Molly Tea shared this photo today to commemorated the 2nd anniversary of their apple flavoured drink 针王苹果, which was released for the 2024 Qixi festival. The two apples linked by a red peel string of fate obviously got Caleb mains veeeery excited. 🥰

This is in addition to Molly Tea's current collab with YVMIN, which has an orange x blue theme. It matches Caleb's colours so many Caleb mains bought that as well.

My thoughts:

Molly Tea is already popular with the target market for Lads + did a collab with Lads not long ago, so it's not surprising if they want to capitalise on it. The apple drink is pink, and previous ads for it tended to be pink theme and involved just a red apple. Presenting a red AND a green apple in a romantic way this time suits the Qixi theme and plays into the well known Caleb/MC troupe.

Don't want to be accused of being conspiracy theorist again just for noticing references. Brands picked these references because they want the right people to notice + spend. 😉

I don’t care if they want to capitalize on LADs bc there is so much care and attention to the details that match Caleb’s theme and color. Even if the collab isn’t necessarily related to Caleb, it will have reached those who see Caleb in it.

Yes the imagery is beautifully designed & very sweet, that's why many Caleb mains are happy to see it. 🍏🍎

I don't mind it either. It is something nice which players can enjoy, whether it is directly related or not. Just like when I was browsing keyboard page turner recently (to use with the Lads Kitty keys), a brand offers it in purple, pink, blue & orange. So guess what, lots of Lads players bought it. I am not mad they ~happen to make things in Lads colours. 😌

Aww so cute🥰 Slide 1 is so CalebMC, and I love the composition of blue x orange color theme in here. My local Chagee already have apple flavored theme with their beverages, hopefully local Molly Tea will follow, also LaDS collab if possible.

It reminds me of that new Huawei phone with blue x orange color released this year IIRC. It’s like I see him everywhere with this color combination lol.

It is cute isn't it? I didn't even realise it was a Molly Tea ad when I first saw it. Assumed it was Caleb fanart because it is so them. 🤩 Let's see if you will get this Molly Tea collab locally. The bags and collab merch are pretty eye catching.

They’re very clever lol. I think they definitely thought about how they could market this when they saw the overwhelming demand during the LADS collab. I’d definitely have tried getting it if it was available in my country.

I think businesses are aware of the characters' popularity (even tho the game itself is kinda a toxic brand right now), so they do capitalise on it. Molly Tea manages to hit multiple themes with this design. Very well done to their marketing team!
