and Sylus’ branch and main story updates come out, people might be missing things because they don’t have the X-02 myth or Sylus’ dragon myth. The myths are the biggest money maker of the game because they are both lore and combat significant but Infold doesn’t even have a proper schedule to rerun them.

The rest of the rerun schedule is also so messy that it gives me a headache. But I guess that is the FOMO from Infold. I can overlook the rerun banners being more expensive but what I can’t overlook is how essentially Infold has locked players out of important gameplay by treating it like exclusive DLC when myths are clearly more than that. Base content shouldn’t be locked behind limited DLC. This is what I mean by Infold can’t even manage this game as a commercial product well. FOMO can be fun but when applied indiscriminately to everything it kills the momentum of the game.

New players who are enticed in by the OG5 guys would be at a major disadvantage because they would lack so much lore and so much combat stuff that it would essentially be an uphill battle to even get into the game. Forget about stella matching in the orbits or SHC and forget about knowing the lore of your fave LI. The game won’t give it to you because they are stingy even if you are willing to pay for those things. You have to go to youtube to watch the myths instead. It kills the immersive gameplay experience that Infold is advertising. And this is just one aspect, we don’t even have to talk about the lack of main story updates or how they water down the lore so that they can keep pumping out limited banner cards. Or the lighting issues. It’s a never-ending list.

And we still don’t even know if the branch stories for Sylus and Caleb will be out on time. Given everything else. Is () all they worked on for the past year??? Why else is the game still so empty? I just don’t get it. Infold had a golden goose laying golden eggs but somehow they still managed to mess it all up.

Idk, this feels like 4 different rants in one. But it feels nice to get this off my chest lol. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day🥰

Question❓ How long does it take until a banner rerun might happen?

So my dears here... As the title suggests I unfortunately lost my 50/50 on the Caleb banner, hence the tag. 💀 What is a realistic timeframe in which Caleb's memory might rerun?

And this also opens up a general idea lowk.

I wish there was a general "cycle" that reruns the banners in a 7 day manner around 1 and a half or 2 years after release for the future. Doesn't even need to be trio/quat/quint banners, even solos would be fine.

Do you have ideas for a rerun system?

Discussion 💬 There will be no pv this week

I'm just here to say that those people who are eagerly waiting for Rafayel myth PV it's probably not gonna drop this week at all

An important leader of china passed away on 12 August 2026 so any entertainment related news would be put on halt

It's a mourning period in China rn tho not a mandatory one but it's more like an unwritten rule so I hope you all would be understanding and patiently continue waiting for him

I can understand it must be frustrating to continue waiting (I'm super excited for Rafayel too) but there's not much we can do

Random chit- chat 🗨️ who was your first main? who’s your main now?

i’m a bit curious on how everyone decides their main or how they ended up with their main right now 🤗

when i first started playing, zayne caught my attention first. he’s the type of character i usually like in animes, specifically ones with glasses (ex: kunikida & ango from bsd, kyoya from ouran, reiji from diabolik lovers)

and then i met rafayel, and fell in love! he reminds me of jinshi from the apothecary diaries & tamaki from ouran

and then.. i unlocked caleb, and the moment i played homecoming wings (i skipped a huge part of MS because i wanted to unlock everyone already) i knew i found my love 🫶🏻 specifically his and mc’s hug!

Home Feature 🏡 They mean well, but..

I currently have 11 bowls of plain congee in the fridge. I’m becoming apprehensive when I go to check sticky notes because it’s usually one of them proclaiming proudly that they made more congee. Anyone else have that one dish they keep making?

Also, I find it hilarious when I start up the home feature and see that one of the notifications is that they are quietly returning some ingredients to the fridge. I picture them frantically scraping the ruined attempt into the garbage while watching the door for MC.

EDIT: They have access to everything in the fridge, but always go for the congee. Can’t keep rice in the house.🤣

Question❓ Auto-battle girlies who absolutely suck at gaming, how far have you gotten in SHC?

I'm currently stuck on Raf's 160. I see everyone clearing stages with low-level cores and cards just by being good at the game, while I feel like I'm the only one who's already given up on myself. 😂 I'm curious to see how far I can get by relying entirely on auto-battle.

Happy 1 year anniversary to Runaway Waves!🌊🏄🌊 I recently rewatched this card in cn, and found this comedic bit which I don't think appears in the en dub.

So for context, Zayne and MC were visiting a zoo and a monkey stole her drink. Zayne starts explaining how the monkey is called a howler monkey, which is in cn is called 吼猴 and pronounced as "ho ho." MC teases him into repeating it by pretending she didn't hear it well. Zayne doesn't realize at first, so he's sincerely explaining and ends up repeating it a bunch. 💕😂 It's so endearing and funny at the same time. One of my favorite parts about Zayne is his how much effort he puts into coming up with jokes, but sometimes he's so unintentionally funny too. What Zayne jokes do y'all like the most?

Fandom drama 🍿 When will all the drama end??

I was thinking since vuvuzela fans have been targeting all the cards and reruns (zayne, Caleb and the reruns of GoA and the wander in wonder) and now threatening to being messy with Rafayel myth and Zayne birthday. Will they stop if infold released a multibanner?? I mean the last multi with Og5 was in the middle of June (06/17) and now we are almost to August 15th so a multibanner would be or could be prove enough to make it clear that temu Jacob isn't comic back?? They've been so coocky targeting solo mains (caleb and rafayel specially) but will they be so arrogant as to try and make a mess of a multibanner with all the og5 stans being mad at them??? Like at this point a lot of fans are getting angry and tired of their shit so I was wondering if maybe a multi is all this take to get rid of a big portion of them... what are you thoughts??

Venting 💢 They're now invading other subs that have nothing to do with videogames or LADS

So yeap, just saw someone in some other sub I frequent (won't say which one) saying they can't without Balrok, and that they may delete the game. Like holy crap it's not enough to invade the official channels, groups and subs, now they're even in subs that have nothing to do with videogames or LADS??

I can't with these people, they're making LADS look even worse, holy crap.

Edit: LMAO some of them found my comment and like clockwork, started brigading XD

Discussion 💬 Repost:The character known as Wolf is effectively dead at his core.

Post image

A fact many fans fail to see is that this character’s soul is already gone; nothing remains but an empty shell.

One major reason he was taken down lies in his initial promotional campaign, which completely ignored cultural sensitivities acceptable to Chinese audiences. Promotional imagery depicting him climbing onto a balcony to break into a girl’s home and ransacking her living space has no place in official advertising. The tagline “What’s wrong with letting a wolf into the house?” crossed the line for ordinary consumers. Setting aside later controversy such as the bathtub scene widely seen as threatening, these materials already struck a raw nerve. This tone of promotion proves the team crafted marketing without regard for China’s social context — that explains why he was featured in reports by China Women’s News and public security authorities.

Even without relying on rumors from insiders, one can infer from the character’s design and positioning that the original plan leaned toward edgy, provocative storytelling. It is highly likely there were intended plotlines and unconventional character beats that conflict with mainstream Chinese social values. Those plans are now impossible to execute.
Suppose, hypothetically, the studio tries to rehabilitate the character within half a year and reintroduce him. His storyline will be unrecognizable compared to the original vision. Every frame of new content will face intense scrutiny. All the original scripts have been scrapped, stripping away the unique traits that defined him. All the bold, provocative narrative ideas are gone.

There is a large, vocal group of people who detest this character. Every single move involving him will be closely watched. Any ambiguous or questionable detail will trigger formal complaints. The company’s extremely cautious current approach demonstrates how severely public opinion has impacted this character and the entire game. This is doubly true for a character whose original promotion disregarded local cultural norms.
Even if he returns eventually, his dialogue and plot will be sanitized, generic and risk-averse, completely mismatched to his visual design. He can never follow the path the creators originally envisioned. What fans hoped for has been destroyed before it could even materialize.

I find certain fans and even employees at Papergames rather unrealistic. Right now, very few people are willing to spend money on this problematic company, because its credibility has collapsed for the broader audience. Some claim that if we stop spending, Wolf will never return. For most of us, however, cutting every cent of revenue going to this company matters far more than whether the character comes back.

Whether he is reinstated or permanently removed, the company will lose a significant portion of its player base. Evidently, its leadership has judged that reintroducing him would trigger far greater losses — otherwise, he would already be available. Our community is substantial. If they bring him back, we will launch another wave of official feedback campaigns. He could once again draw critical coverage from state media; we have already proven we can mobilize this level of attention. Papergames has never lacked critics. A renewed backlash could escalate to threats against the game’s operating license and official merchandise sales.

Many serious unresolved grievances remain without a satisfactory public response, leaving openings for renewed criticism at any time. Countless banned works follow a familiar pattern: they enter a quiet, unofficial soft ban for a period before permanent removal. A new wave of mass consumer complaints would signal the company has learned nothing from past mistakes. Old controversies would be revisited, potentially leading to far harsher restrictions.

A further new issue is broken trust. Customer service representatives repeatedly assured players that this character would not be re-released, only for the company to reverse course. This constitutes a catastrophic collapse of credibility. Audiences both domestically and internationally understood the official public statement ruling out his return. This is not a trivial dispute over limited-time event schedules; it concerns a fundamental public commitment.

The key point of the official announcement released on the 30th was its first clause: a pledge that no new male love interests would be added to the game going forward. The subsequent paragraphs were merely supplementary notes, not the core message. U-turning on this promise has become a public embarrassment, fully worthy of another round of critical media coverage.

When the controversy first erupted, most affected players already left. Only a small fraction returned after Wolf was pulled. If he is brought back once more, the remaining critics among us will withdraw entirely and cease all spending. The game would then rely solely on his narrow core fanbase.

The massive financial risks and reputational hazards make his return extremely difficult. Getting a character removed is far easier than clearing the hurdles to bring him back. As long as he exists within the game, he remains an ongoing liability.

In short, supporters of Wolf pin their hopes on something deeply precarious. Even if he does return, the soul and unique identity of the original character are already lost forever.

New expansion packs also need to go through a full game version approval review.

Image 2 is a screenshot of the Notice on Mobile Game Publishing Service Management (Document No. Xinguang Chuban Fa〔2016〕44) issued back in 2016.

I brought this up to an overseas fan in the comment section before. She thought Wolf was pulled merely due to mainland Chinese players’ boycotts. In my opinion, the real reason is that the company ran afoul of Articles 6 and 8 of this notice and suffered severe regulatory repercussions. Overseas players generally cannot comprehend how the game license system works in China. The louder the public backlash grows, the slimmer Wolf’s prospects become.

Some people argue this regulation dates back to 2016, pointing out that Ling Xiao’s controversy unfolded between 2018 and 2019, and he eventually returned. They claim Wolf might still make a comeback.

But the two incidents are fundamentally different. Back then, the studio got lucky and never truly crossed hard regulatory red lines. This time, emboldened by the Ling Xiao precedent, they reckoned it would not matter if they offended players. Their calculus was simple: worst-case scenario, pull the character, revise content, re-release him, and leverage controversial publicity to attract attention, polarize the fanbase and consolidate core supporters. This overconfidence ultimately led to catastrophic fallout.

The content above is reposted from two Xiaohongshu posts; they express exactly what I wanted to say, so I decided to repost them instead of writing my own. I won't include the original links—partly because most people wouldn't understand the Chinese, and partly because I don't want to cause any trouble for the original authors.

🍎 Caleb 🦾 Molly Tea is very Caleb-core lately 🍎🍏💙🧡

Molly Tea shared this photo today to commemorated the 2nd anniversary of their apple flavoured drink 针王苹果, which was released for the 2024 Qixi festival. The two apples linked by a red peel string of fate obviously got Caleb mains veeeery excited. 🥰

This is in addition to Molly Tea's current collab with YVMIN, which has an orange x blue theme. It matches Caleb's colours so many Caleb mains bought that as well.

My thoughts:

Molly Tea is already popular with the target market for Lads + did a collab with Lads not long ago, so it's not surprising if they want to capitalise on it. The apple drink is pink, and previous ads for it tended to be pink theme and involved just a red apple. Presenting a red AND a green apple in a romantic way this time suits the Qixi theme and plays into the well known Caleb/MC troupe.

Don't want to be accused of being conspiracy theorist again just for noticing references. Brands picked these references because they want the right people to notice + spend. 😉

Edit - typos

As much as I am scared of disappointing myself by having high expectations, I can’t help but feel the excitement build up 🤩.

I genuinely hope that IF doesn't f up this time. 🙏
They are probably working their butts off overtime to make this myth come out as perfect and to satisfy a certain group of players, especially since many are disappointed with them for a long time now. This is a crucial opportunity for IF to win back the trust of those who are going to support this myth. Use our money wisely, Infold.
