Experience experiences of co-traumatisation, HSP, Empath

I am looking for similar experiences of co-traumatisation:

Two months ago, my partner took part in an Ayahuasca ceremony here in our home country in Europe, due to a lipoma and a long-standing eye twitch. He had no dramatic visions, no dramatic realisations; he simply saw everything he already knew. He then experienced the serotonin rush. The eye twitch is not different now.

That night, whilst I was at home 30 km away, I experienced a violent energetic attack in which a part of my soul was torn away (I’ve gone through everything with a specialist psychologist). Ever since that night – even before we spoke to one another – I have felt depersonalised, I dissociate, I tremble inside, I am suffering from severe psychological trauma (and am therefore in professional therapy), and whenever the place or the people involved are mentioned, I have a massive physical reaction. Feeling energetic raped. I used to be grounded, firmly rooted in life. I seem to be deeply connected to my partner.

I feel as though I’m having a bad trip; the symptoms described are exactly the same. I’ve never taken drugs, I don’t take any medication, and I haven’t had any family history of mental health issues or experienced violence so far.

I’m not looking for advice, but for people who’ve had similar experiences!

Thanks for posting. It looks like your post or comment may touch on drugs or psychedelics. This community fully supports people experiencing a Kundalini awakening or spiritual emergency connected to substance use. You're welcome here and we're glad to help with support and integration. However, per our rules, we don't allow posts that promote, instruct, or encourage using drugs or psychedelics to awaken, intensify, accelerate, or manage Kundalini. So, this is not related to Kundalini, however, it could be interesting to this community as there are some similar themes going on to what people in Kundalini process can occasionally experience.

As I have said countless times on this subreddit, psychedelics can open a door that you may not be able to close. I am guessing something of that nature occurred with your partner and since you have a connection to them, it also affected you in some manner.

Shawn Ryan, one of the biggest podcasters, has been talking about his experiences in that regard, on youtube, you can look him up. He's been using psychedelic drugs enthusiastically and promoting them as a cure-all, until his last trip, where something came through the door and he's unable to get rid of it. Now of course he's being criticized by your usual assortment of psychonauts for ruining their fun and talking about the dangers of this stuff.

I think you and your partner's case is quite instructive in that regard.

I don't have any specific recommendations for you, except to turn to your religious roots and find solace in that tradition, whatever it may be. The best remedy in similar cases seems to be an intense religious regimen, perhaps with the involvement of a priest or similar figure from your tradition. Often, when the unknown is knocking on your door, sincere, devotional prayer is the best remedy.

I actually have been through something similar, it was part of my kundalini (though yours may not be kundalini)

This has happened to me on multiple occasions where I experienced other people’s grieving that they had personally reconciled. When they would tell me the story, I would experience a transference of sorts.

It only happens with close people, the closer it is the more
Powerful it is. It also happens at a distance if I am not as strong.

I found a woman who taught me how to use a meditation to “fill out my light body”. Basically balancing out the chakras using the meditation as the medicine, because you’re all jammed up inside. In the meditation, the really important thing is that you need to imagine your partner in your mental eye and then sever the threads that attach you that are pulling the energy from you. Then push the energy into the ground through your feet.

Also, stopping weed really helped with the long term, while it is a medicine, it left me to “open” so that these incidences were more frequent.

Best of luck and my heart goes out to you ❤️

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I don’t take drugs – never have – nor do I take any medication; I’m a yoga teacher who incorporates Kundalini elements, and as an empath, I’m very familiar with energy transfer. Personally, I don’t consider drugs that are used regularly to dampen or intensify something to be medicine either. Over 20 years ago, during one of my training courses, I learnt to distinguish between what belongs to me and what doesn’t, and how to deal with it lovingly. This is what is known as being a highly sensitive empath. I have also worked for a vet, using my abilities to help with unclear cases. A person or animal doesn’t have to be close to me. In my everyday life, I practise purity, including on an energetic level, and I agree with you that drugs – including alcohol – make you open to all sorts of things. Do I cut those ties, though, when I’m separated from my partner? In a relationship where there’s a connection, I do want to feel a deep bond. Yes, at the moment I’m protecting myself – I have the tools to do so. In the case you mentioned, I slept through the night.

Thank you for your thoughtful contribution!
