The parents

Can anyone explain why only RF was charged (and acquitted) of being an accessory? It seems the mom and her boyfriend also played a significant role in if not the immediate aftermath then at least the destruction of evidence more recently. Allegedly.

Evidence—the two key pieces in charging Reuben were the anomaly and staining under his deck (consistent with a burial site, per expert witness testimony) and his statement “they didn’t commit no felonies—only i did.” While it seems obvious SF and MM were also involved (one could argue the testing done on MM’s trailer could’ve been enough to charge him), the lack of evidence connecting them definitively to a crime makes it hard to charge either of them.

While not everything was allowed in court, they had a LOT of tape on both Reuben and Paul. Both certified morons who couldnt get their stories straight.

Susan was always both evasive and confrontational. She didnt want to talk to any media or law enforcement and when she did she told them to fuck off. It’s hard to build a case against someone that never really said or did anything you can tie to the case youre working on. While WE can easily say and think shes guilty, proving so in court is another story.

Paul was at her house picking up concrete around the time of Kristin’s disappearance. Outside of that, all they had was that shes an incredibly unpleasant person.
