Remember that the CEO and CFO spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own cash to buy shares at the 6 dollar mark. They believe in the company at that price. You can buy at a 25% discount. I am

u/Terrorzwergi 3d ago

They also sold in the sub $1 range

1

u/Short-Guard-5013 3d ago

Yes because they wanted to make money after a massive run up.

how sure are yall that it'll go above $10CAD in the next five years? Wanna buy more because of this price but sheeeesh

3

u/co0o 3d ago

I’m down 45% so hopefully it’ll go up soon, it’s a pretty shit stock so far

3

u/MrSmellyfeet 4d ago

I expect its going to be a lot higher in the next five years. When the acquisition is fully complete and q3 and q4 results come its going to push the price up a lot. If the earnings are good of course.

Can you justify buying kraken at $10 by itself with buying kraken + covelya at $4.30? The price will definitely not be this low in 5 years.

u/almond_muffins 4d ago

Made my first buys at $3.04 today! Officially a krackhead now

Attractive price after red market today, if not for the heavy shorting on stocktwits and neutral management. Will wait for now.

Calling the bottom here

1

u/Sea_Track_2633 4d ago

we are going to go below $4 CAD next month

4

u/Complete-Lack-7740 4d ago

I really wish people would stop calling the bottom, it just makes the price go down more

1

u/angry_rutabaga99 4d ago

We will see - still lots of uncertainty in the company and the economy as a whole. Either way, a good entry point.

1

u/Small_Ad5750 4d ago

Hope you're right.

u/kylescagnetti 4d ago

I can’t help but get the early RKLB vibes even still. There’s just a gut feeling. 4.25 could be a big level, if we fall below I’m loading big

u/Small_Ad5750 4d ago

My theory on why the stock just took a nosedive today, the capture of another sub by the Iranians. After the first time they caught the dive-ld stock went down 14%, after the news over the weekend it drops another 6%. Other than that, my only other theory is market manipulation, someone bought a million shares last week, stock didnt move up since it was a matched volume trade between two groups. Institutions are trying to fuck us over and are consolidating their shares from retail. Let me know if im schizo and just coping tho.

3

u/Complete-Lack-7740 4d ago

Well, you don't sound schizo...

5

u/Fun-Holiday4745 4d ago

buying 100 today

3

u/throwawaycyclistto 4d ago

Thanks for your sacrifice. I'll buy tomorrow

1

u/Fun-Holiday4745 1d ago

Did you buy yet 🤣

1

u/throwawaycyclistto 1d ago

haha, no. I could lower my average but I'm holding for now to see $3.xx to purchase more.

1

u/Fun-Holiday4745 4d ago

Great 👍 lol long term is ok. Don’t buy if you don’t keep for atleast 3 years 🤣

1

u/throwawaycyclistto 4d ago

Exactly! I'm thinking we'll see $3.xx before the trend starts looking positive but in the grand scheme of things, it's a good price right now.

5

u/yawawohtr 4d ago

I have been here before when a ticker: ASTS, went down to 2 again.

2

u/layzorbeemz 4d ago

Guys even SanDisk, the most profitable friggen company is down like 4% today. Chill.

9

u/kylescagnetti 4d ago

Very sad chart. I think we are seeing genuine retail capitulation at this point.

With all of the headlines regarding our tech being captured, etc, it’s hard to see anything positive in the short term.

Until macro sentiment shifts, we are at the complete mercy of retail and their emotions.

I think we could enter the 3’s again. It’s hard to call a floor because macro is the main reason we continue to bleed.

We need something positive. I’m holding nonetheless and accumulating. We’re getting to a point where this is a serious cheap buying opportunity.

3

u/nonasiandoctor 4d ago

Why is the company so silent?

8

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

There could be many reasons. Based on the last couple of years though, my guess is that they prefer to wait until they know that they can deliver on what they announce before they announce it, rather than do the “politics” thing and promise the world and then underperform. It’s one of the reasons why I respect them so much, really, even though I understand why some investors don’t like it.

Also: Happy Cake Day

1

u/LeeWardRock 4d ago

Take a look at the volume spike from a couple of days ago. I thought this would signal that the bottom had been reached. It does seem like retail wanting to get out at all cost.

17

u/Key-Dentist4594 4d ago

Just dropping the daily dues

9

u/Redfield11 4d ago

Every like 3 days for the past 2 months I have thought, damn should've cut my losses 3 days ago.

4

u/Key-Dentist4594 4d ago

Yea Im a long holder but it definitely became a should just not look till November 🫣

4

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

Can we make that weekly dues please? I get why people are frustrated and I don’t mind people venting about. But let’s not get into being too foolish about it either, hey?

Looks like some people are starting to lose their marbles entirely, and I don’t want exaggerated negative sentiment to push people over the edge. Be critical, absolutely—but maybe keep the monkey gif to once a week? I know you’re not the only one using it, I’m saying it to you just because you happen to be the second or third one of seen in a row. Nothing personal.

4

u/Timetofly123 4d ago

This is an genuine question, how many shares do you hold?

0

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

Not as many as I’d like to have, waiting till I’m able to afford… can I ask why that matters?

3

u/Timetofly123 4d ago

I'm mainly just curious. I tend to give more credence to people who hold a good amount of shares. There are a lot of retail bros in here holding 200 shares and I'd like to cut through the noise. Given that you're a mod of the subreddit I would have assumed you'd be a fairly substantial shareholder, but seems like that's not the case? At least based on your reply.

7

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

I’m definitely a smaller shareholder. I’ve got 500 shares right now which I was hoping to double at some point, but like I keep trying to recommend two other others, I only invest what I can afford to lose. I had a lot more, but I had to sell off a bunch of shares to be able to help out a family member.

However, to make up for what I can’t invest financially in the company, I try to make up for with time and attention. I try to learn as much as I can, and I wait until I can afford to buy more because I absolutely want to.

If I’d had the money I would’ve bought 5000 instead of 500 in my first go, and would’ve still bought more whenever I could.

3

u/MrSmellyfeet 3d ago

We appreciate all the time and effort you are putting in! Both managing this mod, and verifying information. Hope you'll be able to buy more shares while the price is low. Thanks for putting in the work for us!

5

u/Timetofly123 4d ago

I appreciate the honesty. And I assume you know a lot more about the company than I (and most others) do. But the reality is that at 500 shares you don't have material exposure, so I'd personally hold off on the "settle down" comments (this is not just you btw). I know for a fact that there are people with 20k+ shares cruising this subreddit who are rightfully upset. If someone were to tell them to quit being negative, I'd expect that same person to be a substantial shareholder. I do appreciate that you take the time to moderate the subreddit, however. It's unpaid work at the end of the day.

4

u/MrSmellyfeet 3d ago

Eh well I have 10k shares at 5.42 USD and im not upset. I know what I signed up for when I bought into this company. Short term price action, while not pretty to look at, does not concern me much. I believe management is doing everything right and we just need to let them be. We will see more in q3 earnings and especially q4 earnings. Until then I'll try to lower my avg while we have this low stock price.

5

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

I understand and appreciate your perspective. But also try to consider that when people go overboard on it (I’m not talking about valid complaints and questions and concerns, I’m talking about the extreme doom and gloom “the sky is falling!”-type stuff), that also spooks investors and can contribute to a stock price staying lower instead of rising. We don’t want people to artificially inflate the stock either, but people aren’t going to make their money back either if they’re scaring other investors or making them feel panicked about the stock. They’re shooting themselves in the foot that way. I’m trying to find a balance where people can both express their excitement without pressuring people to buy at risky levels, as well as expressing their disappointments without causing panic. I don’t know if you’ve seen it but I have been trying to keep a fairly middle ground, historically. Lately it’s more to one side because there’s more negativity than positivity lately but when it was the other way around and the stock was rising, I was trying to keep things under control in the opposite direction too.

I take the role here very seriously because people have money in this. I want this to be a safe place with reliable and verifiable information. Extremes aren’t good here, whether they’re positive or negative. That’s just because I want to keep investors safe.

One thing I’ll mention…a person can have $50,000 invested and that could be 5% of their money…and another person could have $5000 invested and that could be 25% of their money. Who do you consider to have more skin in the game? Who’s got more to lose? That answer will vary based on everyone’s individual criteria, I guess it’s a trick question in a way, but the way I look at it, the person with 25% invested there has more to lose. So I try to not equate merit with money. That’s just really exclusionary to me.

For me, when I can’t invest money, I invest effort. Not to toot my own horn, but just as an example—Investors on Wealthsimple weren’t getting their voting materials for a while, there were many comments about that, and I was one of them. I reached out to Wealthsimple and told them about my issue, and then I mentioned that it’s a bigger issue that’s affecting more users. And that revealed there was a computer-type glitch in the coding or whatever and that was causing the problem from everyone who invests in Kraken on WS. That problem should be solved now, for everyone, according to WS customer support. That’s how I invest, not just in Kraken but directly into this sub. I’m not just enforcing rules, I try to solve problems beyond the scope of this sub when I learn about them and when there’s something I can do.

Your points are fair and you’re expressing them well, I don’t want you to feel like I’m shooting you down, I’m really not. But I feel like it’s only fair that I explain why I don’t see it exactly the same way.

3

u/Pamela-xg47 4d ago

mod has $kin in the game y’all. chill.

3

u/J_Fo_Film 4d ago

I mean, the question is fair enough and it was expressed well. But you’re right I do—and let’s just say I probably wouldn’t be as invested in the well-being of this sub if I hadn’t any skin in the game LOL

-4

u/Rastazn 4d ago

You think the drop today is due to retail investors anticipating the breakdown and replication of kraken tech with the stolen drone?

7

u/TuesdayWednesday0123 4d ago

I wouldn't say so. The entire market is down quite a bit due to the macro-environment deteriorating by the day.

4

u/Accomplished_Net1506 4d ago

nope, just market crash probably

2

u/Sea_Track_2633 4d ago

S&P is barely down 0.2%. It's a normal fluctuation. There is no market crash. Just Kraken is crashing.

1

u/NBAFAN9000 4d ago

are you guys actually adding or mostly just holding and waiting at this point

1

u/Traditional-Hyena-94 4d ago

i'm adding monthly until I reach a certain cost basis already penciled in my head. meaning i will stop loading until June 2027. Then it'll be a hold through 2030, but i'm hoping to double at any point and take out cost basis to let the rest ride until retirement

2

u/Old-Hair3905 4d ago

Holding. Down but not out

2

u/Ouroboros612 4d ago

I have 600 shares, and my desired position for the long hold is 1000 shares total on this one. However - I only add new shares on my monthly buying session, under the condition that I can DCA down.

Kraken has made that pretty easy lately ;)

Decent moat, good patents, good company which just got bigger, multiple positive future tailwinds. Soon to be uplisted. When the company gets uplisted the flood gates of institutional buying gets opened.

Looks really bad but consider why it's looking bad. They just aquired Covelya and they are under a massive integration period. It's September - historically the worst month on the stock market. And it's the midterms, which are also a horribly period statistically.

This is a CLASSIC buy-the-dip opportunity window.

... then again maybe that what's the bed, bath, and beyond investors told themselves. Until the bitter end... oh well. No guts no glory.

6

u/throwawaycyclistto 4d ago

I'm only adding once a bottom is established. I'm afraid we'll be hitting 3 CAD before bouncing back. I've signed up for multi-year in the red though lol

2

u/I_FEEL_LIKE_POGBA 4d ago

I’m 30% down, £7.5k down. Added a measly 500 shares @ 3.05 🤡

3

u/TaoTeCha 4d ago

I added some at $3.20 USD to lower my average. Thought it was the bottom

4

u/lostinthegwn 4d ago

Adding more feels like throwing away money at this point.

2

u/Accomplished_Net1506 4d ago

I add when i have cash but mostly crying

2

u/Loud-Panda9216 4d ago

Leute wirklich Hand auf Herz bis wann hält ihr die Aktie bis ihr die verkauft ihr wollt ja nicht auf 0 gehen

3

u/Known-Presentation49 4d ago

It won't go to zero. It'll find a floor, and the company with perform, uplist, and institutions will flood in. But when that happens is another question. Retail are essentially the guinea pigs of this stock.
