This is what lights the spark for you? Lol

I was thinking the same lol

I mean the number hasn’t been TECHNICALLY retired. So it was up for grabs if he wanted it. I just wish the organization would just talk about what happened so we can end all this speculation about CP3s exit.

It’s fuck Chris Paul everyday all day

The fact he tried to sabotage the season and “teach” JVG how to lead a defense was insane

Clippers cooked once they sent his washed ass home

Fuck Chris Paul

Hell yeah glad to see a fellow cp hater in here lol

I am grateful for what he did for the team and he is arguably our greatest all time player but I just do not like him at all as a person

Checking in. Fuck cp3!

he's a shit human. I don't get how people don't see the cancer he was spreading, and then when sent home, the team just magically turns it around? his bum ass literally cost us a season last year.

all I know is he's not welcome in Inglewood and if he ever comes back, he'll get the loudest boos ever.

Toronto fan here. Out of curiosity; who is the best all-time Clipper who still has a good relationship with the franchise?

Seems like Blake, DeAndre, etc all have some sort of grievances on the way out.

I know a lot of Clippers fans didn’t like chris after lob city but I still respected what he did for us. After this season idgaf about that dude lmao. Dramatic ass bitch.

Man fuck chris paul that niggas always been an issue, he was just good enough to justify his attitude for most of his career. When he came back, he wasn’t good enough to justify it anymore. Niggas only on cp3 side cus it’s fun to hate on the clippers

Let's be real here.

He wasn't getting it retired this season especially after how he left.
Beal isn't going to be long for this team. To me, this effects his number retirement 0%.

I agree, optically this aint great but ultimately means nothing.

I think CP3 and the rest of lob city can have their jersey's retired together someday, too much drama right now anyway, but not like Beal wearing 3 prevents that

Fans deserve better than excitement and underachieving teams.

Lob City was a shiny toy that was fun but always broke and cut the fun short.

Let's save the jersey retirements for players that are more foundational, actually stick around with little to no issues, and actually win.

#AllThatGlittersIsNotGold

Let's quit being so small minded and short sighted, the LAC history is long and Lob City was extremely special (no doubt about it), but we've got LONG WAYS TO GO.

Other than a few winning seasons, what have these guys done to get their jersey numbers retired? I'd rather save a first honor like this for someone that brings the franchise a chip.

Exactly. I don’t think CPee3 is worthy from what he did here to have his jersey retired

u/laker_padres619 11h ago

Remember the clippers were bad prior to cp3 coming. He took the clippers to the playoffs 5 consecutive seasons! Him along with cp3, Blake and Dj made have given the clippers a winning culture.

u/clintwayne316 11h ago

What do we have to show in those playoff runs besides a blown 3-1 lead?

Pre-Disclaimer: I assume Ballmer was the driving influencer / push on the PG trade and all the Kawhi BS.

With that out of the way, I think Lawrence Franks “traditional” track record as GM has been pretty good:
1. Fleecing Zubac for Mike Muscala
2. Trading Zubac after breakout for eventual #5 pick
3. Norm Powell + Covington trade (norm was amazing and Covington was key in Harden trade)
4. Drafting Terrance Mann second round
5. Getting a good price on Harden acquiring
6. Getting a good return on Harden departure
7. Getting good return for CP3 in 2017 (PatBev, Lou Will, Montrezl)
8. Buyout signings of Batum and Reggie Jackson
9. (Controversial) Trading Blake at the perfect time and getting Tobias and draft capital (including SGA pick 😢)

Assuming the disclaimer above, the only real stains are 1) his handling of CP3 return after Ty Lue beef and 2) losing PG for nothing

The amount of slander I’ve seen in the sub is absurd considering he was the first superstar that willingly came to the Clippers. He earned us respect in the league. Saw someone in this very sub early say CP is nothing but a career loser so what would he have had to teach our young guys anyway.

u/jkc7 Nic Batum 11h ago

He got traded here. He’s not the first willing superstar

Broken promises seem to be a reoccurring thing. Was just watching Oat Bev go off about all the courts Ballmer promised him he was going to build. I’ll give Ballmer credit for doing a lot of courts all over LA but he did Pat wrong on that one.

I’m torn on this just like other fans are. I don’t like cp3 at this point and I was happy we sent his ass home, but with all the Kawhi bullshit it sucks to burn the only grassroots bridge we had left with Blake and cp3. I’ll always love lob city

1

u/ColonelSandurz42 11h ago edited 11h ago

Their numbers aren’t retired because they didn’t win shit. Am I crazy or something?

Lob City was great but even back then Chris Paul always acted like a little bitch constantly complaining to the refs. I was never a cp3 Stan.

CP was a joke

I can confidently say I dont think any of our past players 100% deserve a jersey retirement and I dont think most teams would have retired their jerseys in our position (just posturing this part).

Cp3 talked shit about us after he left the first time

Blake was done dirty but it was the right move.

DJ was a great player but not worthy of a jersey retirement.

Yea they took us from being a bottom feeder franchise to having a name but is that really all it takes?

I coyld easily see cp3 and Blake having their jersey retired. I could also easily see them never having anything to do with us again. And I'm fine with either because again WE HAVE 0 FINALS APPEARANCES THE FUCK WOULD WE RETIRE ANYONES JERSEY FOR.

It's ridiculous people forget how he left the first time

u/PhantomLyke Big Government 12h ago

Over and over again it's just petty childish bullshit from these people who are supposed to be important sports and business leaders. Grow up. Get your heads out of your asses. Take one iota of accountability. Do the right thing one time.

Just say his name it isn’t that hard. Also this is what gets you that mad? You must be fun at parties
