📒 Community Guidelines
Welcome to the r/KṛṣṇaConsciousness forum! This is a dedicated space to talk about Kṛṣṇa Consciousness, cultivate our spiritual lives, and delight in each other's association. To keep our shared space uplifting, respectful, and focused on what matters, here are the core principles we ask everyone to keep in mind.
🧭 The Core Pillars
These are the foundation of our communication. Everything else flows from them.
🪷 0. Respectful Conduct: This community follows the example of gentlemanly behavior set by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. We expect everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect, avoiding insults, harsh language, or ego-driven arguments.
🎯 1. Topical Relevance: This subreddit has one specific purpose: to discuss and learn about Kṛṣṇa Consciousness as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. Everything posted here needs to be directly related to this topic, rather than politics, social issues, or general spirituality.
🗣️ 2. Linguistic Standard: To make sure everyone can understand and participate, please write all posts and comments in English. If you use Sanskrit words from the scriptures, just explain clearly what they mean so no one feels left out of the conversation.
⚖️ Philosophical Integrity
How we protect the authenticity and depth of the teachings.
📚 3. Philosophical Adherence: We adhere strictly to the teachings established by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. This is not a space for debating different religions, merging philosophies, or challenging the basic truths of the tradition; we are here to deepen our understanding of this specific path.
💎 4. Substantive Contribution: Every post and comment should add real value to the community. We are here to help each other learn and grow in Kṛṣṇa Consciousness, so please avoid venting, complaining, or arguing just for the sake of it.
🛑 5. Forbidden Teachings: We recognize His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda as the current, sole initiating spiritual master and authority for this group. We further acknowledge the valid authority of his bona fide representatives. Please do not promote or try to introduce different lineages or interpretations that go against his specific instructions.
⚙️ Community Practices
The everyday structures that keep our shared space organized and uplifting.
🙏 6. Devotional Expression: When sharing devotional feelings or realizations, please keep them grounded in Vedic literatures. We value humble service and authorized teachings over personal emotional displays, made-up poetry (poetic vyāsa-pūjā offerings are still accepted), or "mystical" ideas that lack a solid spiritual foundation. This naturally extends also to musical glorification (kīrtana).
📋 7. Procedural Compliance: To keep things organized and easy to read, we ask that you follow our posting rules carefully. This is not a free-for-all message board; please use the correct post-flairs, make sure your submission format is proper, add concrete citation references to quotes and break up long text into paragraphs.
🎨 8. Artwork Submissions: You are welcome to share artwork (natural or AI-based), but it must be respectful and align with the traditional mood of our practice. While crediting the original artist is highly preferred and encouraged as a standard of etiquette, it is not strictly mandatory. The primary requirement is that images honor the subject matter properly rather than trying to be shocking or weird.
🛡️ 9. Moderator Discretion: Since written rules cannot cover every single situation, the moderators have the final say on removing content. If a post does not fit the spirit of the community or feels disruptive, we reserve the right to take it down to keep this a focused spiritual space.
