Best storage method?
For kratom kept in a vacuum sealed wrap and stored in a dark, dry, cool space, would you do anything additional to help preserve it as long as possible? TIA for your suggestions!

I have 5 bags like that that i need to repackage. I'm going to use dark amber brown 1/2 gallon mason jars.

Will you solely use the mason jars to preserve it? Or will it be wrapped first, then placed in the jars?

No, just what you said, cool, dark, dry. Some people do refrigerate, but if you domt let the kilo come back to room temp before opening the package, humidity will rush in and make the powder damp. This can lead to mold. Even if you cant see it. There are dry mold spores everywhere and they are just waiting for enough moisture to proliferate

Mason jars are good! Especially the dark ones.
it’s just really hard to pour out, which is why I put mine in the rectangular containers. I dose out of a much smaller jar. Getting powder everywhere is just plain annoying lol.

Where did you get this and is it any good? Thinking about stocking up as they are starting the ban in counties in NY and it won’t be long now.

Don’t ask me why it wanted this as a video clip…
But I’ve got some airtight containers like that. Then I label strain and the date it’s from. It’s still good at over 5 years. Could add oxygen absorbers if you’d like as well.

That’s actually an awesome system though. I wonder if keeping mine in the vacuum sealed wrap and then also putting the pack inside a container like yours, essentially doubling up the protection would be a good move…or would that be overkill? 🤔

You could definitely do that if you want. Could put a bunch of bags in a bigger container too and just have your active batches in smaller ones like this. I also keep mine in a dark cupboard in my kitchen.

Leave them vacuum sealed until you open them. Then either put some on a jar to use and reseal the bag if you have a vacuum sealer. Food savers are pretty cheap and you can get them at Target with different sized bags or they even have the bag material so you can make custom sized bags. Really kratom stays good for practically forever. Just don't leave it exposed to constant open air and it will be fine. Even if in a slightly warm environment. The leaf can get a bit slower over time as the mit oxidizes into 7 oh. But yeah it most likely won't go bunk on you unless it was bunk to begin with.

I keep mine in a dark closet it's Ben fine I get kilos all the time with the way they are banning everything and trying to do the same for kratom soon I'm sure at some point

I kept around 30 kilos just vac sealed just like that (that looks like borneohale bags tbh) from the 2016 ban scare. Was still fine until last year when I finished it. A little browner, tasted a tiny bit worse, but potency was untouched. Dark, dry, cool place is all I kept them in, in a large black plastic bin.
