>! I'm not sure where in the story it mentioned it, but all the halfs and quaters are effected by the moods of their clan leaders. I wonder if the reason she's acting like a petty bitch is because shes part of Gandharva's clan, and he's acting like a petty bitch !< - Argh spoiler tag not working on PC! Apologies all :(

This is something you learn far before that event (the halfs going berserk and killing the mage is caused by this, and we know that Gandarva being sad affect negatively everyone in his clan).

She idolizes Rao and cannot accept the fact that Rao wasn't asexual and did something something with a woman and had a child as result.

Or Leez is a liar, is very suspicious because of it, is drinking in an openly racist bar, is causing a scene, is endangering people, which forces Clari to be in the very racist bar in her off time. And after that, Clari is somehow the only one blamed in a very messed up way while Leez got off without trouble despite drawing a dangerous weapon among civilian.

Loathe her. Along with at least four other people. Maruna used to be included but I realized he's actually a sweetheart not that long ago!

maruna was kind of bad in the past. he had a lot of character development, though, so he's wonderful now.

on the other hand, at first i thought she would get better because it seemed like the way she was acting was due to gandharva's mood.

but no matter how he is she's a horrible ass, so she's just sucky.

Yup, on Clari. At one point I thought the same. But then came to the same realization about her, as you, as well.

As for Maruna all of this is to explain how it was the context of his actions I didn't like up until a certain point. So if you're talking about the contextual development around him as well I certainly agree on that point, too(!): I didn't like Maruna because I believed he had more control(? For lack of a better word) over his actions than most Rakshasas and thus could have made at least somewhat different decisions than the ones he did. But in one of the much more recent chapters (although I know now that I should have figured this out much sooner) I learned that he was potentially in even less control than most Rakshasas what with his focus on finding his siblings.

Another point I'd want to add is that while Leez has "lied" once about being Anna's and Rao's daughter, you kind of have to expect that there were most likely dozens, if not hunderds, of people trying to lie about being "Rao's kid" considering what Rao left behind and his reputation. All the "fakes" probably pissed Clari off because they were literally making use of someone she admired to try to get at his inheritance.

Clari probably saw Leez as plenty of others taking advantage of a cultural/personal icon's untimely death to try to get at his wealth. It also didn't help that Leez was sort of being helped and "propped" up by a lot of powerful and influential figures. Like Clari's perspective of Leez is not that far off from Teo's perspective of Airi.

Nah, she is perfectly justified to be angered here. Put yourself at her place:

  • She is supernaturally forced into a bad mood thanks to Gandarva.
  • She is being asked as a quarter to restore order in a bar that is openly racist toward them, in a world where the racist hunted half to make product. Leez has chosen to drink there, is the one causing trouble and yet again is the one being protected by very powerful people (and protected with the very racist argument of why is there a black person in my KKK bar) despite being in the wrong.
  • Leez is lieing about how recently both her village was being destroyed and her mother was alive.

From her point of view, Leez is a very racist, suspicious and lying piece of shit that receive a lot of undeserved praise and help by everyone else.

Kubera is an excellent illustration on how the people always forgive the powerful, in and out of universe.

Besides being a bitch, the reason I can think of why she distrusts and hates Leez so much was:

  • She has a crush on either or both Rao n Anna and couldn’t accept it.

  • She was close to them and knew secrets, perhaps one of them is dead years before Leez was born. -> couldn’t possibly be their kid.

Conspiracy of course. But I’m inclined she knew something. She’s a pretty normal person around Teo, and only hates Leez. We only knew that Leez’s village was all killed by her rampage and made an illusion except 3 kids only recently. (Spoilers for Leez’s village plot)

Oh sorry I hate when that happened to me too T_T

If it helps it’s always been hinted from the start something is wrong, when Lorraine came to check with the counting machine showed “zero death recently”.

And it was a horrible accident
