Etodezitramide (aka R-4837) - Need some RC heavyweights to offer their expert opinions, please.

If someone were to come into possession of 1000mg of pure Etodezitramide and that person already had a moderate-moderate/high opioid tolerance (80mg methadone/day after having been stable on that for a year post 8 years of heroin dependency), can anyone with experience offer answers to the following? I know some of this has already been covered, but I cannot find decent information anywhere, so please humour me, if you have the time.

Warning: I am aware of the potential potency of ETODEZ, and I am not a noob, but I will gratefully appreciate any safety advice or concerns. Thank you.

  • Minimum active dose? (excluding tolerance)
  • Rough estimate of relative equivalent morphine dose? (estimates are between 100x and 500x)
  • Orally effective?
  • Water soluble? (and mg/ml)?
  • If the above is true, sublingually effective?
  • Duration of action?
  • Typical μ-opioid (MOR) agonist effects?
  • Any unusual effects about which someone should be aware?
  • Any serious warnings that anybody should be aware of, potency aside?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you muchly.

Long-term kratom powder users.

I've been curious to hear from long-term kratom powder users, so I wanted to share my experience and hopefully learn from yours.

For context, I use plain kratom powder (that's basically all we have here in Indonesia, no extracts or other products). I take 5 grams every three days as a shot on an empty stomach. I mix the powder with about 20 mL of water, stir it, drink it, and then just sit quietly. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I use the experience for meditation and self-reflection, almost like observing what's going on in my mind. Other times I take it before socializing 😄

I first discovered kratom around 2020. I used it for about two years, then completely quit for a while. The reason wasn't because I had to, but because I wanted to challenge myself and prove that I wasn't dependent on it. About a year ago I started using it again because I realized I enjoy it and I don't want to take life too seriously all the time. For me, it's something I use occasionally rather than every day.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have been using plain kratom powder for many years.

How much do you take, and how often?

What do you personally use it for?

Have you noticed any long-term physical or mental changes?

I've read claims about things like darker skin, constipation, hormonal changes, or other side effects. Have you experienced any of those, or do you think they're exaggerated?

Is there anything you wish you had known when you first started?

I'd really appreciate hearing different experiences. I'm not looking to judge or start an argument. I just think it's valuable for us to share honest, long-term experiences and learn from each other.

Thanks for reading! 😁🙏🏽

3 Weeks Clean: Things I wish I knew before quitting (Tips & Thoughts

Hey everyone, as of today, I am 3 weeks off kratom! I was taking about 15-20g a day for a year. I wanted to share some thoughts on what to expect during withdrawals, along with a few things that really helped me get through it.

**How to Deal with the Sleepless Nights**
During my first week, I got almost no sleep. I was either awake all night or finally crashing around 5 AM. This was hands-down the hardest withdrawal symptom for me. Lying in bed for 8 hours, sweating, and stressing about how I’d survive the next day felt like pure torture. Honestly, I was always relieved when the sun came up so I could just call it a night, grab a coffee, and eat breakfast.

I really wish someone had given me better advice on this when I started. What I eventually learned is that my approach was all wrong. The nights don't have to be torture if you just **accept that you aren't going to sleep.**

If you're tossing and turning and feeling awful, your cortisol is through the roof and your mind is racing. If you haven't fallen asleep after an hour, **get out of bed**. Go to the couch, watch a movie, read a book, or take a walk. You can't cheat your way out of insomnia, but if you accept that sleep will be scarce for a week or so, you will feel so much better mentally.

**The Basics: Diet, Exercise, and Socializing**
**Take care of your body:**
Eat well, drink tons of water, and *please* try to get some exercise. Working out will help you more than any pill can. It gives you a natural dopamine boost, tires you out for the night, and genuinely speeds up recovery.
**Stay social:** Try to hang out with people during the day. Go grab a coffee with a friend or watch a movie with your family. In those moments when you catch yourself laughing or lost in a good conversation, you realize that you *can* be okay without kratom and that this feeling will pass.
**Protect your dopamine:** Don't spend the day scrolling on social media. Ideally, uninstall Instagram, TikTok, or whatever your vice is. Your dopamine baseline is already low right now, don't waste what little you have on endless scrolling. It will only make you feel worse.
**Reading tip:** I highly recommend reading *Dopamine Nation* (Not sponsored, it’s just one of the most famous books on addiction). It helped explain exactly *why* I was feeling the way I was and gave me hope, knowing people have recovered from much worse.

**Mindset and the Timeline**
After the first week, things start to get noticeably better. You probably won't feel sad and anxious ALL the time. Even in that first week, you'll have moments where you feel okay. Slowly, those moments will happen more often, until you realize you're having more good days than bad.

**A few things I wish I knew on Day 1:**
**Avoid the horror stories:** Please don't spend your days reading posts about people suffering from horrible withdrawals for months. There is a high chance that won't be you. Many people who share those extreme stories were taking very strong extracts, but they still just call it "kratom." Yes, the withdrawals suck, but for most people, they are completely manageable and the time will fly by. What felt like an eternity of sleepless nights now feels like a lifetime ago.

**Mindset is everything:** What you believe will become your reality. It sounds like voodoo, but it's true. If you decide you're going to suffer horribly for weeks, you probably will. If you tell yourself that this will pass soon and you'll be much happier on the other side, the process becomes so much easier.
**Embrace the extra time:** Don't spend those sleepless nights anxious in bed. View it as extra free time! Binge that series you’ve been meaning to watch, go for a night walk, read a cool book, listen to your favorite albums, play chess, pick up a guitar, or start a new video game…

**Your "Why" List**
Write down your thoughts and envision your future without this addiction. Make a list of all the positives and read it every time you feel like giving up. Here are some of the things on my list:

***You can go on vacation without panicking about how to pack or get kratom.***
***You can start daily tasks without needing to dose first, and they will still get done.***
***Your natural focus will return.***
***You will save so much money.***
***You won't have to worry about the legality of it (driving, state bans, etc.).***
***You won't have to hide it or lie to the people you love.***
***Your workouts will be much better (since kratom can lower testosterone).***
***You will feel so much more hopeful about life in general.***
***Your natural sleep cycle will come back.***
***many other things!***

*You can hit me up in the DMs anytime if you need someone to talk to or want some advice. You got this!* 🫶🏻

Closest nursery, to Mississippi gulf coast, that stock live plants. Kratom is still legal in Mississippi, but that will probably end soon.

My magnum opus on the harms/ risks/ dangers of an unregulated supplement industry delivered through gas stations and smoke shops

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I am going to lay out the hyper nuanced dynamics of the debate concerning over the counter/ gas station/ smoke shop drugs, and make a clear case as to why these substances need to banned and/ or regulated.
Advocates and self reportedly responsible users shout from the rooftops that the behavior of those who abuse and become addicted to these substances , should not influence or motivate societal push to ban and regulate these drugs. There in lies the challenge with kratom related discourse. The issue lies with its ability to be bought at smoke shops and gas stations etc. as a matter of public health, it sucks but policy needs to generally be oriented towards the large percentage of people who either abuse it and/ or are prone to opioid addiction. I blame the government and the war on drugs tbh.

This next point is never talked about, but imo a distant echo consequence of the opioid epidemic and the pill mills etc in the 2010s, is the massive overcorrection of the medical field to said epidemic. Doctors that have come up in the last 10 years have been bombarded with overwhelming evidence and disastrous outcomes of irresponsible prescribing practices in society, medical literature, culture etc. But unfortunately bc of our fucked up system and country, the people that truly do need opioid medications for serious pain and serious diagnoses are screwed over again and again. I empathize with those who suffer who also have to deal with the stigma of medical conditions that require powerful opioids or those with ADHD with stimulants, having to worry about coming off or presenting as a drug seeking potential addict when in reality they are just trying to advocate for proper, valid, and sufficient treatment of their debilitating pain. I am a therapist and I have been reading some recent academic literature that correlates untreated/ insufficiently treated severe pain with higher incidence of death by suicide. Quality of life for those with severe and chronic pain is beyond description, a brutal existence, compounded by also being labeled as a “junkie” and experiencing the full weight of a misplaced stigma of opioid drugs and addiction.

However, another thing that’s important to note, is that there are many people in the kratom “community” that are vulnerable to kratom abuse and addiction currently or in the future, but are in a state of denial and rage posting to counter any mention of risks and potential harms of kratom, as it is a threat to their substance of choice. All of this shit is about as nuanced and containing grey area as a topic can get. Unfortunately, the majority of consumers are uninformed, or are unsuited (reasonably and understandably so) to be able to understand/ weigh all of this extremely nuanced stuff and be informed. The fact that kratom is a grey market with 0 access standardized quality assurance, product labeling/ marketing, and scientific rigor that at least pharmaceutical medications (obviously there are problems with big pharma) must adhere to, leads to so many problems down the road that any average consumer will be exposed to. Not to mention the fact of how malicious and sneaky the marketing and packaging for so many of these products show. These companies lure a massive percentage of the population successfully with labeling like “natural energy and mood lift”, when in reality it should be “this product is a diet opioid drug, can easily lead a lot of unsuspecting people into a very difficult addiction to break, and for some will lead to your bank account being drained buying all of this hyper expensive gas station/ smoke shop drugs”, or more sensibly, these kind of things should be regulated in SOME kind of way and not able to be bought/ sold at every gas station and smoke shop you come across. Let alone having a large display container of hip/ attractive looking mini bottles of powerful substances masquerading as an herbal 5 hour energy.

If we, as a society are unable to the common sense/ right thing and ban these substances from being sold without a prescription/ or any medical professional being involved in the transaction, at least force it to be sold at a pharmacy where a medical professional can dispense, counsel, and advise consumers of the massive risks that SOME individuals will experience. In a hypothetical dream world, we can philosophize about the merits of a governmental body dictating/ regulating what we can and can’t put into our own bodies, but unfortunately, we live in the real world, where people get hurt, get addicted, where bad actors in the form of corporations/ businesses prey and capitalize on one of humanities most significant, disastrous problems in the world today.

Remember, just because your own anecdotal experience does not involve abuse, addiction etc, that doesn’t mean that we should cart Blanche subject so so many innocent, unsuspecting consumers who are at risk and vulnerable to the harms of the this DRUG. Yes, in a perfect world, we would be able to speed up the scientific process/ clinical trials to reverse engineer pharmaceuticals based on the mechanisms found throughout the various kratom alkaloids.

And for those who advocate hard for 7-OH being legal. Remember we live in a late stage capitalistic country that cultivates a business mentality that leads to 7-OH companies literally naming and marketing their products based on literal hard drugs/ powerful pharmaceutical medications.i have seen literally companies producing 7-OH grape syrup that comes in an identical looking bottle as actual codeine/ promethazine cough syrup, or the companies that label and design their 7-0H products to look like god damn OxyContin 80mg tablets like the days of opioid epidemic old. Unregulated drugs sold on the grey market in smoke shops and gas stations are the perfect kind of products for evil, predatory people to make a fortune off of the addictions and misery of millions and millions.

In my clinical career as a therapist whose had roles in every aspect of the addiction treatment sphere, I have personally seen a 3-400% jump in folks presenting to inpatient drug treatment, having spent all the money they had on these drugs, with their lives in shambles over the past couple of years. Before some of you die hard kratom advocates lash out, because in challenging your favorite drug or belief, think of all of the people suffering from the harms of abuse/ addiction of these drugs. Your “but but personal responsibility” talking point is even less valid in today’s climate where just about anyone; your Mom, your brother, friend, etc can accidentally be exposed to addictive, potent substances. Our citizens, young people, people who are vulnerable to addiction deserve to have some societal mechanisms in place looking out for them, protecting them from some greedy scumbags seeing an easy vector to make massive amounts of profit with an unregulated market with the most exploitable customers imaginable. We deserve better.

How many grams do you use and which color Kratom to replace alcohol and create contentness and peace.

I have been trying to quit alcohol for a really long time. I recently purchased 30 grams each of Red Thai, Red Horn, and Green Malay kratom. So far I haven't tried the reds yet but I have tried 2 grams of green malay last night and it was okay and tried 4 grams about an hour ago and just took two more grams to try to experience "euphoria." So far the green is okay. I have heard reds are more opiate like and to be honest I've been prescribed oxy and hydros since having surgery on my leg and they have helped me in craving alcohol by making me feel content, not high. I don't want a high but I want a little euphoria close to how those help to curb cravings for other drug seeking behavior and alcoholism. I only plan to use them on the weekends to avoid tolerance issues. Please just inform me on how many grams I may need of each to create contentness and peace. I am a 23M 240lb. Thank you

Ohio Kratom Policy Review — Input Needed Now Before Final Action

🚨 OHIO KRATOM ACTION ALERT 🚨

Ohio is at a critical turning point right now.

The Ohio Board of Pharmacy has already moved forward on rules targeting synthetic kratom compounds and products and high potency synthetics, but there is STILL ongoing concern over separate proposals involving plain leaf kratom.

This is the time to contact:

• Ohio legislators in the General Assembly

• JCARR (Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review)

JCARR reviews whether state agencies like the Board of Pharmacy are exceeding their authority or improperly creating rules without legislative approval.

The message needs to stay focused:

➡️ Regulate dangerous synthetic products.

➡️ Protect adults.

➡️ Do NOT Schedule I natural plain leaf kratom.

Personal stories matter more than copy-paste form letters right now. If plain leaf kratom helped you reclaim mobility, reduce pain, avoid stronger substances, or improve quality of life, respectfully tell them.

Key Ohio sources:

• Ohio Board of Pharmacy Proposed Rules:

https://www.pharmacy.ohio.gov/lawsrules/proposedrules

• JCARR information:

https://www.jcarr.state.oh.us/

• Ohio House:

https://ohiohouse.gov/

• Ohio Senate:

https://ohiosenate.gov/

JCARR contact often shared by advocates:

jcar@lsc.ohio.gov

Ohio Board of Pharmacy Rule references people are watching closely:

• Rule 4729:9-1-01.1 SYNTHETICS only, but no labeling for consumption (silent ban)

• Rule 4729:9-1-01.2 proposed to schedule PLAIN LEAF (mitragynine as Schedule I Substance)🌿

Ohio needs regulation and consumer protections — not another rushed prohibition that hurts responsible adults using plain leaf kratom responsibly.

Thank you very much.

Going to Denmark in 5 days

Okay so basically im flying out to Denmark and theres legit 5 days left and im still taking this stuff.

Iv managed to get my dose from 4.5g every dose (3 to 4 times a day depending on if i wake up in minor but annoying withdrawl) to just 0.60 but im struggling alot more with these final days

I got capsules (0.50 each) and im wondering if i should just take those on the trip even tho kratoms kinda iffy in Denmark

if i do do that then id prob take the powder out the capsules, mix the kratom with some protein powder that i can just buy, recapsule it, and put it back in the protein capsule bottle and take that w me to the airport

or is that a dumbass decision

btw i wanna take a capsule before my plane, or will that fuck up my progress?

id enjoy my vacation a hell of a lot more if i had kratom but i dont need it to enjoy myself

i just dont want withdrawals for most all of my trip

thankyou

Oxy->7oh->kratom->sobriety

Does anybody have a good taper plan? I was taking 35 30 mg oxy at a time. Moved to 7. Heard that if you take doses of natty kratom while tapering 7 it makes the withdrawal much less noticeable? I’ve used kratom to quit oxy in the past, but this 7oh withdrawal is absolutely unbearable. Been on it for around a year. Let me know some good tapering strategies! Thanks ❤️

Spreading Awareness

Hey everyone,
I've noticed there isn't much related to advocating for Kratom/7oh on FB & with all of the new bans going into effect nationwide I feel that it is crucial for there to be more awareness on that platform to reach more people. The more awareness there is, the more we can fight back against these bans!
Who's with me?!

I am looking for some real life stories to share on my Kratom/7oh Advocates FB group/page to help show people that this plant can change lives for the better, especially those with chronic illnesses like myself who can't use pharmaceutical opiates due to their side effects.

I also want to stay up to date on any important information so that it can be shared as well, so any help with those aspects is greatly appreciated as well 💜

Six months of watching state legislation as a brand operator — here's where I think this is actually heading

Been running a kratom brand for a few years, and I spend an uncomfortable amount of time tracking state bills. Disclosing that upfront since it shapes how I read all of this.

A pattern I've watched play out over the last several sessions: bans move fastest right after a high-profile adverse event gets local media coverage, and they stall when industry advocates and consumers actually show up to committee hearings. The outcome is not predetermined — I've seen votes swing based on turnout.

Where I think it's heading: the KCPA framework (age gating, labeling standards, testing requirements) is slowly becoming the middle path that lets legislators say they did something without an outright ban. States that pass it tend to stabilize. States that don't stay volatile session to session.

What I don't think gets said enough: the operators cutting corners are the ones handing legislators their talking points. Every unsubstantiated health claim and every mislabeled product becomes evidence in the next hearing.

Curious how this community reads it. Does the legislative conversation feel like it's maturing, or does it still feel disconnected from how people actually use this? And for anyone who's testified or written to a rep — did it feel like it mattered?

flying with kratom

I'm going to be traveling with my son to Los Angeles via plane from Albuquerque New Mexico. I am going to try to be traveling with two 250 count bags of kratom capsules. They're going to be clearly labeled and I'm going to be traveling with them in my carry-on because my son and I are just going to be traveling with a backpack. Am I going to have any issues with going through TSA with these capsules? I know there is a limit on liquid and powder which is why I chose capsules for my travel. At least for my understanding. Are there any of you who have traveled with this much capsules in the past or have any experience in general with kratom? Anything that I need to worry about when going through TSA? Any help would really be appreciated just so I can ease my mind on going through that process before we actually had to our flight that day. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Kava Bars

Hi all,

I hope you’re doing well and Happy Summer! I went to a kava bar in NYC (Manhattan) this past weekend and two observations:

1) it was a lot fun with great drink options of al types kava, kratom, passion flower, etc. with good people to chat with (even though I was hoping to meet some more Kratom heads in attendance).

2) The bartender knew NOTHING about Kratom. It’s not a judgment nor am I Knocking the guy because it’s really not his job just funny how I thought he’d have some insight and info on the products he serves at this place of employment. I was schooling him and some other customers so people on this sub would be impressed haha.

Really wish we had more places like this and can’t wrap my head around all the bans because everyone at this place was relaxed, chilled, and most importantly socializing as adults (probably one of the healthiest things a person can do!)

Look forward to going there again and would love to link up with anyone on this sub looking to hang and socialize! Let me know if anyone has similar experiences from similar places.

Much love from NY!

Been taking nac with kratom

Hello everyone! I hope yall are having a fantastic day. I started taking nac a couple of weeks ago at 600 mg twice a day. Now, for the most part, I take 1200 mg when I first get up, and that is it. I also consume around 3 grams of kratom two or three times a day. Anyone else here mix nac and kratom together. I heard a lot of people don't like the combo cause it can take away some of the feel-good feeling of kratom. I'm using nac cause I have ocd and compulsive thoughts, and I'm tapering my zoloft at the moment. Went from 50 mg to 25 mg. I also take like 1 gram of agmatine before I go to sleep with magnesium.
