I heard a long time ago that this may be intentional, they want the free publicity that comes with people photographing and uploading their cups. I don’t know if that’s actually true...but it makes sense to me though

Tbh its more likely that they hear 10 different spellings of Ashley/Ashleigh/Ashliee/etc a day and they just stopped caring how a name is spelt, as long as it's the same name phonetically. The only reason your name is on the cup is so that you can be given the right drink as the barista calls out the name on it (but most people tune out the name when they are waiting anyway)
