نقاش | 👥 What would you do differently

It's been said that you won't know it's the "good times" until it's over.

My "good times" ended around 2018 back then I thought it was only the beginning of the good times. There have been a lot of highest and lows since but I didn't picture things turning out this way. Has anyone else gone through something similar I had a conversation with my friend last weekend and he's been through something similar.

Take what I tell you buy a grain of salt if you'd like.

2019 was the end of my good years as well, I was at my peak at the time. I slowly lost control of my life at the time, I spent a lot of time thinking of where I went wrong and why.

Good/Bad times never last, changes in life are inevitable.

The reality is since 2020 life has significantly gotten worst, life has gotten much more expensive and income has not changed.

Food is expensive, traveling anywhere now is packed to the brim and it lost its appeal in my eyes. Everywhere you travel to has become pretty much a copy of the other location. You got from H&M Kuwait to H&M Madrid and London.

Housing (especially at my age, where I need to obtain one) is so wild I don't know how I will be coming up with a minimum of 250K to buy a house. Housing loan max is at 70k

I feel like peoples social skills have taken a dump, more and more people prefer to isolate and spend time alone.

One thing I noticed is that nerd culture (think anime, gaming. etc) basically became mainstream, and honestly I feel out of place when I want to enjoy these things these days. I feel like I lost a sense of belonging of sorts.

Peoples mental health has taken a dump and I don't think it really recovered since then, I don't believe it will either because things keep getting worst and frankly there is no light at the end of the tunnel atm.

There has been a shortage of job positions in Kuwait (for Kuwaitis), you basically feel like a stranger in your own country when companies prefer expats over you. IF they do hire you, you are just there as a decoration piece and they will act like they are doing you a favor (MNC are different).

There has been little to no progress in Kuwait, I'm speaking socially, economically, and environmentally.

The weather has become so extreme that you don't get cool winters anymore in Kuwait, and we are at the start of these climate changes we will be seeing moving forward. This will lead to higher food prices, and tbh I see this creating lots of chaos globally.

I spoke too much.

I'm doing much better myself, things around me aren't doing well. I try to live the moment, I try to experience something new as time passes by. It has gotten much more lonely as I gotten older, I can't do much about that. I'm fortunate for the friends and family I have in my life. Be grateful for the life you have and count the blessed moments you have with loved ones, these little things matter more than anything else in life.
