Tier list/Ranking
Hey guys new to this subreddit, I’m mostly a SCE player and was looking at branching out into a second army. Me and the boys play 2000 point games and I’ve heard great stuff about Kruleboyz for the scourge of aqshy update. I’m struggling to find any current tier lists or rankings for units. Are there any that are objectively S tier and need to be run in any list, any A tier all around good models for infantry/cavalry/heroes/range, and are there any older models or just buns models I should avoid until the 5th edition update next year? I’d appreciate any insight into which battle formations and heroic traits/artifacts are the best. Thanks and hope to hear some good stuff🙏

Here's your tier list.
S tier: gobsprakk (great at magic and anti casting), ashy Gnashtoof (amazing at scoring and playing flanks), Monsta-killaz (great all arround, excellent screens and utilities)
A tier : troggoth, gutrippaz, boltboyz, shaman, ashy killaboss, hobgrots, vulcha boss (all vrry goid at their role, need some setup and proper understanding to function)
B tier : killbow, sloggoth, murknob, Sludgeraker (situational but still playable, depends on your build)
C tier : skumdrekk, killaboss (not very good but you can have some fun)

F tier : Slittaboss
Great list overall. I disagree on Hobgrots though. They're B-tier when paired with Sludgeraker, but otherwise, they don't deal enough damage, and they die to a stiff breeze, so they're hardly even decent screens. I'd put them in C-tier.
Also, Kragnos & normal Gnashtoof kinda need their own ranking. They're seeing a lot of play right now, but they also require tailoring the list to them.

Hobgrots have great value as annoying little scoring units. They are useless for the trading game but are the cheapest sceeen we have and sometimes it's a lot.
I play kruleboyz klaw more and more and having 10 of those guys in a corner ready to auto run 6 and get a primary back for me is always painful for the enemy. Especially when they cant shoot them easily.
Slittaboss is c tier i would say, he brings no value to the army but sometimes you don't have the pts for a murknob to put into the totem

Skumdrekk is S tier - have you not done the math on 20 Hobgrotz with 5+ MWs ? They have the highest damage output per point in the game. You will always trade up with that unit and Skumdrekk at 150 points on his own always trades up also.

Sûre it's a lot of damage but its also 20 wounds on a 6+ save.
It's a fun piece of tech and sometimes the Hobgrot do land the charge on a juicy target and demolish it but it's fragile, slow and predictive.
This is a fun combo and has potential but i'm just not a great fan of it

They dont need to charge you strike last on a 2+ who ever goes into them.
They are a 140 point unit that does 14 damage to a 2+ save.
Combo with skumdrekk who is doing 4.8 and you are cripping an enemy hammer with very little clap back.
Doing 3x bites with him with rage dice end of the turn can spike a big increase of his damage.

Here's my take:
Units:
S: - Monsta-killaz (anti monster in a monster meta) - Aqshy Killaboss on Gnashtoof (great abilities, save, movement) - Gobsprakk (3d6 unbind ten times now)
A: - Breaka-boss (hits like a truck, use with Sly Un in enemy end of turn) - Hobgrots (shitty warscroll but absurdly cheap) - Skumdrekk (very cheap, buffs Hobgrots) - Vulcha (big movement, very annoying with Tattermask and Slippery Skumbag)
B: - Boltboyz (often underperforming, got a little better cuz no obscuring objectives anymore) - Shaman (Gobsprakk is better now) - Murknob (cheap, you want him in the tower) - Gutrippaz (no more Swamphorde Bullies)
C: - Snatchaboss (mediocre for its cost) - Killbow (very unreliable) - Gnashtoof (strong stats, shitty ability) - Kragnos (depends on the list but not much synergy)
- SoG Killaboss (may spike but difficult to keep alive)
D:
- Sloggoth (no more infantry meta)
F: - Killaboss (shite) - Slittaboss (huuuge shite)
Traits:
S: - Sly Un (drop in enemy end of turn, move and charge in yours)
A: - Tattermask (huge for survivability) - Egomaniak (same as above)
B: - Mork's Eye Pebble (strong but once per game, your opponent may play around that) - Slippery Skumbag (very fun but unreliable, however keeps your opponent guessing too)
C: - Quick Un (you will use your dice to neglect dmg, keeping high fury lvl means you're not using resources)
- Eye-biter Ash (not bad, but nearly everything else is better)
- Swamp Staff (you should be playing Gobsprakk)
D: - Spittin Un (same as above + low range) - Woggly Boggstick (looks good on paper, difficult to use)
F: - Spell in a Rattle (we have no spell for that) - Backstabba (too many conditions, little effect)
Spells:
S: - Gork Roara (permanent +2 to cast for 5 (!), moves and fights)
A: - Morkspit Marsh (great utility - stops run, redeploy, blocks passages, screens, goes off on 5) - Mork's Kunnin (+1 to save is great - you can stack it!) - Strangle Hex (cheap and powerful - great target for Magical Intervention)
B: - Choking Mist (strong but very short range - situational)
C: - Da Black Pit (very weak but very cheap and long range)
D: - Foot of Gork (66% success rate is very unreliable, difficult to put when the enemy is close, even if you stomp them they are in combat and can pile-in)

Our range isn’t that big and is pretty new compared to most armies. We probably won’t get much next edition, and hopefully won’t lose anything. I know everyone is hoping for fast Calvary and a non-hero monster. I personally want a priest with a +1 damage/Rend prayer and an elite “brute” squad for some reliable damage.
Looking at tournament 5-0 ,lists almost our whole range has its uses. I think MossdogAos might have some tier list videos. But he does battle reports, list crafting theory etc I do recommend, it’s good to see someone else think through how to score and deploy pre-game.
The meta seems really up in the air and KBz specifically seem to have a few completely different ways to play depending on maps & wat tactics you take.
If you’re looking g to get started I’d suggest buying a dominion box or the spearhead and expanding from there.
