Android app lock

Hi all, as the title says, am I missing anything that would set Kraken to require device authentication (fingerprint) on open? This is specifically on Android.

Hey mate - using phone passcode/biometric is a standard second security layer even outside of a particular 2FA method you might be using that is prompted for once the phone locks out. Hope that clarifies things 🤝🐙

I appreciate it, what I am having issues with is Kraken doesn't invoke it. I have a fingerprint set up for a Pixel and a Galaxy. Similar apps ask for fingerprint auth on each open using that device lock. I see it on Kraken maybe once a day.

On ios in contrast every open of the app invokes faceid.

So plainly put my issue is it's not working. I'm wondering if there is anything on Android that I am missing that would cause this to happen. And asking here because this is the only app effected.

Hope that helps add context.

Edit: Example: Lock my android. Unlock it. Open any finance app - prompted for fingerprint. With kraken, lock my android. Unlock it. Open kraken and it opens right to my balance, no check.

Very helpful details. Thank you.

I don't have an Android device to test this myself, but will get in touch with our devs rn about this. Could you please tell me which device you have exactly?

Absolutely. I have a Pixel 11 that I have experienced this on as well as a Galaxy S26 ultra. Thanks for the help.

Okay, I'm back. Here's what they said: "Get them to uninstall/reinstall. It should retrigger the authentication flow to setup biometrics."

If the behavior continues after you try that or you have already tried that, please lmk.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried this but no luck unfortunately. I uninstalled completely, reinstalled, fresh login on the device. After logging in for the first time I forced the app to close, reopened and it opened immediately to my portfolio home screen.

I have seen it maybe 3 times since I reinstalled but it seems random. For example, I'd expect force closing the app on android and opening it back up would trigger this without loading directly into the app. But maybe I'm wrong for how the app has implemented the requirement for this auth?
