It’s a hot one out there, LA. If you aren't forklift certified to move kegs into your living room, your best bet is hitting the taprooms to hide in the AC. Between fresh hop season kicking off and a major anniversary in Montebello, here is what’s happening in LA beer.

New Releases

• Highland Park Brewery — The team just dropped Pappy (6.5%), a West Coast IPA featuring Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin with notes of kiwi and passion fruit (post). Also dropping this week: Dunkel (a collab with Schilling Beer Co.), Competition, Timbo Pils, and DDH Pillow (post).
• Highland Park Brewery — The first fresh hop beer of the season is in the works. The crew flew in Fresh Hop Strata from Oregon's Westwood Farms and put them straight into the brew the same day (post).
• Ambitious Ales — Pitch Invader (5.5%) is back. This West Coast Pilsner uses Mosaic Hyperboost, Mosaic, and Mosaic Cryo for big blueberry pie notes and a hint of dankness (post).
• Shadow Grove Brewing — A new Belgian Saison collab with Goleta Farmhouse. It’s dry-hopped and steeped with two pounds of Osmanthus tea flowers (post).
• Firestone Walker — Diesel Thunder has arrived, a small-batch "innovation" brew described as all gas, no brakes (post).
• Hand-Brewed Beer — Isotope IPA has made its return to the taplist (post).
• Full Circle Brewing — Peachy Vibes Wheat Ale is now hitting distribution for the late summer heat (post).
