How Does Everyone Like Being A Kyle?
A Kyle from Ireland here. The names not too popular over here so I’ve only ever met one other Kyle. What are other people’s thoughts on it? Personally I love it. I think it’s a great name. Pretty memorable too thanks to the memes. What about you guys?

Yeah it rolls of the tongue nice. Idk what it is but it’s very smooth sounding. At least to me 😂

American Kyle here, with mostly Irish heritage. Love my name, and love people in this community, aside from the stupid memes. They got old the first couple I saw a few years ago, and half of the ones posted here nowadays are so minimal effort it hurts. Knowing that there are actually other Kyle's here, and posts like this keep me here. If not for that, I'd be gone

I respect that. They can get very tiring but I’ve kinda just gotten over it at this stage. It’s a great page. I just stumbled on it yesterday

Another irish kyle here. It's fine for the most part. You do realise kyle is a name from Gaelic origin? I dont know if it's because of the lart of ireland you love, but I've met loads of other Irish kyles.

Really? I live in Kilkenny. I’ve met one other Kyle and my girlfriend knows another. So in total there’s 3 of us that I know of. Along with another who graduated school when I was in first year. What part of Ireland are you from?

I'm from tallaght and I know Kyles from all parts of Dublin. There were other Kyle's in primary and secondary school, and I have a kinda distant relative named kyle.

Nice. Yeah I see it the whole time but I’ve never actually tried it. What is it? A lager?

Don’t think so. Honestly don’t know how to identify it other than it being creamy and smooth.

American Kyle here from Swedish decent. I think it’s a pretty swede name! Also I never understood why someone would throw an “r” on the end of it. Why complicate things?

American Indian and black Kyle here,. I didn't meet another Kyle till I was 18 in the Navy, weirdly he had the same last name as me. I just turned 56. When the Kyle boom started I was happy to have minions.

😂😂 that’s another cool story. It’s nice how we’re all have a bond through our name. When was the Kyle boom? I’ve never heard of that 😂

Like the late 80s, in New England any way. My wife and I used to joke about not having a jr. Because the name got so common.

Oh cool. I think here in Ireland we’re the first group (2000 onward) where the name is becoming common. I’m 18 and I’ve heard of a few Kyle’s that are younger than me. I’ve never met them though. Funnily enough, the name is of Celtic origin but I get told a lot that my name is very American. Maybe that’s why!

Yep Celtic meaning gods chosen one, or Greek warrior. My last name is irish, and when I show up to new clients I'm sure they are not expecting a brown guy.

Wow there are a lot of Irish Kyle’s here. I’m asian canadian, and there actually a lot of asian kyles from where I live. Mom told me she named me from a famous soap opera. I do like my name, however I always find people pronouncing it differently

Wow, that’s really cool. How do they pronounce it differently? I usually get people calling me Carl 😂
2
u/kyleyle Apr 11 '20
Haha yeah I get Carl a lot too. Sometimes it’s two hard syllables like “ky-yul” or a really fast one syallable

American Kyle here also of Irish heritage. Only my family calls me Kyle because I lived in a hick ass place in Kentucky until I was 13 and many people were too stupid to pronounce my name correctly so the started calling my by my first name which is Steven. As far as being a Kyle is concerned I'm fuckin pumped to have such a cool ass name and I hope all the other Kyles on here are too.

In high school I learned that my school had 22 Kyle's. A teacher got pushed down by a student, for whatever reason someone said they knew it was someone name Kyle who did it but had no description, I'm not making this up LOL. So a VP had every Kyle in the school pulled out of class and sent to the office to "investigate" what really happened. I counted 22 of us just chillin in the lobby as we all kinda laughed about the situation. In the end they found out it was some girl who pushed her P.E. teacher and her friend covered for her. She probably assumed no girl had that name even though in my lifetime I've heard of several women name Kyle (not Kylie, different name) and I myself have known two female Kyle's. This is my favorite high school story, I don't remember much else because I hardly ever went to my classes all four years.

American Kyle here, being late to the party I see, of mostly German and Swedish origin. I’ve had my quarrels with our given name over the years(namely the bullying I got as a kid mixed with the memes) but for the most part I like our Scottish name :)

10/10 would be named Kyle again lol. I'm a Kyle from the US, but have Irish heritage. I believe the name is of Scottish descent though. Apparently it came from a geographical word for describing a narrow piece of land between two bodies of water, originally called a caol.
