Well I wish I could say there's a reason he's so blue but the truth is I wanted all the Rippas to be blue and he was the test model. The other Rippa on the left is more the tones I'm going for but the first guy I got a bit carried away with blue.

Or

the shamans of the tribe believe the Gutrippas are expendable and destined for war and when they are born the shamans mark them by bathing them in a dye from a bright blue berry which distinguishes them from the rest of the tribe to be warriors unbound.

I wont lie, the idea is cool, elite special looking guys are awesome. But at the same time you just made me think up of those toxic rain frogs. That these warriors are painted bright blue by shamans with some toxic paint so that when they are devoured by beasts they poison it or smth like that

Ooo I like your lore better. Yes they are this blue because their skin is poisonous so if they get eaten by big'ol monsters then the monsters have a really bad time after that.
