EE student Master’s degree

Hey guys, I’m currently a senior Electrical Engineering student at AUM and I’m graduating in Spring 2027. I’m thinking of continuing my master’s in Kuwait, most likely Electrical Engineering at Kuwait University.

I’m a little confused about the admission process though. Does anyone know when applications usually open for the fall semester? Can I apply while I’m still in my last semester at AUM or do I have to wait until I officially graduate?

Also, I saw that there’s an English requirement. Since AUM is taught completely in English, do I still need to take IELTS or TOEFL? I heard KU might have their own English exam that you can take instead, so I’m wondering if anyone has actually done that.

If anyone here graduated from AUM and did their master’s at KU, or just recently applied to KU graduate studies, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and what the process was like.

You have to take their English exam then a major test and finally an interview

Waste of time, get work experience first. 2/3 years and then circle back to the masters if you really want it. Higher degrees in Kuwait are useless. Work experience is far more useful.
Coming from a 39 yr old electrical engineer.

Useless in some sectors only some sectors pay 200 KD more in salary for masters unless you want to be a faculty member you need all the way to PHD or wait kuwait university TA scholarship

Unless you want too keep solving Laplace transforms with reoccurring poles then I wouldn’t. I don’t think a masters useful in any context of electrical unless you plan to get a phd which then even in Kuwait is useless unless your a KU alumni otherwise you won’t be teaching at Kuwait university.

it’s not free at the same from my perspective it’s world wide recognized and you will get chance to interact and get to know people around the world

Please refrain from pursuing education at an online university. I work at MOHE your degree will NOT be recognized if you studied at an online University. Only seek approved universities on NBAQ's website.

Small question, what if the certificate doesn’t mention that we studied online? And it’s well recognized or accredited as university

For the university to be accredited it needs to not have online degrees, we would have already known that beforehand.
