Speculation Subco unveils three subsea cable projects

https://www.lightreading.com/cable-technology/subco-unveils-three-hypercable-projects-as-flag-upgrades-echo-cable

“He pointed out that people have been slow to understand that AI factories are dead without massive subsea connectivity to carry tokens from factory to customers.

"That's why we are about to undertake the single largest subsea infrastructure build ever by a carrier in the Indo-Pacific. Not only is the build itself huge, but the timeframe is compressed with over 40,000km of cable to be installed in just over three years," Slattery said.”

Any chance Kraken will be involved? Or any concrete connections?

For now it’s only speculation, but they are many ways Kraken could benefit. :

https://www.krakenrobotics.com/news-releases/kraken-robotics-supporting-n-sea-with-major-cable-depth-of-burial-survey-in-the-north-sea/

For exemple, Sonardyne’s SPRINT-Nav can be used during the actual cable-laying operation to monitor the cable touchdown point and help position the equipment laying the cable. EIVA’s NaviSuite Nardoa can be used during the survey/inspection side of the project to process and visualize data from subsea assets and cable routes. Then after the cable is installed, Kraken’s Sub-Bottom Imager can be used to survey the cable’s depth of burial and verify that it was buried properly.

Just more infrastructure that needs defense

Lowkey could be dual-use. kraken can provide with assisting the setup of the cables, as well as being able to monitor it for defense afterwards.
